i know is unrelated question, but please i need urgent help, I inadvertently washed my jeans with my passport in it yesterday. and now is the passport is a totally waste, i was planing on applying for the emergency travel certificate but form nigerian embassy UK website it seams that is meant for only stole or missing passport.

the reason i apply for it not renewal is that am planing coming back to Nigeria this weekend saturday to be presides, i still have a valid visa so my question are

1) can i apply for emergency travel certificate though my passport is damage not stolen or missing
2) if no should lie and get a police report that my passport is stolen
3)i have a police report, but a break in in our house, that is the police just mail me a letter stating that my case is still on going.

i really need to travel this weekend,
Can you really teach an old dog new tricks? :-)

You alread lied. So this thread is probably not meant for you :-)

You need to understand what really happened.
You went as student, on student visa.
You stopped being student FROM THAT MOMENT your student visa was automatically cancelled!
You tried false marriage to EU citizen. So adding fraud to your record.
A student visa only allows very limited working BUT yours had ended so you were illegal.
Your record now is not good with anyone that shares information with the UK>
You can forget all the countries who belong to the europa Union

What you can try is russia

I didnot know if Georgia and some other countries like turky look at the informations fron the europa Union.

You where baned for 10 years but when you pay back the cost of the deportation it could be earlier.

no matter how small or bad the detail. Always have the courage to say the truth. I met several Nigerians in the UK who started on student visas and are now British citizens. just get a student advisor and never doubt the power of straight up honesty with immigration officers. even at the risk of deportation

My guy, whichever way it goes, you can make it big time in Nigeria. our land is still virgin to some extent, if you work hard and have exposed yourself to ideas from the overseas being great here isnt a big deal..... Nigeria is only tough for the poor.

The money people pay for even the crapest university in the UK is enough to pay for a decent private university in Nigeria. The pressures the UK government put on foreign students is incredible that I wonder why any sane person will pay to put themselves through that.

It has not spoiled any chances of travelling out of the country or applying for another country visa. However, you just need to be sincere in filling a new application to any Embassy. More also, it also depends on the reason behind the deportation. If it's a crime and considered summary crime then you might have chances if explained. But if considered serious then it might pose a problem cos most countries don't want people with history of problem. Giving visa is not the problem but the character behind the passport holder. As regards UK they ordinarily do not share database with any country like how schengen states in Europe does or US and Canada. Except there is a room for suspicion, then they will put what is called (IPIC) International personal identification Centre. Which most western country share on immigration data of individuals. Which is not so common if you are just applying for visa in UK. Except in Schengen states or US and Canada.

Final advise Is that better sit down and ask yourself what u want before making any further attempt. Cos most people that travel abroad for greener pasture end up in a mirage. If not a legal immigrant with papers to work, you suffer more than the graduate looking for job in Nigeria with nothing to show for it. Days have passed when abroad is Gold. Except you come into a country as a landed immigrant. Then u might be good. Once more best of luck.

If you want to travel out to another country. Then you should try the US, US immigration laws are less strict than the UK and canada. You don't get deported in the US unless you commit a major crime. There are over 11 million illegals living in the US now and some of them have been in the country for over 20 yrs.its also easier to change from an illegal to legal immigrant in the US. Many Nigerians are leaving the UK for the US. Also your deportation record wont affect your chances of getting a US visa as long as you meet the requirements for a US visa. UK is a really hard and tough country for an African immigrant, I wont advice anyone to go there. US is much better

Why do africans always see european countries as paradize and a must destination to eke out a living? We spent several thousands of pounds and dollars that we can use to establish profitable businesses in nigeria to process relevant document to travel out of nigeria to do odd jobs in europe only to be deported back to the country.Even getting a job there is hell,so why go there?

I have someone here with me as I am typing this. She came to UK on a 2yrs visiting visa. The law is that you must not stay more than 6 months at once. She violated this law by overstaying the 6 months at a stretch. The 2 years visiting visa was then canceled. She re-applied after 1 year and she's back now on another 6 months visiting visa.

My question is: were you banned from re-applying for 10 years as part of what you did?
If the answer is no and you are sure, I can tell you it's not as bad as you think. You will only need prayers and a good immigration adviser on the next step to take.

Its 90 days ....3 months and not 6 months.

The two cases are not related, over staying and engaging in sham marriage are not the same.

Re: DEPORTED From The UK!! by Nobody: 11:21pm On Dec 11, 2014
A man I know went to German and sought Asylum. After a while he was deported. This was in the 90s.

He returned to Nigeria and managed to get a U.S visa and travelled out again.

10 years later, he has received an American passport and working at a very reputable accounting firm that works with the state department.

He tried again to visit a friend in Germany and you guessed it, he was denied entry again, even with an American Passport.

What he did before, I have no idea.

Immigration is too tight in Europe now and even Germany, the last resort of Asylum seekers has enacted a new law that makes it easier to deport them.

It is even worse if you already have a criminal record of any kind in the EU zone or Schengen in general.

It is always difficult for anybody that has been deported especially after so long a time in the country

But in all these, never lose hope. Keep hoping for brighter days

Many countries are cracking down on arranged marriages as a means of securing residency permit or citizenship. Last week, UK Prime Minister read out tougher immigration rules for EU citizens requiring them to the be deported out of UK if they fail to secure work after 6 months. It is getting harder. I am afraid you have to re-order your life's plans. From your story, the likelihood of winning your appeal is low. Better save your money and do something else with it.

You can still travel to other countries but you will struggle to get a visa to any Schengen country, US and Canada. You still have to declare your previous immigration record whichever country you are applying to.

False.

Countries do not routinely share visa applicant details. You can apply for US, schengen or Irish visa but obviously you wont declare your deportation.

I personally know 2 people who have had UK home office wahala.

First guy was deported. Went to the high commission and applied for a UK visa with another name (before finger printing), collected 6 months, then 2 years and finally a 5 year visa. By the time the 5 year visa expired, the finger printing process had started so he has never bothered to reapply for a UK visa. Since then he has been to over 20 countries including the US and several Schengen countries. He has a house here he rents out so anytime he needs to come over, he flies to Ireland on his Irish visa and people wey sabi can fill in the rest.

2nd guy ran away from a police investigation and returned to naija. Kept coming in on his 2 year visa. When he reapplied, they pointed out the error of his ways in running from plod and They kukuma dash am 10yr ban. Since then he has obtained a student visa and studied in western Europe and has also applied for and obtained a 2yr US visa.

[b]Wellcome back, next time you go any where outside your beloved country Nigeria learn to live by the rule that govern the system where you find yourself, just cause you can get away with certain types of act when done in Nigeria don't mean you can leave Nigeria and still try to play "smart" . Respect yourself and protect the reputation of Nigeria ABEG!

Your original intention was never to study if you really want to be honest, otherwise if it was, you probably complete your education which is the primary reason for coming to the UK in the first place before ever thinking of marrying -simple wisdom should have told you that even if you wanted to marry, you complete your studies, come back home let your Caucasian partner invite you back to the UK and after a few months get married first in Nigerian and she travels to the UK and files for your permanent residency. The UKVI will run some checks but chances of you getting a residency to come be with your partner is very high.

But since you wanted to take the short cut you got busted, now your travel history is totally wrecked as far as the western nations are concerned - your bio-metric is already on the UK SMS system ,possible they share this with interpol and related agencies including boarder control, passport office and immigration. Change your name and passport if you like, your finger print will raise a red flag if you dare apply to some of the western nations for a visa.

Let this be a lesson to others reading this, the UK, US or other western countries is not heaven, its easy to go there do your business genuinely and if your want to immigrate take the open available right and legal channels , If it works out fine, if it don't be content with travelling there on visit and business, stop trying to remain in the white mans land at all cost - acts like these create a reputational problems for other honest Nigerians who are genuine travelers.

Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh but its the truth and others should learn from the errors you made - just cause some people might have done it and gotten away with it for now, don't mean others should do same, sorry you had to learn the hard way. If you listen to some of the posters here writing about how other folks circumvent the system and you want to do same ? well that's up to you -

And for all those washing their dirty "visa" linen here , it may surprise you Immigration officers for some of these western countries read things posted on this site.. so make una continue, dem they wait una .... Cheers
