@Phema
Please leave that post on quote to avoid people quoting the whole post only to say 'congratulations', it makes this thread unnecessarily longer and difficult to scroll through for people on mobile.

I put it on quote 2x and you removed it.

Oh, you did that? Was wondering. . .

No wahala. But, I do think you should have informed me though, before turning my post into a "copyright" version.

General House,
Especially mums who had C-sections(emergency or planned), I need to ask a question that has been plaguing me for the longest but must now ask.
I see that when people give fee breakdown they state Dr's, Hospital's(which is always costlier than regular vag delivery) and still go on to list epidural/anaesthetic as a seperate payment, call me *slow*but is it possible to go through a c-section/surgery in an unmedicated state?.

Hello Everyone,
Thank you for the insightful information so far.
Please does any one have information on the all in cost of child birth delivery in Maryland or Nebraska (Omaha).
Hi @ewomaoghene - I was also checking for data on giving birth in Nebraska when I saw your post here. Did you get a response or personal experience? I've been checking online and it seems like a good place based on cost&quality of living coupled with good obstetric care. Any other views on Nebraska are also welcome

Dear US Birth Team,

I have been reading this trend and will like clarification on some issues i noticed.....

Is it that it has been proved that EL Paso through doctoresparati.com is not a good choice or, PeaceNigeria and other new moms are just having a little misunderstanding that has led to confusing me a bit on making a choice. Kindly clarify the best option for Birth in USA. I will really appreciate this ASAP. angry undecided

Kindly respond anyone....

Thank you.

Congrats @Phema. May your son be a constant source of joy to you and hubby. Please I have a few questions concerning the speed of your processing of baby's documents:

How long did it take before you got the BC? Did you expedite it using vitachek? I assume you did not call US passport office until you got the BC, is this correct?

Thanks

The estimate for normal delivery for mom and baby and 1 day stay is 3640. Exclusive of paeditrican cost and epidural

Estimate for C/S for 3 day stay is 4800. Exclusive of paediatrician cost and anaesthesia. You will get bill for those separately.

My plan was to do normal delivery one day stay but had to do C/S because labour wasn't progressing as it shd. So I stayed for 3 days.

This is the number for there financial councellor. Call for more information. 7702922023

BC was ready 2 days after delivery. Went to their office to pick it up. Didn't expedite. You will need the BC to apply for US passport.

@SAkale
I see that no one has given you any responce,so i will try to answer your question as best as i can. From my understand of what has been said about the el paso people dresparati on this thread reccently, is that they are not doctors, but agents and that their letters might not be taken with any seriousness at the embassy if you are using it as part of your burdend of proof. That being said,i have allso read wonderfull testimonies of people that had their babies there. In conclution, my advice to you if you are keen on going the El paso route is that you use some other doctores correspondence as burden of proof when going for your visa interview and port to El paso when you get to the us.
This is just my two cent opinion o,i am not an authority in these matters o and i stand to be corrected.

Well according to Google, it's 8hrs 45mins driving distance between El paso and Dallas. If you are to go by flight, it's 1hr 40mins. Tickets I can see online at the moment range between $337 and $416. Airlines you can check include Southwest Airlines, US airways, American Airlines and United.

I hope this helps. For any other info on this pls contact Google.

Please Desert-orange, kindly help me out, did you use their letter to get your visa or you had another visa from another doctor in the hospital> ? how was your flight arranged>? what airline? please can we link up?

Desertorange71:

Hello Firsttimer,
I hope I can answer answer as best to clear everybody's doubts. One thing I must point out is that the letter of medical responsability that they send is very thoughtfully written. The people who have enrolled know what Im talking about. It is a big help if you decide to use it, and it is an extra step thet they take to trying to help international patients. Here are the answers to your questions, If there are more, Ill try to answer them all as soon as I can smiley God bless

1. All very well, and it was included for myself in the obstetric package.
2. I followed the advice of one one the previous patients on this forum and expedited the birth certificate via vitalchek.com which doctoresparati has that info on the website.
3. Also, I got the information from this forum (god bless all the people that have contributed to this forum) and got an attorney to apply for the visa while in El Paso. I have to admit, when I told other patients here many were surprised. I didnt know if it was possible and I was ready to go to washington like everybody else. Fortunately that was not necessary. BTW, even the people at doctoresparati were surprised when I mentioed this was possible!
4. I think it was less than 2 weeks
5. If you move and do all things as you are supposed to, it is possible to have your documents (passport/visa) ready in 2 weeks. I wasnt in a big hurry and wasted some time so i ended up leaving a month after delivery. I think its always best to plan as if its going to be a month.

Also, as many people have stated, houston and atlanta are not the best place to do your POE. I heard many stories about the officials returning anybody and evrybody they see pregnant from the Nigeria. Best options are new york (jfk) and dallas to El Paso. El Paso officers are great! Very kind and friendly, you will have no problem when you arrive to El Paso.

curgghhh!!! coughs to clear throat. It is time for me to share my own testimony. I have been following this thread for the past 8months. This is saved2serve reporting live from chelsea hotel, central district abuja. Our (me, wife and son) visa was granted this morning at exactly 8:15am (i was checking time). The interview took barely 7mins:

We were called upon, we came close and positioned (i stood at an angle to see clearly those stuffs pasted on the wall beside them which someone mentioned on this thread-- i saw the currency converter chat and one other thing).

VO: Good morning!
WE: Good morning in succession. (my 23months old son also greeted, "good moni"
VO: How are you? (directed to my son with smile).
SON: arrr fyne! and you? (my boy pointing at the VO immediately screamed "mummy see adanna" - the name he calls his unborn sister. --- he was surprised to see a whity).
VO: Am fine (smiling harder).
VO: can i have your applications and passport?
ME: sure! ( i handed in my passport and applications to her)
VO: started typing
VO: why do u want to be in US?
ME: To have our baby
VO: have you contacted any hospital and doctor?
ME: yes! ( struggling with my envelope - to hand over my budget sheet well placed on top, followed by the mihs correspondence, bank statement with reference from my bank addressed to them, mihs maternity package plus embassy reply on my inquiry to have my baby in US).
VO: Takes the documents and said wow! (looking at the budget sheet and smiles)
VO: This is neat and appealing; are you good with MS excel?
ME: yes!
VO: prepared this yourself?
Me: Yes maam!
VO: how many months are you gone madam?
Wife: XX weeks
VO: have you been to US before?
WE: we chorused "no"
VO: where do you work?
ME: xx coy
VO: what do you do there?
ME: i am responsible for Bleep
VO: how long are you staying?
ME: i will stay 5weeks and wife and son will 10weeks
VO: where will you be staying?
ME: villa at creek apartments, phoenix
VO: typing.........(leaves with my bank statement and came back after a minute)
VO: your visa is approved, come on wednesday and pick it up. wish you lovely time in US.
WE: thanks!

pattyreal thanks for your advice to book for 7:30am. To everyone making this thread a success i salute you all.
