Re: History Of Fuel Price Increases In Nigeria. by abolyem(m): 10:53am On Dec 16, 2014
Here we see who among them all is(are) actually for the masses. A better leader (President) will not make the people to be paying very high for basic needs. Buhari has shown this before and he will still do it again. Lets support Buhari ticket for the masses sake. GEJ will continue to make more expensive for the masses while satisfying the looters all in the name of support.
Imagine when big earning cannot even buy many tins, actually this we dont want. we want our earning no matter how small it is to be able to buy many tins.
Naija, think twice before u support anyone unnecessarily. base ur judgement on anticident and performance of the duo.

In view, 2015 under gej, it will be N150.
by the way, nigeria devalued naira and the masses caused it. therefore, even if crude oil price drops to $1, they will still pay.

up GEJ. he keeps moving us forward..... pricewise

The price of oil has gone done but our pump price in Nigeria is still the same. once your raw material reduces it should reflect in your selling price. What is happening to the excess profit/exploitation.

From this, Abacha even appear better than GEJ. Plus GEJ increased with the highest difference out of All. What a pity.
Pls explain how Jonathan's increment is the highest? When there is a 70k - 5naira under Shonekan's regime? Even Obj's increment is worse, he met it at 20naira and left it at 75naira. Jonathan met at 65naira and is leaving at 97naira. And somehow Jonathan is the bad guy? Nigerians, we can sign a deal with the devil himself in order to get rid of a demon. What you forget is that they are all the same. And the devil you are running to will chase that demon away and bring a thousand more

How can nigerian allow pdp rule for 16 years with all this failures? Seems we have lost our senses in this part of the world. How can nigerian reject military goverment and then embrace one party state? One party state is even more dangerious than military government because he encourage corruption and impunity.
It is a shame that nigerian are moving to direction of zimbabwe. It is sad that we refuse to learn from america goverment and the way the change party ofter 8 years of their tenure.
Nigeria must stand to protect this democracy or else we end up like zimbabwe.

Pls think and think before you talk......you want to compare the rate at which our currency is at that time OR Didn't you see this "•Abacha - from N3.25k to N15"
and he reduced it back to N11, so don't be bias.
Re: History Of Fuel Price Increases In Nigeria. by king1234: 10:58am On Dec 16, 2014
Gas price is a reflection of world's oil price. Nigeria can't be any different.

Even if we had a refinery in Nigeria that will not change significantly the price u pay at the pump as it will be stupid for a refinery owner to refine gas and sell it for cheap when he can sell at a higher price in the world market.

If u want gas price today to reflect what holds in 1960 then that is wishful thinking.

Also Nigeria has been able to sustain a stable price due to subsidy when oil price goes down money used by federal government to subsidies gas price is less. When it is high got has to budget more for subsidy.

Removing subsidy is the right step for govt to do. That removes an inefficient allocation of resources. We may have had an efficient transportation network of rail and buses if govt removes subsidy and use the money for public infrastructure.

A developed country is considered successfully if it has higher amount of its citizens using public transit to handle their daily business than use of private cars

Is gonna be a bumpy ride! Nigeria can't handle whats coming. A nation that should be holding economic summit is busy supporting politicians with shady pasts who will eventually take them to the top rank of most underdeveloped oil producing nation in the world. It will keep increasing and our leaders will keep misleading and the masses will keep dreaming. Change lives in a different planet from nigeria!

Buhari reducing gas price to #50 means he is. Using more govt money to subsidies fuel price. It looks good but long term it's a bad strategy for growth for the nation.

Let gad prices reflect world prices and we may have an efficient transportation system
