I normally say it... Love is essential in a relationship, but even much more, so is trust and transparency....giving your passwords to your guy/girl would help you to be accountable in a way... When you think of sending that "hey babe, I wish you were here" to another sidekick, you'd think twice.


But even giving your babe/guy your passwords doesnt still mean you won't cheat if you're a naturally pathological cheat...because you can have multiple accounts.

Yeah I agree with you, Trust is a virtue that grows, and with everything that grows or seeks to grow, a seed is required.. I think being open with your passwords to your partner is a seed sown in the "trust soil".... It's not the only seed though, it's just one of them.

I believe there are many ways to feed trust in a relationship and as you've so rightly said, the benefit of the doubt is one of such ways, but at the same time... Just being plain open and transparent is another way to foster trust... We all now how easily it is nowadays to form emotional connections and ties/bonds with people we've never met over different social media platforms, giving your partner your password would help to put you in check sort of... So when you start playing around those romantic borders with your female buddies on Facebook, you'd have it at the back of your mind that "my sweetness may see this, I better stop"

So I think at the basic level of fostering trust and transparency in a relationship, it's better fitting to give your partner your passwords.
