there is no such thing as a weak two one or a strong two one. All that is important is that you are a second class upper graduate. My brother graduated with 3.5 on the dot and he's doing very well in a bank. He has already been promoted twice so most importantly just get the two one and forget about the GPA. |

Yea,students use it to differenciate among themselves to show their worth. In the labour market,there's nothin like such..A first class is first class y a second class upper division is a second class upper of 3.5 n above. However,in students term, a weak first class is frm 4.5-4.69 and a strong first class is frm 4.7-5.0...Also a weak 2.1 is frm 3.5-3.99 y a strong 2.1 is frm 4.00-4.49....Lobatan.... 2 Likes 2 Shares |

The truth is that most certificate doesn't bear your CGPA on it unlike transcript, they only refer to the class range of CGPA. More so, when you get to a stage in your career, CGPA or it Class doesn't count any longer. You're left with your performance, skills, abilities and professional competence. SO WHAT THE HYPE? @OP: it exists on the mind of the bearer, probably a hang over of JAMB experience and they flaunt it to massage their ego (iwotago). I don't do that. 3 Likes 1 Share |

yes @OP, strong and weak Upper class degree exist but not officially A CGPA of 4.00 - 4.49 on a 5.00 point scale is considered a strong second class upper degree i remember checking entry the requirements for M.sc Sustainable Energy Engineering for University of Nottingham and one of the requirements was that applicants possessed a high 2:1 honors degree. Some would wonder why your transcript is required for some applications 1. To authenticate your certificate 2. To check your CGPA and grades in some specific courses In as much your certificate does not carry your CGPA, aim for a CGPA as high as possible because you don't know where it would give you an edge 1 Like 1 Share |
