Forget all this crap. Your Result is not what would define how intelligent. All those kids u are saying 2go dis, bbm dat are under-utilizing their potential. Just because you got an A in Maths as a Mathematics genius and F9 in english doesnt mean they are dullards. I remember i wrote my first Waec when i was 13 years old and failed all the subjects i kudnt just understand and passed all the the subjects i was damn bloody good at. To be Sincere, Nigerian Education System is a Joke to start with. Dont just bother, the president that will rule Nigeria from 2036 to 2040 is among those that failed this years' WAEC. Children don't read, parents don't have time to check their wards academic progress and depend on a report card. What will the future hold for individuals who are poorly educated? Entertainment does not build a nation education does, we have to reduced the TV and the socialisation of our children and put a book in their hands we have to increase the reward system for academic achievement. 1 Like |

coded01: Bros no lie. you know social media is the primary course of this mass failure. y blame the Government? na everything Government go do for us? or na GEJ go leave Aso rock come put book for their brain? let's learn to cut the government some slack when they deserve it and be the change we seek from the inside. this one no be APC or PDP fault. it's our own fault. abi na APC or PDP say make them reduce jamb cutoff? the Nigerian child is failing today because they do not read their books anymore. |

Obiwannn: Over indulgence in social media is one of the draw backs of the internet Nigeria. Just like any tool or useful resource, the internet can be abused and its advantages quickly become detrimental when used inappropriately. Such I believe is the case among the younger population in the country, time spent studying on the internet in comparison to time spent doing other things on the internet is grossly disproportionate hence the effect we are seeing now reflected in the waec results. The way out I believe is a form of "internet" re orientation. 1 Like |

Obiwannn: A lot of the 70% that failed to get 5 credits probably relied on fake expo instead of dilligent study. The competition to excel in academics in nigeria is dying down with every kid wanting to get rich quick by yahoo, "runs" or "trying" to go the way of olamide or tiwa savage forgetting that tiwa had a degree before we even knew her. Now factor in the fact that some parents even pay for invigilators to allow their kids cheat in exams and you wonder why 70% of kids won't rely on fake expo to their detriment. Also to buttress your point above, the internet has gradually reduced productivity in the world in general. https://www.nairaland.com/1192815/internet-reducing-productivity-world 2 Likes 2 Shares |
