A look at the major headlines in the national dailies on a daily basis paints a very gloomy picture of the country. If the status quo is maintained, things would only get worse I'm afraid. I know people will say let's pray so God can heal our land. He has heard our prayers already and that's why He has given us a way out. Instead of us to speak with one voice and effect the needed change to reposition this country for greatness again, we've allowed the same people that have inflicted us with this gloom, to divide us along ethnic and religious lines while they stay atop, share our commonwealth amongst themselves and laugh at us scornfully. Attached below is a screenshot from a top national daily, The Punch, for today the 6th of January, 2015. With this you can understand what I'm talking about better. As I write this, I am almost at the point of tears because this select few goons, cabals and their chief supervisor have so much bastardized our collective psyche as a nation that they throw straws at us in the form of old locomotive train engines that the Western world and even fellow African country, South Africa have long done away with ;and we instead come on here opening threads to celebrate this mediocrity. There are foreigners on this forum. We have become a laughing stock to them as they see how we jubilate and thank our wasteful government for giving us crumbs despite the huge wealth of this country, being the biggest economy on the continent. Please let us get it right this time. Do not allow them hoodwink us any further with empty promises as has being the culture. Stand up and look your oppressors in the face and say: "We can't take this no more". Singer Eldee's "Me I go Yarn" readily comes to mind. The power is in your thumbs. Use it to better your lot and that of the coming generation. Nigeria o ni baje oo. Cheers.

Such statement will only comes from a Yoruba man who are always waiting and hoping for crumbs of bread from the politicians, thats why they ar ready to die for their master and defend tinubu to their death. Whereas the igbo man is after his personal business that will move the economy and put more money into his pocket. Come to alaba international, idumota, trade fair, mushin et al nothing less than 2000 containers worth of goods are entering the market daily from foreign countries
I see gloom no where in nigeria. Every nation will surely pass thru such stage.
Wake up and smell the coffee gej is never ur problem.
Tinubu who is having 5 private jet at the cost of £60million each is ur problem

The person above should note that our economy presently is in shambles.

I don't know the Igbo men you are talking about who import with US dollar we were buying few weeks ago at #167 but presently #196( and are so happy?).

Maybe you can say Nigerians should be more enterprising but let's be objective sometimes.

Re-reading your post again, I can't help but clearly understood your ignorance. 200 Containers of goods at what cost?

We have a "trading arm" in what we do presently but believe me; majority of what we import today can easily be made or assembled in Nigeria!

So who are loosing? The unemployed graduate who should have been busy working in such establishments.

What promotes production above all is clear enabling environment. Do we have such presently? NO!

Do we have the capacity to create such enabling environment here in Nigeria, instead of the present 'dump' ground we had become? A big YES

Who are our leaders? What political decisions are they taking that directly affects me and you, one way or the other?

If their best is clearly not good enough, presently; it can never be out of place for any sane mind to seek/demand for alternative solution.

*Maybe those of us from South East are not Igbos simply because we can never be found in Idumota, Trade Fair or Alaba*

@Red oil, please stop giving the Igbo bad names...

I campaigned vigorously for Buhari in 2011 not because of any personal gain but we saw the present clueless FG from afar and I must say that its heart warming to realise that majority of Nigerians are now seeing what few of us perceived then.

...Let's give chance to a leader who can say no to official graft

What a bigoted and lost soul of a person you are. I am not surprised by you anyway. One of your bigoted elders said similar rubbish while the president was sitting there. Keep courting enemies in every corners of Nigeria and hope those people you insult all the time support you in the future. I know a lot of Igbos won't support the rubbish that just came from you.

You lost soul, I've always wondered if the Ijaws would have supported GEJ if he's Igbo but you saTANists don't see the true pix and always courting problems for Ndigbo amongst other Nigerians. Please always speak for yourself and not for others.
