@standd thank you my girl. My mom once told me that a man's money is addition to what you have. I have grown up to be an independent woman. Not waiting for any man to give me things. I buy what I need for myself. I go out there to look for jobs.

Presently when I lost my job. I didn't just sit down and wait for hubby to pay my bills. I went out there learning different skills. I people everyday that I can't see why women depend on a man. I hate insults. So I don't even ask a man for money.

Lmao...not cocky, and I might be everything else on this planet - but broke is definitely not one of it. Not the richest guy out there, but a hustler will always be able to afford everything he needs with a token extra to give out lol.

It is not even like I'm against giving out to people in serious need about something important. I just don't bums who feel it's an entitlement and their lazy ar.ses have to always be a pest everywhere. I'd rather give the needy than let some heaux su.ck my peez.

…AND LACK OF AMBITION

A friend told me, some weeks ago, how he was speaking to a class, most of them, workers and small business people.

He related the story of the top-paid CEOs in Nigeria. He said the highest paid earned over 160 million Naira per annum. And he was enjoining these people to work smart and aspire to even higher levels of greatness.

And then something happened.

Most of the females began laughing excitedly and more than a few asked if my friend had the number of the CEO. Why did they need the number, he asked. Of course, they wanted to get married to him, they chorused!

Now, my friend was understandably shocked!

Why did they not want to BE the highest paid? Why were they so much more interested in GETTING MARRIED TO an established person rather than CONTRIBUTING TO establishing a person? Why did they seem more in tune with the idea of TAKING value than ADDING value?

My friend told me about the incident and I corrected him. The highest paid CEO in Nigeria is Sola David-Borha, CEO Stanbic IBTC, and earning about 177 million Naira per annum.

That CEO, interestingly enough, is a WOMAN!

I have met some exceptionally gifted ladies. These ladies constantly seek to redefine the status quo and define new standards. They are busy building their dreams rather than slaving to build someone else’s while ignoring theirs. They are inspiring a whole new generation of young people, males and females alike.
But they are in the minority.

Most of the females I have met, on the other hand, are characterised by a marked lack of vision and ambition, purpose and goals. They are patiently waiting for a prince charming to come and solve all their problems for them. They are scoping the horizons, looking for that unlucky person upon whom they would automatically become a burden. They do not keep abreast on any local, national or international news of significance.

Their short term goal is finishing school; mid-term goal is getting married and long term goal is getting kids. Beyond that, they have no other plan.

But all females must understand that being a lady is not a license for being lazy, for having no vision and for keeping a ceiling on the range of possibilities capable of being achieved. Being a lady is never an excuse for lack of ambition.

LADY but not LAZY- that should be the watchword.

Hmmmmn. This is just on point, I just can't stand the attitude of people who ain't handicapped in any way but still refuse to work. Maybe, if men refuse to give some ladies money( if they haven't earned it judiciously), then ladies will start dusting their butts and getting to work smiley

This is not about Yahoo+ or Prostitution. It is about WOMEN learning to fend for themselves.

Preach on!!!

And let every of our worries not be about men, guys, boys.
It is ok to worry about them but they shouldn't be our priority smiley

Think of the next career workshop you will be attending.

Think of the next skill you will like to acquire.

Think of the next step you will be taking to make yourself more productive.

Think of the next item you will be adding to your CV.

Think of ways through which you can help the hungry, homeless etc around you.

Think of the next foreign meal you will be learning how to cook.

Think of the next certificate you will like to acquire.

There are so many things to think of other than boys or men and how to extort money from them.

And don't just think! Take a step forward! ACT! !!

I am speaking to myself as well.

I know right?

When will threads about 419ers, armed robbers and those who marry for papers make front page? Seems like nairaland has become more focused with "fixing women" and we have completely forgetten about "fixing" our future generations' fathers.
