Why did you put the tint in d first place

Go back to who put it. They will remove it.

Or read up on tint removal.

We should google up things most times.

Hope you haven't fed the cops with your illegal tint.

Cheers

Cynthia, methylated spirit, or paint thinners will remove the adhesive residue. Use a soft cloth.

Please do NOT use Omo, or any other abrasive compound, as they will destroy the heated rear screen element, besides scratching the glass.

Not very helpful bruh. It doesn't matter who applied the tints - Cynthia could have bought the car with the tint film already applied. Regardless of who did what, she needs advice in shifting the residue left from removal, that should be the primary focus.

As for Googling for solutions, it's responses on forums like this that feed Google, how else do you think they get indexed? If the general attitude was "ask Google", there would be nothing to Google, would there?

To make it little easier, you should allow the petrol to soak into the gum, then you leave it for a few seconds & wipe with a small clean towel.
Cover your seats & upholstery to avoid any stains.

had d same issues after removing tint at same position.

it took me up to 3hrs of hard work.

First I got methylated spirit for 200(though its not advised cos it cld damage that element that removes cloudiness from glass - according to my manual).

second, I got a sponge worth mild iron sponge attached.

I then scrubbed and scrubbed then washed immediately.

note: u wld definitely have a challenge accessing that spot behing d break light. u ll have to remove it (consult ur manual)

İ took of the tint at the rear glass of my Civic at Olu Obasanjo Road in PH. İ hated tints on car and has consistently refused to buy any car with tint for the same obvious reasons you posted. But, this car was a pre-order and the merchant delivered it with the tint and thought that he was doing me a favour. İ pulled the damn thing off even before inspecting the car and he was like WTF? İ then drove the car to PH where some guys came with a certain fluid and a pack of razor blades and scrapped off the gum residue while drabbing it with the fluid. İ paid İ think N1,500 for their services, but there was still residue tint/gum on the lower sides of the glass where their hands couldn't reach. Flustered, İ left the f**king thing like that. The glass is very clear now and works perfectly and the residue left is no obstruction as İ don't even see it when driving.

Was the tint inside the car or on the exterior?

razor and a short wood like ruler will do the magic for you. Bury one side of the razor into the ruler / short wood and ask somebody to direct you on how to move the razor / wood up and down, left and right

Drcynthia, Don't use sharp object or razor on the rear screen if you do, you might scrape and damage the in glass antenna imprint or defogger imprint lines running accross the rear screen.

My car is a coupé and as such the rear glass is more slanted than a regular sedan for improved aerodynamics and as such that bottom part of the rear glass is very tight...

You asked whether the tint was on the inside or outside & I said it was on the inside. I hope there's not wrong with my reply?

The guys in PH successfully removed most of the tint except those parts I circled in th pix without damaging the back windscreen defogger.
