It tastes very good
Spanish food has good flavor like our foods
Infact they are the only Oyibo foods I feel come closest to our foods
Their spanish yellow rice can substitute for our jollof rice very nicely

Paella. Better than our jollof rice. I would kill for the sea foods in it.

What happened?

My day was awful and then United screwed us over yesterday.

My day started not too good but I tried to find some level of positive calm. First, Comcast disconnected my internet / cable service. I was wondering why so I called them, they tried fixing it. I went home early because I was sick. Upon getting in, no internet... I called again, patiently spoke to the lady. She said it was signal issues, she said in five mins, it will come back. I said okay. I stepped out to take my mom to the airport. Meanwhile, we stopped along the way to get an item (gift) that cost much, lo and behold, the store did not have a box to put in the item. First I had to wait for like 15mins before someone could attend to me. When they did, there was no box. Rather than furious, I walked out.

Then o, as we began our trip to IAH, trip that was supposed to be 38mins turned out to be about 1hr and 20 mins. At this point, I was feeling angry now. You know Houston traffic is no JOKE. So when we FINALLY got to IAH, I parked and headed for International check in. It's hard enough that I could not check her in online (reason because she hasn't flown United before), that's fair enough because she's a British Airways Flier. I proceeded to check in and here comes the wahala.

The lady who checked us in was not ONLY rude and arrogant like as if I was the one who hired her. She had issue with the ticketing, whcih I corrected her that it was an eticket. Then the way she snapped the passport out of my hands and put it into the machine so that it can read the data. My sister, patience is a virtue. It took everything in me not to curse out at her. I ignored it and my mom was like, calm down. After the confirmation, next was baggage. She weighed the bags and each was like 60.5lbs, so I told my mom I am not paying $200 for each bag... Nke gini. She agreed.

We reduced everything in the three bags to about 50.5lbs. Do you know this lady told me the bags have to be exactly 50.0 or less, I thought she was joking o, she meant business. She made me open the bags and take out a few items. Meanwhile, my mom was surprised at her behavior. In fact, she attempted to look through my bags, that's when I stopped her and told her to mind her business. I was already ANGRY, but thank GOD I did not lash out. Afterwards, I requested to deal with another agent. The agent came over (man wearing a woman's clothing), he was sort of sassy. Even when I requested to lock the bags, he helped with the first, but the others, I had to do myself. Then he gave me the slips for the carry-on like "here" rolling his eyes like no man's business.

After we were done, I requested to speak with the manager on duty, he was like, "I don't know where he is, you can go around and ask if he's here or not". It was at that point I knew Khaki don turn leather. If you don't know where your manager is at, shouldn't you ask your colleagues, page him or even attempt and or pretend to look for him? What sorta rudeness is that? I was furious, angry and frustrated but in all, I did not say a word.

Then TSA wahala came, in fact, I give up on international travel.

Meanwhile, thanks to Comcast, I have no cable, no internet... Nothing in my house works. When I got in, I called again, the man apologized like 5x, and told me it's probably a cabling issue. I told him I just need my signals back because I work from home. Then he said he will send out a technician this morning. If the tech looks at the problem, he will determine if I will get billed or not. Before he even continued, I stopped him and asked why he should even mention that word knowing that the signals is a Comcast problem.

In all, though I was angry, frustrated, pissed off, I am thankful to GOD that I am dropping my old ways. Had it been two years ago, I would have used this good mouth of mine to tell that United Lady the business.

Eyaah... Sorry bro Manny, I had to take time to read your story... When I first saw United, I thought you were referring to Manchester United and in my mind, I was like "Dah hell...!"

I'm not conversant with travels and airway policies though so I can't say much about that but it's really good you were able to control your temper cos if I was the one, well, the lady would have excused herself to go home and cry.

I wish I could just walk into your apartment and give you a hug and cook you some good goat peppersoup
What you just described would make anyone livid and the weather today didn't help matters

Safe journey to your mom

Chai, i don suffer. cheesy No be small mummy chillisauce cheesy cheesy grin

For a start, healthy eating is that your big eba, divide it into two, that your soup, add same size with more fish.

The vegetables and more protein, should be like 70% of the meal while eba, rice of any carb should be 30%

good to know you are better. smiley
