Hi fellows! Glad to join this wonderful forum of lion owners. l found this forum last three days and mad it upon myself to read all the threads. My appreciation to lkenna for his selfless service.

However, last week my lion started overheating with the stop sign beeping. A mechanic detected a faulty fan and made me replaced it. Having gone through this forum from page 1, l now realised that the man had connect the fan to work non stop and ofcours removed the t stat. I now suffer from all the attendant effects of his actions as mentioned by lkenna in many of his post. Can anybody pls name a place l can scan my lion in Jos?

You may have to acquire your own PP2000. It's a necessary tool for any modern Lion owner. I sell the scan tool. If you need it, contact me off the forum.

You also need to watch my DVD to understand your lion better, including basic preventative maintenance tips on lions. Here is the link that explains the need for the DVD: https://www.nairaland.com/1942595/dvd-how-prevent-breakdown-expensive

The VIN you provided its not correct. Besides, it should be 17 digit, not 18.

Afternoon guys, just joined this forum and am hoping to be helped. The oil level sensor cable for my 406 prestige EW10 engine got disconnected from the level sensor (located at the oil pan - called bottom plate), as a result the male socket got broken and left the cable hanging.
Three cables with colours - yellow, red and white; now have gotten another socket (not the exact, but a fitting male socket)but I don't know how to have the cables connected in the right way. Tangible response will be highly appreciated

What you have is Oil temperature and oil level sensor, because the sensor does dual work, since yours is EW engine (even if you don't have oil temperature gauge on instrument panel).

You will find these 3 codes/numbers on the 3 wires: 414, 411 & 415. These numbers are stamped on the wires.

The connector I also numbered: 1,2 & 3. The connection on the connector should be like this:

Pin 1: 414 (Green).

Pin 3: 411 (Red).

Pin 4: 415 (White).

* The pin 1 should be the ground, meaning, it will either be green or green with yellow stripe colour.

I believe this will help. If you still can't connect it and you stay in Abuja, bring it to me.

Am in Enugu rite now but will be back soon; however, is d pin 1 to be inserted starting from d left or from d rite with respect to the female socket on d oil pan?

The male connector/socket determines the pin one. Check the newly purchased socket. You should see the numbering of the pin on it. Irrespective of the wire colours, the numbering are the same, as long as the Socket is from a Lion. The socket can only go in one way, so the position of pin 1 will always be the same.

407 is as good as every other lion.

It cost about 2m or 2m+, depending on the model and the state. You can get the phase 1 lower than 2m though.

Hello House, so here is the problem. My 406 V6 model fails to pick when trying to accelerate. It really drags, especially from 1st - 2nd gear (sometimes it even jerks). My Mechanic is suggesting its the catalytic converter as it is repressing the engine and needs to be changed. He has checked the plugs and all seems okay. I'm still very much in doubt though. So, my question is this?, Can't afford the CATS for now as the mechanic says it costs about 30k, will there be any effect/s if i remove the CATS without replacing it immediately.. Thank House, awaiting response

I am surprised that no point in your post you mentioned you scanned the car.

Please, that ES9J4S engine was not designed to be troubleshooted with guess work or trial and error method you are metting out on it. Whatever that is causing the hesistation and sluggish running is/stored in the engine ECU. ALL you need is to plug in PP2000 and deal with the culprits reported. A lot of sensors or components would give your sypmtoms when faulty.

If you are in Abuja, conatct me off forum to discuss when to bring the car to me to carryout PP2000 session on that Lion.

Hi Ikenna, I have looked everywhere in Ibadan for the MFD but can't find it. Please can u be of help in buying it? Sending it down to Ibadan? I would appreciate it. Please can we arrange this? Cheers!

It sounds like the MFD (Multifunction Display) is faulty. Replace it with another. Cost about 2k. Heat seems to be the killer of the MFD.

My concern is what if I help you by buying a used one here in Abuja, send it to you, you mount it and it refused to work. What will happen? You will return it to me to get you another omw or refund your money, right? That's what I am not comfortable with . You can't know how good an MFD is until you mount it in the lion. And I am not ready for that stress that goes with returning and resending stuff. I hop you understand. Good morning.

Hello house I just noticed something on my 206. I discovered that when I am on speed and probably want to come to halt, the engine goes off when I step on the clutch pedal. I have to re start again. On two occasions it refused to start after all and I had to leave for a long before it started working again. Please I am kinda confused and I will need some help
