Please evryone or anyone ..do help out..
I have years of experience in
teaching and hostelparenting.. I am male and I
would not mind an offer of hostel-master or
houseparent anywhere around lagos although
would prefer the island or mainland but if I can get
hostelparent/housemaster offer anywhere else I
would appreciate.
I can teach any subject in junior secondary apart
from languages n religion. And can teach
geography in senior secondary.. I am also good in
logistics and administration.. As well as people
management .. I am not a novice in the edu field at
all so if anyone has any good offer I would b
exceedingly glad to take it up. Thanks a lot.

Ofumaria:

my first interview was at Ogun, I goofed seriously. I did not divide the board into two, no date, no topic and to top it I was not talking to my students (interviewers). They told me they way I was teaching I could only teach University undergraduates.
After, the interview I was not selected as usual "we would get back to you" was the words the panel used.

Second interview, Kai! That when I knew unemployement is real and my 180k for a start disappeared. See crowd. Simple questions but the major thing they were looking at was those that could prepare lessons note which one of the invigilator told us............ I messed up. I no bother go back to the school, as I reach house na im I carry my mama lesson note begin dey study as if na final year exams I wan write.

Third interview, I knew I was going to kill them, I passed the test, lesson note but goofed again at micro teaching, why? I was not vast with the topic I selected (respiration) but this time I was confident, ruled the board, wrote the date and topic, but did not make the list.

Fourth interview, I prepared well, corrected all my mistakes. Interview started with waec, I did not prepare for it at all, dem no call me- meaning I failed.

Note:I did not give up, I fell, I dusted myself up and tried again and in the process learnt and after each interview, I went back to look at my mistakes

Finally, I was coming from one of those frustrating interviews where they would drill you like say them wan pay you 1m, with two different panels. I just decided to log on to Nairaland and saw one advert and I applied by calling the number. I was asked to come to the school immediately. Right there and there I was given a micro teaching, na vexation I use finish the topic with confidence, this time mistakes made were corrected. The interviewer was shocked and was amazed that I did not teach while serving, how come I was able to perform exceptionally well? I answered, "I try to be the best in anything I want to do". He stared at me, looked at my resume and ask, if I can write a lesson plan, I replied, no sir. He fired another question in my discipline, I just laugh for my mind, the same question they asked in the just concluded waec examination, I aced it. As usual, the question applicants do not like came up. How much do you intend to earn?
Me: sir, let me think. Am I working at present? No, do I need the job yes, why? I do not have any work experience and am tired of staying at home. All of these were questions running in my head. He told me, they were offering 30k........ I grabbed it with both hands.
After a year, I was at IPAJA with accomodation 50k. I got another offer at Owode!!!! I picked the former. Less I forget, lesson dey involve o, I take in say between 75-90, just 8-4 with accommodation, no traffic, not that my Banker friend that does 5-10. There is money in teaching, especially if you know your onions well.

Get A Lucrative Teaching Job (salary Between N100,000-N350,000) by akubudejud(m): 10:10am
LEARN HOW YOU CAN GET A LUCRATIVE TEACHING JOB IN AN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL IN NIGERIA

Sometimes last year I wrote on how teaching job is fast becoming lucrative in Nigeria here on Nairaland platform though some folks disagree with me but am glad that numerous Nigerians saw the write-up as an eye opener in the teaching profession. However after that write up I realize that many despite the various teaching jobs openings everyday still need this information to support their interest and quest.

To comprehend this write-up however, you may first read https://www.nairaland.com/1517304/teaching-job-now-hot-cake .

Like I will always say that this write up is not to advertise any establishment or an avenue to showcase my writing skill but to give a helping hand to those that possess the burning desire to teach in a reputable school especially in an international school in Nigeria that pays well. I did not claim to know everything here but with my little knowledge in the field I believe someone life will be touched for good.
Now let me start by letting you know that I studied Geophysics and not pure education initially but I realized my potentials during my youth service year and I decided to develop myself in the teaching and mentoring profession moving on to acquire educational and professional qualifications including a PGDip Ed and M.Ed and other National and international recognized teaching certification and really today I am glad and happy for my decision even do it was almost late before the decision was made.

CLARIFICATION BETWEEN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS AND OTHER SCHOOLS.

Before I proceed however, I will like to make it clear that it is not all the school using the word ‘International’ as part of their nomenclature are indeed international in the real sense of it many of them are not (AISEN) Association of International School Educators of Nigeria, although they are very good schools good enough to start your teaching career any time, we have hundreds of them all over Nigeria . But I will want to talk about the AISEN schools. Visit www.aisenconference.com or www.aisengroup.org to get the picture.

The AISEN schools runs Nigeria, British and America curricula, some of these schools run just British or America curriculum alone and they are all over Nigeria, they operate different salary structures for their staff and provide training for them both locally and international wise exposing them to the dynamic world of 21st century education. The method of teaching is computer based with the use of ICT and modern instructional facilities, to the best of my knowledge the salary ranges between N100,000 - N350,000 sometimes excluding accommodations and other benefits which may vary from one school to the other for subject teachers and even more for the position of Academics Coordinators, various departmental heads, Academic Directors ,Pastoral directors/Head, Vice principal , Principal etc, I must also quick to mention here that teaching job is not the only opening in these schools there are positions like Laboratory technologist/technicians, Pastoral jobs for House or Hostel parents ,sport coaches, Students counselors, Nurses/Matrons etc. apart from the medical jobs mentioned, all others must first and foremost be a qualified and certified teacher too.

Some of these schools include:

Nigerian – Turkish International College
Capital Science Academy (CSA)
Grange School lagos
Corona Secondary School – Agbara
St. Gregory”s College
Olashore International School (OIS)
Lumen Christi International High School – Uromi,
Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls
Loyola Jesuit College
Day waterman college ASU Ogun State.
Dowen College Lagos.
Atlantic Hall Epe Lagos
British International School.(BIS)
Redeemers International school Lagos.
Bloombred International secondary school Portharcourt.
Temple school Lagos.
Meadow Hall School.
Pampers School
Greensprings school
Lekki British International High School, Lekki Phase One

And many more that cannot be mention here. See http://titithedynamite.

WHAT YOU MAY NEED TO QUALIFY TO TEACH IN THESE SCHOOLS?

It is important to note that each of these schools has their own recruitment policies which is personal and specific to them, but I will base the general qualities you need on the following:

1. BE QUALIFIED AS A PROFESSIONAL: It is a known fact that we live in a dynamic world where things changes every day and teaching profession is not excluded, to work in these schools require some educational qualifications and professionalism and if your first degree is not in education then you need to upgrade by acquiring one, for example get your PGDip.Ed in addition to your Bsc /HND /B.Tech /BA, except you are a graduate of NCE, Dip .Ed , Bsc (Ed) or B.Ed .

The additional certification can be obtain in our various universities, colleges of Educations or better still the National Teachers Institute (NTI) and the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) the two mentioned last seems to be faster, cheaper and well recognized. Through the NTI you may be registered automatically as certified/registered teacher with the Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).

Other international certification like the International Baccalaureate (IB), International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), Cambridge International Examination (CIE) SAT, TOEFL etc. Will be an added advantage for your quest; although, many schools provides training for their staff in order for them to acquire these certifications so never border yourself much on this except if you can afford it.

2. BE READY TO RELOCATE: You must be ready to relocate any time to any part of the country when the oportunities avails itself, as many of these schools are scattered all over Nigeria though we can find many of them around Lagos, Abuja, Abeokuta, Portharcourt, Ibadan, Offa, Enugu etc.

3. BE A CERTIFIED/REGISTERED TEACHER: Endeavour to be registered with a teaching professional body in Nigeria e.g TRCN and other relevant bodies.

4. PACKAGE YOUR CV WELL: So many of us miss it here because your CV is the first to represent you and when it is wrongly done even if you are qualified the job still remain far from you. These schools showcases good and well trained Human Resources personnel to scrutinized this. Let it always be known to them through your CV that you are passionate to help the children to develop their potentials and the various positive changes you will bring to the school.

5. BE CONFIDENT: Be sure of your self don’t pretend you know everything but be confident that you will impact positive changes to the life of the young ones, when you are interview never allow your take home or salary be the main focus but don’t appear too cheap.

6. GATHER EXPERIENCE: Little, little experiences will take you there because not very many get the job without any teaching experiences, some schools may recruit fresh graduate for training and empowerment but you don’t need to wait for that so gather the experience even starting with your NYSC year if you are fortunate to serve in a school, even then get some experience.

7. BE READY TO START SMALL: Be ready to start small even in that Mushrooms school you felt is nothing could actually be the stepping stone to a better placement gather experience from teaching and use the period to develop yourself academically as these will go a long way to prepare you for any interview with International schools it doesn't really matter how much you are paid at the moment.

8. BE INTERNET FRIENDLY AND COMPUTER LITERATE: Things are fast done through the internet nowadays because 95% of the international schools do their businesses through the internet, this include job opening adverts, application processing and even aptitude test. Subscribe to educational job alert as this will keep you abreast of the numerous job openings every day.

Finally, I will like to end here by saying that Joblessness could lead to frustration...Until you start to teach you wouldn't know you are a good tea

For those who need guide on preparation of a lesson note
The key component of a lesson note are Behavioral objective, content, presentation,A brief description of a
lesson note..it is a plan design by a teacher to achieve stated edu obj.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
It important cos it as a
guide and other teacher can use it to
teach when u are not available
NOW LET GO TO EACH
COMPONENT OF A LESSON NOTE
*******behavioral
objective is very vital..it a statement
of intended action/what you
ought to achieve at the end of the lesson..

********CONTENT

Instructional material are tools/ materials that aid teaching.Instructional

For a large class,it
adviceable to use instructional materials that appeals to both sight and
sound...A projector is
suitable in this case..
For a small class,chart
place in front of the class is suitable etc Now Let assume u are teaching transportation/money to j.s class..it preferable u get a
chart displaying the diffrent mode of
transportation/
denomination of
d naira currency for them to understand the class better.
If you are teaching
accounting ,let say Final accounts.it important to
get copies of p n l acct/balance
sheet of any plc so that the student will know how a pnl or balance sheet looks like..
Finally.instructionl
materials make lessons more
interesting

****PRESENTATION
This are step u will take during the course of the lesson to
achieve ur stated
objective.it should be in line with ur behavioral objective Let assume you are teachng database and in the previous class you taught the class
Computer Your
presentation will go thus,

***STEP1: The teacher ask the following question from the
previous class
a.what is a computer
b.state 2 use of computer
c.list ten users of
computer
***STEP2:the
teacher introduce the lesson by defining
what a database is
***STEP3: The teacher
gives advantage and
disadvantage of
database
***STEP4: The teacher
state the importance of database
***STEP 5:The teacher
summarises the whole lesson and welcome questions from student
********EVALUATION
Your evaluation must be in line with ur behavioral objective..if
you intend to achieve four objective in the course of ur
lesson,ur evaluation must have four questions.
Let assume our behavioral objectives are..
