If you are not prepared for Christ, you will be Left Behind. No body will enter Heaven by suprise. Jesus said it's better to make Heaven with one eye and one hand than to enter hell with both eyes and hands. Not everybody will have to die before being transformed/taken up e.g. those who will be taken up at the rapture.
Elijah kind of 'raptured'. So did Enoch.

However, John-the-Baptist never knew he was Elijah. When the Jews asked him, he denied it.
