Re: Club-Lexus by Nobody: 2:11pm On Feb 18, 2015 |
lomomike: I'll have these available in Ibadan starting next Friday http://sales.kuluso.com/shop/diagnostic-tool/obdii-bluetooth-scan-tool/ It requires an Android phone. Once you but a scanner, from any source, record those codes down, then clear the codes and drive you car and wait to see what codes come back. You can search online for OBD2 code translations. Or you can post it on here and good folks can help you decipher. |

Re: Club-Lexus by mdenigma(m): 3:36pm On Feb 18, 2015 |
lomomike: Yes,I intend ordering online. I reside in kaduna. However, the ones I found on konga range between 6k and 60k. I definitely won't go for a pricey one.what brand can one use for basic troubleshooting. Thanks |

mdenigma: Have you contacted CityNG? He stays in US but will be in Nigeria soon. His handle is www.nairaland.com/cityNG Why not shoot him a mail? |
Re: Club-Lexus by mdenigma(m): 8:27pm On Feb 18, 2015 |
CityNG: @ CityNG, I'm interested in the bluetooth scanner. I'd appreciate if you can ship one down to kaduna for me. Let me know what it takes. Thanks |
Re: Club-Lexus by Nobody: 8:29pm On Feb 18, 2015 |
mdenigma: Unfortunately I have no resource to ship internally in Nigeria currently. At least in a way to guarantee quality of delivery. |
Re: Club-Lexus by mdenigma(m): 8:47pm On Feb 18, 2015 |
CityNG: I suppose you ship to Lagos from the states. Can I get someone to pick up from Lagos. If yes, how do we go about the transaction. |

Re: Club-Lexus by kakameks: 9:06pm On Feb 22, 2015 |
Hi all, Pls wats your average mpg for your cars? i did a check on mine and got 12.5mpg (city driving with some traffic) which is very poor. Lexus 2004 RX330 AWD. No warning light on dash. I did the check by filling the tank to the brim drove around for three days and topped it again while checking the miles and quantity of fuel to refill. The on board reader showed 11.8mpg. Is this same for those with same engine size or same model? |
Re: Club-Lexus by Nobody: 9:15pm On Feb 22, 2015 |
kakameks: Hmmmm. This is strong o! 11.8mpg? Do you tow aeroplane or what? |
Re: Club-Lexus by Nobody: 9:26pm On Feb 22, 2015 |
thonerow: P0330=> knock sensor P1150=> Air fuel ratio sensor Bank2 Sensor1, P1354=> Variable Valve Timer system malfunction bank 2 P1663=> Oil Control Valve circuit bank 2. Hmmm, did you recently carry any repair, modification, alteration servicing, washing of your engine? Get ready to see hectic work, be prepared to spend money. |
Re: Club-Lexus by kakameks: 6:46am On Feb 23, 2015 |
lomomike: Guy i weak ooooo What mpg do u get for yours? I dont tow anything i dont carry any weight aside the usual jack, spare etc. By the way i love the ride. First time owning a v6 engine and dont see myself going back to a four cylinder engine anytime soon. I get goose bumps thinking wat the v10 engine can do, if am this impressed with a "ordinary" v6! |
Re: Club-Lexus by Nobody: 7:01am On Feb 23, 2015 |
kakameks: In city even with gridlock, I get 18mpg some times it gets to 18.X mpg (where X= 1,2,3,...9) Highway, I get anything between 24-26mpg. I've done up to 29mpg before when coasting down hilly areas with little or no throttle input. I have a light foot on that car and I make sure my tachometer don't go beyond 3 (3000 rpm) when I'm above 100km/hr Stop abusing that V6 as ordinary V6 joor .

Re: Club-Lexus by kakameks: 7:04am On Feb 23, 2015 |
Checked online and some suggestions was to change air filter and plugs. I recently checked mine though and both were ok. Another idea is to reset the ecu so that it can relearn my driving habit. Though since i got the rx i've been watching my mpg meter to ensure a good reading. |
Re: Club-Lexus by Nobody: 7:22am On Feb 23, 2015 |
kakameks: Yes, change filters, plugs too but use OEM recommended parts. You should reset its ECU. Hope you can reprogram its auto glass wind down and up operation, its auto set seats, audio system settings? |
Re: Club-Lexus by Jagermeister(m): 6:42pm On Feb 23, 2015 |
thonerow: This is pretty basic. Your transmission is either broken or your fuel pump is not supplying to the engine as much fuel as it requires. At third gear, I believe your car can achieve as much as 100km/h and then it could get as much as 5-6,000 rpm without changing gears. If u haven't changed your ATF in a while, I suggest you drain & replace with original briscoe ATF. I used to have a similar problem on my ES but it was on first gear. Ultimately, you might have to work on your transmission or replace your fuel pumps. |

Re: Club-Lexus by 1Emmy: 11:25pm On Feb 23, 2015 |
Please my good people of Nairaland. I bought RX350 recently but the problem is that the power boot is not opening. Is not opening . The boot does not open unless you open it from inside. The controller was removed. Who can help me and fix this properly. |
Re: Club-Lexus by Nobody: 9:13am On Feb 24, 2015 |
chukel: Trouble Code: P0746 A/T Pressure Control Solenoid 'A' Circuit Malfunction Possible Causes: *Low transmission fluid level *Dirty transmission fluid *Faulty line pressure solenoid valve *Line pressure solenoid valve harness is open or shorted *Line pressure solenoid valve circuit poor electrical connection *Line pressure control system is damaged or it has failed *Output speed sensor (secondary speed sensor) has failed *Input speed sensor (primary speed sensor) has failed *TCM has failed Your gearbox might have gone to heaven. What did you do? Did you repair, alter or sevice the gearbox? If yes, what ATF did you use? Did kazeem do something to your car? |
Re: Club-Lexus by maballack(m): 12:55pm On Feb 24, 2015 |
Guys need your tips and advice on 05/06 gx470. The rainy season is fast approaching and am scared what the water pond(river) usually on my road during such season would do to my IS250 AWD. So I need advices Offered same along with an 08/09 ML 350. Same price bracket According to my mech. Pros. ground clearance. Siting capacity Height adjustment Cons It's a V8 as compared to the ML a V6( fuel consumption wise ) Said generally the maintenance and reliability was basically same. And for the Benz, all he said was that benz is a statement So at least I want to get first hand opinion from Lexus users. As to what they face. And if you would support my choice of getting one. Please be sincere with your experiences. Plz thanks guys |
Re: Club-Lexus by Nobody: 1:50pm On Feb 24, 2015 |
maballack: Built like a tank. You can go to negreb desert, mohave desert, sahara desert, swamp forest and mangroove forest with it and, climb zuma rocks, and Aso rocks yet, come home, wash it, and go for a romantic candle lit dinner with madam and she wont know you went haywire cos the truck compliments your purple labelled bowtie. The V8 is 280bhp i think due to the addition of VVT-i in this year model. Previous year model were 230bhp. But its got good torque, and decent acceleration of 8.1 secs for a heavy body on frame truck. If you love offroading, go thru these spec data: Water Fording depth 700mm Max (whearas a GL and a G class has 600mm Max fording depth, i watched a youtube Video of a 2014 model Toyota Landcruiser in which the driver claimed it was stock, yet it will do 100mm ford depth 4WD system: AWD with selectable modes Angle of: (degrees) Approach 30-31 Departure 25-29 Minimum ground clearance 210mm Its got KDSS/Airs which is basically an Air Suspension which can lower/kneel the rear to act like a camel for easy loading and offloading of cargos, and easy entry/exit of occupants. And also vary the height of the vehicle at certain speed it also modulates the pressures of the struts to minimize body rolls when going round corners CONs: Airs suspensions are expensive to fix when they go bad, people replace theirs with spring coilovers, V8 mighty fuel guzzler. Rev am, 10litre disappear. Its not in anyway pleasant to drive if you're a hardcore driver. You end up flippin it due to its CofG. Complicated electronic systems. Mechos are scared of that truck, children get nightmares, police and drug law guys might think they've got a new "friend in da block" (na play i dey play o) |
Re: Club-Lexus by maballack(m): 2:37pm On Feb 24, 2015 |
It's the kdss/air suspension fears that worry me most. That's why am asking current users how it goes. |
Re: Club-Lexus by Nobody: 2:58pm On Feb 24, 2015 |
maballack:I know someone who has used he's for 3 years running. He'll just pack all his 6 children, wife and plenty load off to or from Malafutori LGA. Nothing has happened to his KDSS or AIRS. Use it bro! |

Pls anyone with ideas on how to fix my factory cd player in my lexus rx330? Just left my little son for just a minute to open my gate and on getting back in the car he had a disc from the player in hand. On close observation i realise the remainig cd inside can not eject. I reinserted the one my boy removed it accepted it but displayed error 4 and packed up refusing to play or change disc or load or eject. I then dismantled the player and removed the two stuck cd's. Now it shows that all six loader are full but there are no cd in them. All other function still work just the cd player so any ideas were it can be fixed? |
Re: Club-Lexus by Nobody: 8:57am On Feb 25, 2015 |
kakameks: I can't say I find it funny keeping a child in a car unattended to especially in the front seat even if its for a second. A lot of things could go awfully wrong. Open your bonnet, open the fusebox, remove a radio fuse and wait 20minutes then reinstall the fuse back. It will reset the audio system. Try pressing the eject button to eject all CDs before removing fuse. However, if you can't eject them, proceed to fuse removal wait reinstall process after which you can try to remove the CDs. 2 Likes |

1Emmy:Sorry for the delay bro, I just noticed your thread curtesy so much activities I've been doing. Did anyone carry out any repair operations on the boot or its electronic control system? What made the controller to be removed? If you have pictures of the parts removed or area where it was removed from pls upload it here let's solve this issue. |
