Gbawe: Exactly, my family are the only reason I'm even so invested in Nigerian politics, at the rate they're going I know paying pensions will become a problem - education will get worse, the economy will get even worse and guess who will have to support them? What will my younger ones inherit? At least living abroad, I can reason objectively without thinking of one uncle or aunt politician in a party that I feel an obligation to support. Each time I visit Nigeria everyone has lost more weight, gotten darker and look less healthy, the elder ones are losing eyesight like dogs because the health system is poor at prognosis, people are dying of preventable diseases. I'm lugging tons of items that should be easily sourced back home even fruit! A pot of grapes cost £10 in Nigeria! One apple costs £1, when are we going to realize this is ridiculous! Those I speak to believe that GEJ has performed poorly, this is because PDP have become comfortable - we remember when Yaradua died and they refused to relinquish power, we remember the subsidy scandal, we remember the kidnappings in naija delta, we remember the promises made and never delivered we know they should not be rewarded. Until we send this message incumbents are never going to do right by the masses, it's become the battle of the youngest, the finest, the most fluently spoken, the better liar instead of the most competent. 3 Likes |

inme: Those demonstrators are simply exercising their democratic rights. They did NOT throw pebbles, neither did they throw bombs or chop off people's heads like supporters of Buhari. That is why education--still lacking where people of the dark age are--is very important in driving a 21st century Nigeria, particularly 2015 and beyond. And, most importantly, why some people are simply not fit to be on that seat. |

Look at the shameless touts singing Dorobucci during a protest. GEJ and his supporters keep embarrassing Nigeria. They can't even get educated, sensible people to come protest. This is because sensible, intelligent people don't support this useless government. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfaiH1Oro24 |

uncle005: I am not surprised at your revelation at all. It would have to be a very wicked Nigerian, if he/she is getting on progressively in the UK courtesy of good governance, who would agitate for the continuation of leadership that has let our fellow Nigerians down badly to the extent many live without dignity, self-respect or pride. 2 Likes |

my observation from the two groups. the supporters of GMB were mainly men and women advanced in age who might have witnessed buhari's regime and are clamouring for his return while on the other hand i see the protesters as young igbo and ghanians who doesnt know anything about Gmb and who might have ran away from nigeria as a result of PDP terrible policies. from their dressings too we know the responsible group. NB my opinion tho |

There's absolutely nothing wrong or new in this protest. After all it's no news there are GEJ supporters everywhere just as Buhari has his. Except the hullaballoo is because it's been done in London. There are TANoids on this forum that reside in London who will be glad to lend their support to any rally against Buhari. In life there are very many people averse to change in any form in a system maybe because the status quo favours their equation. Let them protest, what will be will be and what will not be will not be. |

badesco: No one told you GMB is our messiah. Nigerians do not even have the right to seek a messiah given how badly the PDP has destroyed Nigeria over 16 years. Yet Buhari can begin our march in the right direction. You cannot not be serious if you are suggesting we should persevere with a proven failure like GEJ because "GMB is not the messiah". You must always remember the saying of Albert Einstein that "the definition of madness is doing things the same way yet expecting a different outcome". We will give Buhari a chance and replace him at earliest opportunity if he fails to perform. What Nigeria cannot afford to do is persevere with GEJ because he will destroy our nation completely. This is someone who destroyed Nigeria totally when crude sold at $100 -$110 per barrel almost the entire 5 years he has been President now we should give him another 4 years when all is currently selling for $50 per barrel and expected to stay that way for 5 years or more? Think of generations unborn. GEJ put us in this position where we now have no choice but to give Buhari a chance. 2 Likes |

The protesters are 98% from a particular region in Nigeria. You can find them shouting at newspapers stand or any other place political event is being discussed against GEJ or in favour of Buhari. It is as if their life depends on it. Another person they hate with cruel hatred is OBJ. They have become tools in destroying Nigeria political structure. Abacha patronized them a lot. IBB used them as an information machinery after the June 12 was annulled. Their traditional rulers benefited immensely from solidarity visit to Abacha. They don't see anything wrong in ZIK or Alex Ekueme contensting election at 70 because if permitted Zik would have still contested in 1987 and Ekueme in 2007. They make the loudest noise at any activity favouring other people. Most of the protest noise and actions are masterminded by them during OBJ. After the fuel subsidy rally in Lagos, they formed pro government rally agent carrying out rally in support of government. They protested against the trial of Oduah, Diezani Madueke and others. They formed a protest group that protested in support of government inaction on Chibok girls abduction. What is surprising is that they were supported by the law enforcement agent when they collided with other civil coaltion fighting injustice on Oduah's open roberry and Chibok girls abduction. Recently in Germany, during the campaign tour of GEJ in Nigeria they protested. Looking at them and from their antecedents you know where they come from. A lot of them are in europe jobless and frustrated. Some are into begging and other form of crime to survive. They are known in most european countries and even in Asia and US. They gave Nigeria bad name. It is not surprising after they say GMB is sick to the point of death in an hospital in London, the same people collected money to demonstrate. They are wasting their time. The intelligence unit of the British high commission in Nigeria is aware of their activities even before Newspaper published it in Nigeria. Press officers in diplomatic mission sends daily political reports home. The intelligence wing of the APC has also alerted the embassy even before the nation published it. For jobless, frustrated and for some Nigerian criminals in London at least 100 pound today is a big cash to survive. I congratulate them. This is the most expensive political campaign in the history of Nigeria. They really spend the oil money. In every state of Nigeria, they are the greatest political spenders. The money they spent in South West for Afenifere, Afenifere Renewal Group, OPC (Gani adams and Fasehun) and others are wasted money. The only achievement is the coming together of Gani Adams and Fredrick Fasehun who never agreed on anything but only on GEJ support. Money can do anything. They should organise another demonstration in New York during the 70th Anniversary of UN. Wastage of time. They did not demonstrate against corruption being perpetuated by by their sisters and brothers because, they believe it is their turn to steal and if they must steal they must do it greatly. Well done. 2 Likes |
