Pick from the boss.

But I am afraid of the current price now. It's kinda high if you ask me.

I had a dream that it will soon "go down low".

grin grin

You are right sir but at the same time u might be wrong. The price is still below their normal book value and factoring their dividend yield on the other hand. At that price, its still very cheap but Mr. Market has d final say.

Are u sure of their present book value and u can hold sway on their dividend yield to replicate itself this yr? like u said, market has the final say. Time will tell too.

Our final word is that the market had its final say. And if my hear say is right (But it is hear say as usual...), don't be surprised to see more than 14% dividend yield on some banking stocks due to their all time low prices. Time will tell but not that far.

Whether dividend or no dividend, bonus or no bonus, market will still go down, it will be better for those companies that want to declare their result with dividend payment to hold on till after election, then any announcement they makes after election will be a driving force to push the market price up.

I will recommend these for now...but not a must buy!

Diamond
Uba
Zenith
FCMB
Transcorp (nonbanking)
I hope it is for jijo group, mainly short time jijo masters, and sometime jijo member might turn to jisp member. Bull and bear will show up within this month of march, but bear will win this month match, it is better to jump in during the bear period, because it will vist all the stock price from the greatest to the least.

stock investment is one of the best investment I have ever seen that will keep one moving, but I will not advise anybody to buy now, keep your money with you, or keep your money in the bank or keep it with your stockbroker in your account with them, there are higher number of good stock to buy when the election bear will vist. The advance country with their advance idea/knowledge has pull out from Nigeria stock hoping to enter after election, due to fear of unknown of what will be the out come of Nigeria general election schedule to hold on 28 march 2015, therefore join us to pick stocks at the cheaper rate for both short time and long time investment as election bear vist this month and as it last.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by pdozie: 10:26am On Mar 04, 2015
Guys, ure advice please:
During the bear period, I keyed into FCMB and GTB. Now looking at my portfolio (Meritrade) FCMB is on 8.84% (5.8k) and GTB 17% (4.7k).
As you can see the actual profit not high (of course due to amount of capital used to invest). My queston is: is it advised to sell now or still wait considering that there would be charges/commisions to be taken off? And also considering that the profits may erode if bears sets in again - Election fever...

Cheers

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by megainvest: 10:47am On Mar 04, 2015
pdozie, It depends on how much profit you can lock in. Is the figure reasonable enough for you? Remember to also consider the trading costs incurred when you bought and when you will sell.

We can only postulate that the prices will drop due to election but the market may also surprise you assuming the big investors make a surprise move before elections.

FCMB is on 8.84% (5.8k) - 8.8% is the percentage gain. while 5.8k is the naira worth. Apply same to the other.

However, I would like to warn that this bull session is not the best to buy but the next retracement. Watch out for new lows, good corporate action etc. Those of us that were disobedient to the voice of the prophets are the ones harvesting now. We planted as the opportunities presented themselves. grin Election is not Armageddon. It will come and go. I agree with you my dear prophet, that it will present buying opportunites.
