What The Earth Would Look Like If The Planets Were As Close As The Moon by johnydon22(m): 11:35am On Mar 20, 2015
ever looked up at the moon and see how spherical, bright and beautiful it is..?
many of the planets mercury, venus, mars, jupitar and even saturn are visble from the earth but due to their immense distance they are often mistaken as stars and may only be distinguishable with the aid of a power telescope.

Ever wondered how the view would be like if the planets were as close as the moon is? clearly it would be a spooky, wonderous, beautiful and necessarily scary sight coming out every night looking at a gigantic spherical ball as the case is with jupitar and saturn.

below are the pictures rendering how the earth would look like if the planets were that close to us...judging from their actual size, brightness and look.

but first and foremost the picture of our moon as viewd from earth.

Pluto is a mini-planet not a main planet.. Many more planets are being discovered in our solar system.

as it is now they are 8main planets the one listed above and 8mini/dwarf planets (pluto belongs here) in our solar system only.

With more facts being uncovered everyday and more discoveries being made, this am sure will improve soon.smiley

Yeah. . .but any idea if it is still taught in primary and secondary schools that there are nine planets?

This rendering is awesome. Sometimes, I wonder what it will feel like for one to just jump into the other planet seeing how close it is. . . grin wink

I think it's still being taught in most tho some must have adjusted to the new scientific fact (even tho it is no longer new) . . .

I am very positive about the possibility of humans colonizating other planets seeing we achieved that feat with the moon, i think mars would be the first planet to be colonized and with each passing day the possibilities of finding extra-terrestrial life increases.. smiley

Yeah. . .but I do not think it is possible now. . .except by some miracle, the gases in Mars are similar to that in Earth.

Someone believes we cannot colonize Mars. Summoning blackjewelry. . . wink

colonizing mars is something that is being planned now by an independent organization.their is nothing like miracle in science, the atmosphere in mars is very thin but that is not a problem, oxygen will be generated the same way it is generated in space stations in orbit around the earth.

its called Mars One and they will be sending an unmanned craft to mars by 2018, the colony (habitat will be set up by unmanned robotic means) then the first batch of humans will be moved to mars by 2025.. below is a picture of how such habitat in mars would look like

yeah but if the planets where that close to us, the scary background of jupiter or saturn would be the least of our problems,...............we would be faced with one hell of a cosmic monster:........GRAVITY.......with the mass of jupiter or saturn, it would be unthinkable what its gravity would do to us,...unthinkable i tell u.... grin..

there wont even be time to get used to the sight or take selfies, embarassed...with the kind of mass of either jupiter or saturn , the poor earth would be pulled apart by the gravitational pull embarassed

If they were any were nearer I don't think we would have evolved as living beings. Imagine the chaos their combine gravity would have cause in early solar system.

It is not an issue of doubt, man will Set foot on Mars in no distant future, but colonizing it is out of equation. If you nasa very well you will see there are talk of sending man to Mars but they are not discussing permanent stay. Their plan of going there is purely for research purpose. The future of man lies outside the solar system and not on Mars. I believe I don't have highlight some of the problems anybody who tries to inhabitant Mars will face as I believe you already knows that. High radiation, low gravity, low pressure and some other factors. All these can be manage for a short time but what of the long time effects, and also remember co2 has it tolerant level to plant. At certain level it becomes toxic to plant and animal.

Read about the Mars One mission planning to move the first humans to mars for permanent stay by 2025..
they may be many huddles to consider and overcome but its possible..
In order for the crew to survive in Mars, first supplies will needed to be seeded on Mars. This
will allow the colonist have what they need when they land. Robotic
construction might allow living places to be made before the colonists
arrive. A ship with life supports will need to be constructed in earth orbit.
The ship will need hydroponics so that the crew can eat while they are
traveling and first arrive. Once they arrive at Mars, geothermal or even
nuclear energy could be used to power the base and hydrogen fuel cells to
produce water. Communication satellites would also need to be seeded
throughout the solar system so that communication can always be
established, even though it will take several minutes to travel.
Even though there are many hurdle for Martian colonization, it is still
possible. Robotic Mars exploration (mars rover) has paved the way to future missions.
We know how do alleviate some problems, while utilizing other method to
turn a difficulty into an aid. Colonization could even be successfully before
we die, which would allow us to possible be some of the first people to
travel to another planet.

who says mars can not be colonized?....never say never in technology,...people would have said man would never fly or leave his foot print else where apart from earth . rovers are exploring mars & have been doing it for years, with the depletion of earths resources , those thinking ahead & seeing possibilities are already think of supplies outside earth or even our solar system, ...my dear for now technology is the major draw back , and man keeps improving in technology.
