The senate leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, is set to defect to the All Progressives Congress.
A source close to the senator disclosed this to PREMIUM TIMES.

The source said the senate leader was only counting days to his defection.

In what may look like a prelude to the much expected defection, supporters of the senate leader, Thursday, invaded the APC state headquarters along Barracks Road​ in Calabar​ to announce their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party.
The defectors, led by the Campaign Director of the Senate leader, Ernest Irek, and immediate past Chairman of Obubra LGA, Chris Obasse, included former councillors and other top public office holders.

They said, tired of oppressive leadership, their mission was to join hands with the APC to form a formidable force against the PDP.

When contacted the senate leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, said, he was not ready to go into details.
“Anybody or people are free to crosscarpet to any party he/she may feel okay with,” he said. “It’s their right.”

PDP in the state has been struggling with internal rancour since the last primaries, leading to the defection of prominent party faithful.

This is why I don't think the PDP has the resilience & sagacity to offer a credible opposition. They will defect in droves just to still be connected to Federal power.

With the likes of tinubu and buhari in power, opposition politics is dead in Nigeria, maybe fayose can spear head an opposition movement, but does he have the brain and the resources ?

I think the PDP need new direction and new leadership, should possibly start with changing the name PDP!

For me I think the man has been in APC in spirit since it formation, he just does have the courage to do so then, I still like his strategy because if he had defected he would not have returned.

You are right, I think fayose has the spirit but I'm not sure he has the technical ability and the finance. I wish wish has the charisma and intelligence to be the new opposition. For me if Apga can win Abia, I will put my money on APGA rather than PDP.

bro I second to this. I serve in cross river and I want this powerful men to decamp to APC or LP. When senator victor lost to Hon john I thought he will decamp to another party but he stayed in PDP thinking they will win the central also when prince bassey otu lost to Gershom bassey he quickly decamp to LP to actualise is dreams but you know the outcome. Jeddy agba is the most pathetic man I have ever know,after spending millions of naira on campaign,he was deny the ticket by emperor Imoke and senator Ben Ayade was selected from nowhere.
