Warrisdis? sad is dis wat beauty pageant has gotten to? Or is there a mistake somewhere? Some of the guys look like they av been smoking igboh since birth and some of the ladies shouldn't have bothered buying the forms at all

Silly is being unable to articulate your point. You stated "contestants" and didn't state the gender plus you didn't specify that you were referring to unrelaxed hair.
Your comment was ambiguous and open to interpretation.

You have a point, though I thought you would be smart enough to puzzle out my meaning my mistake but that does not detract from my point that these girls are not a representation of black beauty. Just a sham with Skin Lightening and Wig Weaves and fake hair.

Ironi:
Why do you guys always post photoshopped pictures here ?
You always take pictures, remove all blemishes and lighten the skin colour and tone to make them look good.
Who the heck are you decieving ?
Unfortunately many people here don't even notice that pictures posted here especially of the so-called celebrities are all altered making them think Nigerians are light skinned.
Given the fact too that skin bleaching in Nigeria is a past time with both men and women shamelessly endulging in this disgraceful act, little wonder why some here think Nigerians are light skin.
This is serious psychological problem which Nigerians must deal with.
I know other black people with inferiority complex skin bleach but Nigerians take it a notch higher.
Do Nigerians have a complex?

Gbam thank you...But I disagree that Light skin makes you look good

A smart person would be able to analyse a statement and extract several possible interpretations and a smart person would anticipate this and cover possible loopholes in his comment.

The fake hair nko thats my main argument. to say there are no light skinned naija ppl would be discriminatory to them but a lot are light from the bottle because of our warped sense of beauty.

The tide is turning. More African women are rediscovering and embracing their natural hair. Weaves will soon be history. Hang in there.

Young energetic youths I must commend. However, I wonder how some of them passed the screening to be selected as finalist. Reason being that these are supposed to be Ambassadors of Imo state in the next one year. Imo state is an Igbo state and I wonder how the face of Imo whose surname is spelt OKORIE will now be bastardised as KORIE - stupidity. What is the meaning of KORIE. Secondly how can somebody contesting for Imo pageant will be identified with two foreign names. Your name should be your identity. Imagine the scenery below

1. In an exam hall objective question Pick out the name of Miss Imo from the under listed names ;
a. Philip Favour
b. Alfred Grace
c. Korie Sandra
c. Anyanwu Nnenna

2. Select the name of Mr. Imo from the under listed names;
a. Dominic Scot
b. Richards Emmanuel
c. Charles Brown
d. Emeka Nwosu

If am on that panel there’s no way those people will make the finals. Period.
Please let be proud of our own.

NOTE. Am not from Imo state.

And that's how he squanders the hard earned money of my home state, IMO STATE instead of executing people friendly projects. And these youths claiming to be teens and in their early twenties when actually, some of them are in their 30s or late 20s, go and find something meaningful for your life and not modelling. An igbo man or woman is known for the hardwork of his/her hands and not in lazy modelling...i am sorry for that but it is the truth.
