PPAngel: Considering the billions wasted under jonathan government. Considering jonathan has wasted billions on rail in Nigeria without a single new train to show for it Considering Ngozi just took a loan from the IMF last month to patch 2015 budget, which will be wasted on subsidy fraud Considering the billions wasted on jonathan relection, with nothing to show for it. I think if ogun borrows or uses all its IGR and allocation to fund intercity rail which the people will enjoy is a welcome development and a sharp departure from what pdp and jonathan waste government stand for... Also except you are from Ogun state, why the lamentations. face your state governor and ask him what he is doing with your state allocations. stop the lamentations pls 9 Likes |

Tho am a very good supporter of Amosun and APC, I think this Project should be given a good thought...though, it's very expensive, but Ogun state is not that populous enough to use intercity rail....even if something like that is gonna happen, it should be a joint venture between Lagos state government and Ogun state whereby people living around Sango area of Ogun state, Mowe-Ibafo, Ipokia, would be connected to the ever bustling city of Lagos The concentration of people living in Mowe-Ibafo and Sango area should be d ones enjoying this massive scale of rapid transport system 8 Likes |

I just hope that adequate study has been completed as it regards how to fund this white elephant project. It is my hope that he is not going to borrow from all sorts of lenders thereby plunging this country into bigger massive debts. More than any other region, the SW boasts of the highest debt profile in the country. It is starting to look as if folks have perfected the harbit of borrowing funds to start off projects they lack both the administrative skills and political motivation to complete. The monorail in Lagos comes to mind. . Political jobbers masquereding as administrative enfant terribles should no longer be allowed to bloat the countrys increasing debt profile through projects designed to massage the egos of some atarvistic politicians with vaulting ambitions. |

stinggy: Which GDP will give Ogun people the money to afford to pay the fare? PPP's also involve govt financial commitment as well So between Ogun state govt and passenger fares when will the 3bn be paid? the truth about this project is that it is part of a national grid the Chinnese were offering under Jonathan. With an APC govt in place, the Chinnese are re marketing the project in APC states in order to persuade the new govt from not scrapping it! But trusting the ever lying SW Apc rascals, they will want to claim credit for it. Again this project is a scam in the making |

The only way this project will be achievable is if it's broken down into about 15 - 20 phases with a time frame of 20 years. Which is still unlikely. |

PPAngel:Ogun to Fund 47.23 per cent of 2015 Budget with IGR Ogun State Governor , Senator Ibikunle Amosun has said the state would fund 47.23 per cent of its 2015 N210.354 billion proposed budget from its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). Presenting the 2015 Appropriation Bill, titled, “Budget of Continuity” to the State House of Assembly yesterday, Amosun said it would be funded as follows: IGR, N99.35 billion (47.23 per cent); Federation Account, N53billion (25.20 per cent) and Capital Receipt, N58 billion (27.57 per cent). The budget, which he stated is aimed at sustaining the tempo already achieved in the Mission to Rebuild the State by taking it to an enviable pedestal through all around development strategy comprises Capital Expenditure of N118.26 billion (56 per cent) and Recurrent Expenditure of N92.09 billion (44 per cent). "We are proposing a Budget of N210.354 Billion for the 2015 Financial Year, which is about the same as the 2014 Budget of N210.28b. "The rationale for this is that the macro- economic outlook driven by the global oil prices suggests a contraction in the national economy. I have always maintained that Ogun State is not immune from the wider economy. However I am confident that we will be able to maintain our budget size by innovatively growing our Internally Generated Revenue," he said. In line with the Government’s five cardinal programmes, the Affordable Qualitative Education programme got the highest allocation of N42,565,400,000 billion (20 per cent), follow by the Rural and Infrastructural Development/Employment Generation, N34,423,000,000 (16 per cent), Affordable Housing and Urban Renewal, N22,373,726,000 (11 per cent), Efficient Health Care Delivery, N20,282,700,000 (10 per cent)and Agricultural Production leading to Industrialisation, N10,641,350,000 (five per cent). While reiterating that the administration would continue to impact positively on the people, the governor noted that various project initiated and completed and the improved economic development of the State are positive indicator that shows that the state is on the right track. 2 Likes |
