OK. Enough teasing from me!

I'll leave you guys to do the task. I agree with your decision so far. It wil make the literature section better. Those that can't take corrections will avoid the correction thread and those that want to improve will use it.

You guys are the best.

oh and D9ty7, take it easy. I was just fooling around. We cool wink

I'm only seeing writers nominating here, where are the readers, or they ain't part of the literature board? And you guys really think the readers too be a good critique? You may be wrong thou

To the best of my knowledge, I think no story is of use, when nobody is reading or listening, and I hope that says how important the readers are, in this quest of change.

Just my opinion, no offence oooo
Jahbless!!!!

I think this attitude for some of the readers is caused by some of the writers' attitude towards criticism.

Based on this, D9ty7, I have a suggestion. I want to suggest that all criticism - whether constructive or not that should be made on any writer's work not be made on the same thread with the work. I'm saying this because I don't believe that anyone of those writers who feel bad about being criticised really hate for their mistakes to be corrected, but it could be humiliating - or something close to it for their mistakes to be pointed out on the same pulpit where they are being called the bomb by their fans.

Please understand, D9ty7, that I'm not trying to justify their acts - or even their feelings, but I'm just trying to contribute my quota to the success of this.

Goddluck brother. smiley

One of the readers I give the most respect is Kingphilip. I think he should be among the critics; he's read a lot of people's stories, and he critiques nicely. If we're going to include the readers, I suggest we start with Kingphilip.

Good measures taken so far. It's left for those nominated to have time to grave the stories, and any of them that can't or won't be able to make it, should please notify those nominating them.

Btw, the Op seems to have stopped talking. His Moniker [i swea no be here grin ]. Let him say something.

Much as I support Ishilove's nomination, I think she has enough on her hands as a mod at the moment. Of course, she's free to critique at any time but I don't think we should add to her workload.

Yes!! Some readers can be like that, but that does not justify all readers are like that, sames as the fact that, some writers don't accept critics and corrections in a good faith, does not portray all the writers to be the same.

Somebody (above my post here) have suggested kingphilip, and he's not an allien here, at least most writers know him to be a reader, and he don't go about 'you are the thunder' or 'you are the bomb' stuff.

So, in this cause, I will like to nominate some readers here also, who I know to be a good critics, and don't mince word when it comes to that aspects, which they goes thus:

Kingphilip

Snowyt

And stuff46 (he's also a writer, but he's more of a reader than a write)

I rest my case

Re: The Nairaland Literature Board And The Change It Needs by senbonzakurakageyoshi(m): 7:09am On Apr 30, 2015

Why, sir?

For one, a critique is not only for the benefit of the writer, but other writers reading his/her work and the readers too as they may do some writing of their own someday. Sending them critiques privately would deny others the opportunity to learn from someone else's mistakes.

Besides, it's a faceless forum. I don't know why anybody would get offended over comments made in good faith and to someone's benefit just because their massive, massive ego feels hurt. I'm sorry but if the critique or criticism as the case may be, is deserved and you feel offended, you might want to reconsider the "writer" tag you attached to yourself.

Making a critique on a writer's work, on the same thread will ensure the writer tries to avoid making mistakes that will lead to that. In addition, creating another thread for criticism or for comments have been tried before and it didnt go down well. It also makes my job easier.

I just have one complaint though.

Like it or not, we are all social animals and we sometimes fall into cliques or cabal mentality.

I am saying this because I have seen some mistakes on the part of 'heavyweight' writers here.

i. Criticising someone by saying that the person's writing is not as good as your heavyweight writer friend's own.

ii. Correcting the flaws in someone's work while praising and ignoring the same flaw in your friend's own.

Trust me, I have seen it happen here despite the fact that I am still 'fresh' on this section.

Please and please, I want this correction thread to work. I need criticism of my work since I am still learning. I just don't want this whole project to go downhill because of ego and squabbles.

Thanks. I wish I could contribute more

Btw, what is the conclusion? Should we start the review thread now?

Nominations have been made, Dty97, pls do you think it's time to compile the names of nominees so they can be added to the other thread?

***
I want to drop a story on the thread so any critic who have the time can help critique it.
This thread seem to be dragging on and on.

Btw, anyone can critique any story on any thread, the writers review thread is specifically for writers who desire to be critiqued, and so comes to the thread to post their stories or links to it.

**
Thronekid just wrote a beautiful poem, I think he can also post the poem on the review thread when it's finally updated with names of nominated critics and opened by Ishilove.

God bless ussmiley

****
Pls someone should mention me when the thread is finally open and running.
Thank you.
