Hi everyone, please I need your help. I am expecting a package from USA and it was sent via usps. According to what the sender told me, he said i would get it in the next 6-10 business days. And the package has been sent since 14/04/2015. I keep tracking it on usps website until it arrived Nigeria customs. But what is not clear to me is that on usps website, it is still showing custom clearance. And when I checked it on nipost website, is says returned from customs and showed the next location which is NGABEO since 22/04/2015. But they haven't update anything about the package after the last one. What I want to ask is that, should I go ahead and call the post office or still wait. ?

Hello, I've been doing pick ups at the post office for years but this year they started charging N500 per pickup. I ordered 2 wristwatches but one got here first and I paid N500 without documentation or receipt now the second one has arrived and I'm being asked to pay another N500. The attendant there says the courier charge I paid online only applies to the country of origin and not destination. Please explain this to me. Something tells me this collection is illegal and wrong.

your suppose to be given a receipt i pay same #500 but always issued receipt most times has to do with customs plus they know there is alot of online trading going on so they have to profit from the venture...

Ask the seller for his/her address with phone number..package properly and address your parcel then go to your nearest post office and tell them u want to send a registered mail, they will weight it and charge you and give you a tracking number

Yes, package was intact. It arrived yesterday morning i.e 29/04. Never knew there was a post office at Ijeshatedo surulere. Its not a very busy place anyway. Met a bunch of women gisting the day away, for my mind I was wandering if this is what these people do all day and get paid by month end. I approached the desk and it was like they had been waiting for me to show up, I got my mail within 10 minutes and joined the women in their ramblings about unpaid salaries for another 20 minutes.. It was good one for me cos this is my first time of receiving a mail from the post office and again it took about 15 days from china through nlpost. Paid them 500 naira for official fee, that was what they told me o, I don't know how true that is. I was given a slip to acknowledge that I had received the mail but I don't think it passes as recipt. It wasn't bad for a first time.

Anyway for C tracking; you will pay N500 upwards then E, you will pay N1,500 upwards then for R and L, they are free, don't be deceived they would give you receipt. ask them when they have become custom officials or when their office has become Nipost headoffice that access and charge goods that arrives in the country

If not intact you should have checked it first or refused it....let the sender file a claim and get whatever it was insured for. If you accepted it then you lose... lamentation without compensation.

Where did you check to notice it was removed; at home or nipost office? I have always said this, always check your package in their presence before leaving their office and if you notice any missing item, have your item reweigh to confirm that the weight from the sender and nipost corresponds. Some Nipost officials are crook. Sorry about your loss, next time you have to open your eyes.

If you doubt me, try and get to their headoffice at nahco then request to see their GM and ask him the question then you will get the answer or probably call their customer care line when they demand for the money and see how everytthing unfolds.
