Lest i forget, do not fail to pump those muscles today especially those guys that will be indulging in c.oitus. You will need stamina, strength,flexibility and endurance. All these can be achieved via strength-training.

Hi my fellow gym-enthusiasts, i hope you got those muscles burning.
I noticed that very few body-builders have the v-shaped physique. When i mean v-shape physique, i am talking about a broad shoulder and a narrow(slim) waist. This physique is for the alpha males. It signifies strength, power, masculinity and confidence. It makes them ladies drooling over you most especially when you are walking shirtless on the beach. At least "papiwata" can attest to that.
So how then can one achieve this alpha-male physique.

Yes, i am back after a long while. I hope my fellow gym-enthusiasts bursted the nuts in those muscles.
Before i begin, i must say i have being able to trim down my waist size from 30 to 27 inches. At least when i wear my trousers, there is usually a few space even after i have put the belt-pin in the last hole.
I was able to apply the following tips, i am going to list out now.

1. DIET, DIET and DIET.
This cannot be over-emphasized. Getting a smaller waist cannot be achieved except one decides to eat "clean" diet. When i mean "clean" i mean "healthy". Moreover clean diets encourages weight loss and unnecessary weight gain.
Calorie intake will have to be reduced for the result to be massive.
High Carbohydrate based meals are the major culprits for "mother christmas" waist size. Proteins(legumes,lean chicken,egg-whites,salmon,lean beef,snail-meat) should form a major part of our diet as well as fibres(vegetables) and fruits. Carbohydrates such as brown/white rice, oats,pasta,sweet-potatoes,yams are also good but should be eaten in moderation.

2. Kickstart your metabolism with a healthy breakfast.
I noticed that people trying to loose weight usually skip breakfast and they find out they are not seeing the wanted results instead they put on more weight. Our body is a very highly-adaptable bio-machinery. Skipping breakfast will only cause the body to slow down its metabolism and hold on to those unwanted body-fats and as such weight-loss is impossible. Starting the day with a healthy balanced break-fast is very crucial when following a weight-loss diet. A good breakfast kick starts metabolism in the body allowing one to burn more calories throughout the day.
For me, breakfast is my fruits,vegetables, oat-meal and egg-whites.

3. Eat smaller, more frequent meals.
This not only cause that trim waist size but also overall body-weight. In fact this is the way of the body-builders. In nigeria, we are used to eating three large square meals i.e breakfast, lunch and dinner. To achieve a trim waist size, one must spread those three large meals across six or seven meals. This prevents the body for acculmlating body-fats such that after each meal, the body burn the food to release energy.


4. Eat healthy fats.
Most people who try to loose weight as well as ahieve a trim/slim waist avoid anything "fat" like a leprosy. This is so wrong. The body cannot function properly without "fats". The question now is Is the fat healthy or not? A good fat should contain a high ratio of monounsaturated/polyunsaturated fatty-acids to saturated fatty-acids. Infact healthy fats cause overall weight loss because it makes one to be full and as such elininate excess consumption of calories. Examples of healthy fats include avocadoes, nuts(cashew nuts,walnuts,peanuts) olive oil, fish(salmon,mackerel,horse-mackerel). But remember moderation is key.
This is the season of avocadoes, why not eat some avocadoes today.
Bad fats can be found in dairy products, chicken skin, pork, snacks,vegetable oils e.t.c

Hello my fellow gym enthusiasts. How much are you pumping those muscles? Our body is just like clay and it is up to us to mould it into anything we want it to be. It has not been easy i must really tell you. Combining a tight schedule with a rigorous work-out regimen is no mere feat.

This is the one and only SHAWN "SUGAR" RAY. Retired professional body-builder. I am so in love with this guy's physique. He is an embodiment of aesthetics, muscle mass,symmetry,vascularization, defination and leaness. I really adore this man. It is quite sad that he never won the most coveted trophy, every professional body-builder dreams of winning: THE MR OLYMPIA.

That last picture reminds me of a man I encountered in the weight room some years back, who was performing heavy bench presses despite having lost one hand in an accident years previous.

The weight bar was balanced on the stub of his wrist, where the hand no longer was, such that the over 250 pounds weight was held by his one good hand, and balanced on the healed wrist bone-end where the other hand was no longer connected. I finally walked over and told him he had to be one of the baddest muffugus I have ever seen enter a gym. At the time I could not match his bench press weight, despite having TWO good hands to use. He laughed and said he gets many such comments when he worked out.

By the way, Pristine Muscles, those extreme body builders in your pictures have to eat HEAVY, up to 6 times a day, and ALSO inject themselves with ANABOLIC STEROIDS, which are known killers, over time. Few people can afford that kind of intake of food, and all that red meat the big guys eat really does shorten their lives, due to many illnesses that arise as time goes on. For the average Joe, those giants are NOT role models to be emulated. The last picture of the guy with the artificial legs shows a more achievable and natural size that can be attained without that extreme eating regime that costs so much monetarily and health-wise. Just my opinion brother, no offense intended.

@papiwata. Yes i quite agree with you. But you know there is no way body-building can be talked about without the pro body-builders. Although they(pro body-builders) have a rather unhealthy lifestyle but with the recent advancement in medicine and the likes, the body-builders are better informed on the diet to take as well as the steroid cycle that will not pose harm to their health. When last do you hear of any pro body-builder dropping dead? Excessive use of human growth hormone, steroid, synthol and over consumption of "junks" foods are usually the precursors for early death. I am an advocate for the natural ways of building muscles, i have never seen a steroid pack in my life. I detest anything drugs. I love doing it naturally. it is just that those pro body-builders are simply an amazement to behold.

Yes indeed, my brother. The results those guys get for their efforts are inspiring to anyone who pumps iron, for sure.

The discipline and dedication needed to keep up a weight regime is very good mental conditioning for ALL aspects of human endeavor, from career advancement to politics, as exemplified by the rise of Arnold Shwartzeneger from pro body builder to movie star to state governor.

Good to hear you have made the choice never to go the steroid route, and to keep it natural with good diet, adequate rest and carefully designed weight programs.

Interesting thread. I have lots of pro-bodybuilder images on my gadget too and I use them for motivation. Though I know that I can neva have that type of muscle mass since I can never inject.

Though pro-bodybuilders use steroid but we can't take it away from them when we talk of their workouts, dedication and the food they health. These guys dedicate everything to it and can't even eat just any food like they have their routine which they must follow. Taking just steroid alone can never grow muscle for one. One must do real workout too to complement it.

The useless one now is synthol. Synthol is for very lazy guys that want to look buff-up, those guys always look ridiculous with their *vegetable oil* filled biceps,pecs and shoulder.

Natural is the main thing. Use supplements if you have access to it but don't do steroid. Gbam!!!!

Wow, this week has indeed being eventful. Thank God it is friday and rest is sure tomorrow. My boys really made me proud on tuesday which made me pump the iron with so much tenacity on wednesday.

MYTH NUMBER 5
THE LONGER YOU WORK OUT THE BETTER.

Looking at the myth from a far distance, you might be tempted to believe it but i can make bold to say it is just another adulterated lie.
When i go to some gyms i will be hearing funny statements like "wow i just did a bench press of 100 reps per set" and when i look at the person making such statement, he just looks worse than "sh..its"(body-building language meaning not in top shape).
I could not blame him because he was not properly informed.

your muscle adapt! the longer you workout the more your muscle evolve, so that your body/muscles can be capable of dealing with such workout conditions next time. i agree to "resting" and "taking a day or two or more days after intense workouts". the more hard you work, the faster you gain. stop saying what you dnt know.

From what you just wrote, it clearly shows that you are a rookie in strength-training exercise. I will not battle words with you, i have gone past that stage a long time. Follow what you think you know but also remember it is not quantity but quality in strength-training. At least, i am a living example.
