Ok.

This may not be an issue to some people, and I must admit at first it was kind of exciting for me. But of late I cannot help but wonder why it is so and what does it signifies

As far back as I can remember, people tend to address me as SIR OR BOSS
And when I say sir, I mean the big mighty dignified Sir.
When I say people I mean everybody that come In contact with me. Be it the young and the old, the big and the small, the rich and the poor. I mean everyone even my director refer to me as my Oga.

I remember when I accompanied my director to one of the SS government house every body where addressing me with so much respect that my director have to called me aside and asked me how do I do it. At 32 I was made a site manager in one of the biggest and most successful quarry company in the SS and SE regions. And the funny thing is I am not even a graduate.( a fact that only my director knows) but I think my raise to success has to do with the grace of God my never say never attitude and sense of reasoning than anything else. But this sir of a thing is beginning to make me feel old.

now my question is this. why do people prefer to address me as Sir or boss even when they don't know a thing about me?

though I am a simple and down to earth kind of guy and an introvert at that. how do I stop them from addressing me as sir or Boss ? Because honestly it's beginning to make me feel old.

It has to do with your personality. U are simple yet you have that air of superiority around you. I know this bc that is d kind of personality my husband has. Everybody refers to him as Sir or add oga to his name, even his boss.

Heck, even my older siblings call him Sir and even greet him with both hands

With just my ssce certificate and the grace of God I am a regional manager of our company. ( not just any company but a multi billion one at that) is enough to show how intelligent I am. But that's not the issue

How do I make people to stop addressing me Sir or Oga is the issue here

From Monday to Saturday am always on polo shirts and dirty jeans. As I prefer to be in the field than the office..So it's definitely not my dressing

Hehe, I think for starters, you should start by avoiding eye-contact - at all costs!

Fix your gaze on the ground. Walk with slouched shoulders, and speak with less certainty than you usually do. And if one more person calls you boss, call me bas,tard .



People kinda defer to you because of your carriage. High status apes have certain mannerisms; relaxed as fvck, open body language, eye-contact, and move more confidently, etc.

So even though your boss is 'boss' - in the context of your work environment, his 'croc-brain' which doesn't understand such contexts rightly sees you as the oga-at-the-top.

There's this 70+ Spanish man I always run into at my workplace cafeteria .... This man will bow for me like Chinese do and call me Ma'am when it's obvious I'm his daughter's age mate.

Got a chance to finally sit and chat with him over lunch , one afternoon .. His response made me call my Dad that night.
He said " ma'am your Aura fills up the space, I can't help but acknowledge that everytime I see you"... That's some deep spiritual shait right there

Sooner or later opportunities will pass you by for lack of formal education. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that.

Seriously, you don't have to make a big deal out of it. If you ain't comfortable being sired this is what to do, when next someone address you with the term 'sir' return the gesture. That's what I do always.

Hey... Just continue whatever you're doing jare, many PHD holders are here working at call centres & still writing 'entry exams' while an ordinary high school holder own a train of franchised businesses and leading cooperate firms.
