Mtn is a disgrace. When I got an mtn line shortly after arriving Nigeria they would deduct 1000 Naira every time I loaded a N1500 card, but my balance remained untouched if I loaded a lower denomination. And each time I called customer care they would tell me that I browsed with it despite the fact that I always had a valid large data plan which was largely unused. When I had had enough of their nonsense I sent texts to all my contacts telling them I had switched to etisalat and gave them my new number
as In that's also part of their strategy to make profit...like defrauding ppl is the top of the list! I got billed for browsing with my airtime and #1,200 was cleared from my account balance, not ONCe not Twice ahhnnn ahnnmm!!! WHATT HAPEEENNNN!! meanwhile I had o'er #100 mb left on my data balance..as in GOD avenged me Ohh whendnext day I heard free airtime was released by MthiefN.. I got the exact amount of airtime stolen from my line..

Even when i have more than #200 airtime on my mtn line, i cnt still make calls. All i hear is that my credit has been exhausted so i switch off n switch on my cell phone almost every time i need to make call. This Network is a scam. They should either improve or go!

MTN the biggest fraud of our time!

You can't blame them tho. Nigeria offers the world a very loyal market. Loyal to a fault. Loyal to the extent that once your business, product or services has captured them, even if you dish out shîts to them afterwards, they swallow with pride.

I use MTN and the only reason being that it's my main number. I stopped recharging the useless line for over a year now and I've been using Glo and Airtel till like recently.

The most annoying thing about the network is their lack of regard for customers. Your customers pay for their services yet you turn their lines to and advert bank. You load people's phones with 7-15 messages per day. To worsen the whole thing, you call with multiple numbers (like carrying out permutations to arrive at the numbers) such as: 4501, 4031, 4051, etc.

Funny enough even if this twitter campaign continues from now till next year, they won't quit annoying their customers because their main customers are those politicians and wealthy businessmen. Therefore, these tweeps are just humming.
Beautifully written Francizy but the truth remains that if all the twerps decide to come and hum together EMPTY HEN must listen.

They messed me up big time in 2009 and I broke my line after I've called them and told the agent that picked the call my mind.
I even encourage people that are close to me to drop their MTN line - Talk of petty vengeance, but they cost something and I felt cheated.
Nigerians should stage a protest and read the riot act to them but how many Nigerians are ready to leave everything behind and protest ?

Until the people themselves decides to change the Governmet will remain the same .We can't blame Government for everything when we are still dumb about our basic human rights as citizens.

If not for Etisalat that came to Nigeria rescue us from MTN and Glo, there won't be anything like MB and low call rates.

But i never make use of Etisalat though.

MTN should please stop those silly and useless messages.

If you want to experience change even before the much awaited 29 May, port to Etisalat. Since I did, na God Win!

I ported from Airtel to Etisalat since 3 months ago, till date I do celebrate that singular action on daily basis. I can now browse and make call seamlessly from even my toilet.

Hate them or love them for now MTN is no 1, many a Nigerian don't have that depth in mentality to challenge the status quo.

If only TINUBU where the owner of glo or had his own network he will drive MTN into the abyss where they rightfully belong.

Their service is nothing to write home about. Even an ocassional user like me gets frustrated by them.

They seem to care only about customer figures, not quality of service.

They see 9ja clients as a very undemanding and tolerant bunch. Judging by the antics of PHCN for example.

MTN is a mega fraud. They advertise their new useless tariff plan called trutalk + for 11k per second.
I migrated to dat useless stupiid plan thinking dat it's genuine.
Only for MTN to still charge me 40k per second for d first minute , deduct #5 as access fee and then bill me 15k per second for d nxt minute call.
MTN die die die die die die die die die die die die die die die die die in Jesus name.

It's not an hate campaign. Their services aint FREE. They're milking us so badly.

Well, these are customers feedback, good survey! MTN has just been rated so poorly.

And, even if 100% of their workers are Nigerians, Still, this doesn't justify why they should treat their host country so disdainfully. There's an adage in Yoruba which says that, 'a o le so wi pe nitori afe je maalu, ka pe ni broda' #You don't accord respect to Cow all because you want to have some bite? #GodBlessMyTranslation grin

MTN is losing it. Hoping they don't crumble like PDP.

Why is everyone lamenting?

Everyone keeps displaying their s.tu.pidity thinking they are bashing MTN. Herd mentality.

PORT IF YOU DO NOT LIKE any telecoms service provider. Do not come online and rant. The solution you seek is in your hands.

Or am I missing something?

MTN still the best in the country. I have no regret using it for my data services over the years. There could be fluctuations sometimes, but far better than Etisalat that gives headache to my goons all the time. None is perfect tho!
