IKOM ON THE VERGE'. With negligence on d part of environmental workers,Ikom local government an emerging city in Cross River State is on d verge of an epidemic that could sweep the entire town if something urgent is not done.I plead that the state government should ensure the once clean town/streets is restored to its old state,(devoid of refuse) residents are crying, women, children, youth are suffering from internal disease because of the offensive odour and smell that comes out from those refuse. All authorities concerned Ikom Urban Development Authority (IUDA)Commissioner For Environment should act fast............. . Did their governor throw those things there?

Come on, we're talking about a country where 95% of the populace feel comfortable littering the streets with their waste. Its now a norm to drink sachet water and throw away the empty sachet on the floor. A country where most houses and shops don't have waste bins.

This is actually a very good opportunity for any entrepreneur with funds. Purchase some waste trucks, register a business name, have a business plan, solve this problem and become a millionaire

Lack of local government and governance. The citizens are suppose to pay taxes for refuse to be evacuated (not waiting for allocation). This is applicable to all the states and local governments in the country.

Na wa. Una dey mind this Op sef?
IKOM IS NOT IN CALABAR.
Just like how Aba is not in Umuahia, Ore is not in Akure, Ijebu-Ode is nt in Abeokuta.
Except if u are telling us that Calabar is a state.

Btw every Town/State in Nigeria has such places. Go to so many neighbourhoods in Lagos, Ijebu-Ode, Aba, Onitsha u'll c places like that.
