Thanks.
Sorry o, neffy, I'm poor with financials. When I'm in the US, how do I transfer my money from my Gtbank account to the American account?
If you intend coming with your GTbank card, when you arrive US, open a U.S. Bank account, I would recommend Bank of America or anyone closer to you. You can go to either Walmart or Kroger if they have western union, I know Walgreens usually have western union stand too, request for a money order (maximum is $1000) they would charge 79cent per money order which is not upto 100 naira as against the N400 charges with ATM per withdrawal. Then you an take to your bank and deposit it or exchange for cash.

You can as well visit Fidelity bank for BTA, they have very good exchange rate. You can visit any branch closer to you.

Someone gave this advice earlier, I took it, ran with it and got charged $10, am I supposed to give him a pat on the back? People should learn to give advice without shoving it down people's throat. Wtf is "you are just wasting your funds?" is that how to talk?

you went to Walmart and swipe your card for money order and got charged $10, I doubt it. Let see a proof to that. Which state are you?

Illinois.
Im airing my disappointment, they said it is because I'm swiping a debit card, they will get charged for that blah blah blah. They calculated the charge, it came to $10+. I asked if my bank will charge in addition to that, they said they don't know. I left and went to use what I am familiar with.

You used the currency exchange and not Walmart. you get charged for using currency exchange western union outlet except you bring cash. I'm also presently in Illinois. Instead of withdrawing you can also buy stuffs and do cash back ($40 maximum) but you can do it more times by checking out one after the other (personal checkout)

Look at who was disapproving Nerf's comment, you've just done the same thing. Like I said let's be accommodating it's not like we know each other.

@Nerf if it will pay you to do the money order maybe you should try another walmart maybe a big one if convinient and explain that someone you know did it for 79 cents.
It could also be that it differs from state to state.
Abi what do you feel?

If you read his comments he said western union outlets not western union agents (those mexicans/spanish outlets) you would be charged. That was why I stressed walmart or kroger or you can use cash back service.

Exactly!
Lolz, will try it out next time I need cash and avoid Western Union Agents as eatwell423 is highlighting, didn't know they were agents though. You should have seen how my people laughed at me after we left there.

Ouch! SimiJ I don't think it fair to make reference to her losing her babies. That was way below the belt...... I agree nerf needs to tender an apology, but u refering to something so sensitive aint fair..... back to sitting in front of my fan..........
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by Newmum0615: 7:02pm On May 22, 2015
@SimiJ I am assuming you r new to this thread cos your name doesn't seem familiar. Anyway the comments u just made abt someone losing babies is downright inhumane and unneccessary. If u r pregnant or a mother u would know that u shld never make comments that. U talked abt her not knowing the minds of people, it is minds like urs we shld be wary abt. Don't ever beat people when they are down. God in heaven is not asleep. Even if she hurt Ur feelings by her responses, address d issue and not the person. Afterall the person she had d argument with in d first place did not go as far as this. Pls be guided. This is not a forum for mad people. We shld be responsible family people.

@justwise: Pls help us maintain some decorum here by banning accordingly naa.

Thank you so much @newmum15, @phema, @modath and @MadameU.

Now I am very confused at to whether or not to send the letter. Going with my husband for the trip, maybe I should just risk it although I am already showing.

When I got the visa it was for holiday honestly but along the line plans have now changed especially since the visa allows for both purpose.

So now we are going for vacation but I want to stay back and have the baby...

What do you guys think. Should I just risk it and go in through New York since its a friendlier POE.

@ewa2014 you have been going back and forth on this issues about informing the embassy, what harm will it do to you if you do inform them, but if you don't inform them, you can get into trouble (God forbid), my candid advice inform them and get it out of your way. Note someone was asked on this thread at POE if she informed the embassy and thank God she had a letter to that. The right thing to do is inform them cos your visa was for vacation, and get it out of your way, I informed the embassy even though I had used my Visa several times.
