Those that wanted to crusify Gej and Okonjo iwealla when they asked for removal of subsidy. Can u see who the real enemies are now?

If subsidy was removed back then, by now petrol wont be scarce and it would not be more than 120 now. But today, we gladly by for 300-400 if we see.

Those that brought u food and drinks during the protest are the ones ensuring u pay with ur blood.

Sometimes you just have to shake your head at the headless nincompoops that Nigeria is filled with.

I would support the transportation of millions of silly Nigerians into the Ocean yearly if it would reduce the number of stupid people we have in our midst.

Let me pretend you have any iota of sense.

At least there was partial subsidy removal of up to 50% since 2012.

What was the partial money generated from its removal used for in more than 3 years?

What can we show for that revenue?

Dumbledores like you don't have the capacity to think, so I don't expect any responsible response from you nay the usual rhetorics.

@OP: Why did GEJ quickly pay the marketers right before the presidential election but is now refusing to pay them their balance?

Where are those "subsidy thieves" GEJ promised to prosecute and hold to account? How many have so far been brought to book? What did GEJ and co-travelers do with the money saved from the partial subsidy removal?

That is not the whole truth, with all due respect. Deregulation is by its very name an invitation to oppresive irregularities. we are not talking about onions and pepper that can be left to market forces. the ideal term is liberalization as we have in the banking industry. The current price of oil demonstrates that removal of subsidy cabal will only create a marketers' cartel. either way corruption is the problem. Is govt subsidizing cement? why is the price going up? Fundamentals of demand and supply in oil industry involves transparent liberalization of the process, that is why we have Nigeria Extractive Industry Transparency Act. What does it take to import? what does it take to tank? what are the incidental cost? Who qualifies to import? who verifies? What is the arbitration process? When you keep all these process in the dark how can any other policy work in complete anarchy? Total for instance will rather refine crude than import products.

Think about it: will deregulation open a floodgate of supply? No. so it remains a sellers market. if it doest how about standard. Every sector currently enjoys arbitrary price regime, tarrifs, interest, profits name it.
Cartelism is every where. go to that airport and buy 75cl Eva water it is 3times the actual price. Why? it is sold by 'concessionaires' in a confined ' environment. Experience has repeatedly shown that market forces does nothing in Nigeria except creation of cartels who device means making spurious profits at the expense of the consumer.

We are still here and do not regret our actions. Corruption is the problem and not subsidy. From next week we will start knowing the source of the 3 trillion spent by PDP in the election. The marketers will also explain where they got d cash contributed towards PDP campaign since they claim they are being owed.

Where are those who called the protesters Parasite?
Today the intl. Price for crude has halved but a deregulated diesel still sells for same price in Nigeria. There was corruption and Nigerians weren't ready to pay for the laxity of our leaders, they could read the 'stealing is not corruption' attitude of the leaders long ago. OP should go sit down.

It all depends of the reputation of the government in charge. If issue of systemic corruption can be tackled by the sitting government then subsidy can go. That's to say If for example Buhari admin is ready to face the challenges of Diesel selling for same rate it sold for in 2012 Jan, when crude price was more than double it is now, then he can remove. If not removal of subsidy will only be a licence for the marketers to form a cabal and be the new government of fuel.

I don't know how old you are but you sound very childish and ignorant. I could reply you with a comment I replied someone else with on another thread:

If corruption is eliminated to a large extent, we wouldn't be paying this price for subsidy.

You and I saw from the reports of the HoR,
which was eventually rubbished by Jonathan
himself by setting up Farouk (who by the way,
due to his greed, took the bait) Lawan using one
of the major beneficiaries of the fraud indicted
in the report, Otedola, how names of ships
which had long ago formed coral for sea
creatures surfaced in our books claiming to
have imported fuel!! In other cases, we saw
multiple duplication of claims. Do you think had
Jonathan not played posum and pampered
these crooks we would have been where we are
today??

How come despite the corruption in previous
administrations, none had to grapple with such
perversion of the subsidy regime by crooks in
high places?? If their templates for monitoring
helped in keeping such crooks at bay and
maintaining subsidy expenditures at sustainable
levels, why did Jonathan do away with such
templates
This whole mess is just as a result of corruption which Jonathan condoned.

Again:

I was one of those who supported and actively participated in the protests. So what??

The question any right thinking Nigerian should be asking is: What necessitated the geometric rise in subsidy expenditure in an election year? Was there a corresponding percentage rise in
consumption/demand of the products??

All through history, we never paid that much, all of a sudden after jonathan became the
president, the amount went over the roof and
you imagine no one should ask questions.

Is that how you imagine you would run your
Biafra if it comes to fruition?? Are you folks even
thinking at all??
You guys need to grow some sense and think like people with brains for once.

The answer to your question will only be answered when the mystery surrounding that sector is exposed. When we know the true position of things, eg actual product refined in the country, real quantity consumed in d country, the deficit, cost of importation, cost deficit with pump price etc. We can den collectively decide to remove or not to. Not that a certain person will simply tell them to add 10 naira and remit same to him. Until then.

@OP, your level of understanding of the Nigerian state and right of expression does not guarantee you the right to mis-inform the populace or continuing in
this shortsightedness.
1. You need evil to appreciate good. If you have been around you will know that subsidy issue was overblown by GEJ administration.
2. What did GEJ promise Nigeria for the purpose of creating SURE-P an equivalent of PTF?
3. GEJ did not come to re-invent the wheel but rather as "business as usual".

There is nothing like subsidy. It is a fictious claim reached by importers/marketers and the government to steal from the treasury. Buhari who was into petroleum in the 1970s and 1980s knows this. Those involved, especially the ones that were tried in the kangaroo trial like Ifeanyi uba, will smell their yansh.
OP, could you tell us the gains of diesel since subsidy on it was removed?

OK,let me help again:
there are five(5) refineries with 450,000 barrels capacity I.e they can deliver around 20 million litres per day of petrol at sustained production but unfortunately these refineries are constantly under (T.A.M).
Nnpc posted it at sustained level 40 million litres of petrol per day which it can't meet so it imports through major marketers at an agreed fee from ppra.
the. on cost before now was subsidized but according to F.g it cannot be sustained.
Fast forward to present,we have a 50% shortfall in oil revenue.how is govt going to pay for the subsidy and pay for the oil marketers.
hence the years budget removed subsidy payments and being the end of an administration.guess what the oil marketers are doing.

I love to be, Fredo, but the sun that solidifies clay melts wax. no matter our optimism. palm oil and onion belong to absolutely free market unlike petrol that is controlled internationally. in fact, US came up with NOPEC to check OPEC, Nopec means no to oil production and exploration cartel. You can't refine in your backyard as you produce onions. All we are asking is: set transparent rules of engagement and enforce it. but when you give licence to few and create unfair and corrupt bottlenecks for operation they simply transfer the cost to consumers. Who has ever resisted the fraudulent temptation to make billions at the expense of the consumer? pls Google antitrust law you will see how insincere our deregulators are about what needs to be done to keep the sanctity of an important industry. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Competition_law
