If NO

-Login through the other admin account and change password for the one you forgot/misplaced

If YES

- Select Forgot password and follow prompt, check email for link to reset password, that should do

1. Yes, that's the only admin account.

2. i can't select forgot password because i am not privy to have access to the original email address used in setting up the site cuz thats where the reset link will be sent too. Am the new I.T guy, the previous I.T guy left under disturbing circumstances and all efforts to retrieve all access details from him have proved abortive.

If “Lost your password?” confirmation e-mails do not arrive or if you have no access to the e-mail account connected to your administrative dashboard, you can reset your password via MySQL database.

1. Log in your cPanel > section Files > File manager and navigate to the document root of your WordPress website.

2. To check what database is being used for your WordPress website, open wp-config.php file located in

3. Go to cPanel > Databases section > phpMyAdmin

4. Select the database in question, table wp-users and click on Edit next to admin user

5. On the next page type in your new strong password into user_pass box, select MD5 in Function column and click Go

This is it!

You can now go back to WordPress dashboard page and try to login with the new password.
