I disagree with you. Those boys are very good and I wonder how they came fourth in the qualifying tournament.

They created lots of chances, very good dribblers and can shoot as well. They are full of tricks. The Portuguese were ball watching.

Their goal was well deserved and not as a result of defensive blunder. If flying Eagles can defeat this team that I have just watched, then I think half of them should just walk into the Super Eagles.

The Brazilians are very good. The Portuguese team sometimes play a bit like the French under 20. They have tall players with good legs, can run, shoot, dribble and jump. They are technically good as well but the Brazilians made them look like amateurs.

Pls watch that clips again with an unbiased mind. If they had scored half of the clear cut chances they created, they would have won by up to 3-0

I already said they were good (check previous posts) but the goal was from a blunder... The highlights are mainly brazilian highlights though...

that a goal is from a blunder does not mean, it is undeserved.

They worked for that goal. Portuguese defence was jittery and it was just a matter of time before they concede. The Brazilians worked for it. When the cross came from the left, there was nothing the Portuguese defence could do to clear that ball. The Brazilians were all over them waiting to pounce, which they did.

I think it's gonna be a very interesting match on the first of June. The result of that match should not be used to judge both teams. This is match that would be determined by lots of things: technicality, physicality, superior mental strength and the bench.

If the Eagles live up to the hype, I see them stealing the show but not by the margin that people are predicting here. An error could cost us. I hope everything works well.

Bros, those highlights were only brazilian.. They did not show what was created by the portuguese. That is why it seems they were all over them.

I hope so. cheesy..all I want is for Musa and his mates to beat them. It's been a while. We haven't really beaten this team in any FIFA organised tournament while conceding 9-0 since 1983. If wishes were horses, I'd want Awoniyi to get a hat trick, iheanacho hat trick as well...then a brace each for Musa and Mathew.. cheesy. That will give us +1 in terms of goals for against them over all.

I am surprised! Just this highlight u rated Brazil like this, or did u watch d whole match ? Bro u re so biased with ur comment . The same Brazilian team that struggled to qualify also struggled in their under 21 competition , although this is a friendly match that was a defensive error from the Portuguese side and it cost them the game .

If the Brazilian were that good they would have converted all their chances and secured the 3goals . Don't forget this has been their problem since qualifying , struggling. They struggled to qualify , also struggled to to get into d third place . Also they re struggling again in the friendlies ...take it or leave it the team is not good.

The Class of 2013

Two years invariably proves a long time in football, but all the more so when your career is still in its infancy.

As such, the high-flyers from the last edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup are scaling the landscape of the game, and some of them have climbed an impressive way towards its summit. None more so than Turkey 2013 adidas Golden Ball winner Paul Pogba.

Since captaining France to victory in Istanbul, the commanding midfielder has gone from strength to strength. Three successive Italian Serie A titles at Juventus – including a double this season – have preceded arguably the pinnacle of his club career so far: the UEFA Champions League final.

Should he square up against Barcelona in Berlin there will be few doubting the 22-year-old's pedigree to be stood on that stage. His performances for Les Bleus at 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil earned him the Hyundai Young Player Award and firmly established him as one of globe's most promising players, one who is attracting some of the world's biggest sides.

"I am worth €0," he said, baulking at some of the seven-figure sums linked to his name. "I am worth nothing unless I work on the field in every single game. I want to be one of the best in the world and must do everything to reach that level. I hope for the Ballon d'Or in future, but I have a lot of work for that.”

His fellow French class-mates have also grown in stature. Kurt Zouma broke into the Chelsea first team as part of their English Premier League title-winning side, while the likes of Geoffrey Kondogbia, Florian Thauvin and Lucas Digne are regulars for Monaco, Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain.

Pogba is not the only one to have reached the latter stages of the Champions League, or end the season a champion for that matter. Juan Bernat largely flew under the radar when joining Bayern Munich a year ago, but the left-back now finds himself as one of Europe's most promising defenders. He has been a key figure under Pep Guardiola, and Valencia before that, as his intelligence and decisive breaks forward helped Bayern to German Bundesliga success.

Lighting up La Liga
His former team-mate Paco Alcacer has continued his progress too, with a dramatic final-day winner sealing fourth place in Spain for Los Che – plus scoring three in five for the national side, while Carlo Ancelotti rates Real Madrid forward Jese as an “insane talent”.

Across the city from the Los Blancos attacker, a man at the other end has really been making waves. Jose Gimenez has shone at the back for Atletico Madrid, showing maturity beyond his tender 20 years. Coach Diego Simeone rated the Uruguayan's season as “extraordinary”. Having also made the cut for Uruguay's Brazil 2014 squad and won the league 12 months ago, it has been quite the year.

However, in terms of breakthrough seasons, England's Harry Kane's is hard to beat. The U-20 World Cup was not a happy hunting ground for him or his fellow compatriots, but 2014/15 has been the polar opposite, with the Tottenham Hotspur striker netting 30 goals in all competitions.

So impressive has his year been that he even beat the likes of Sergio Aguero into the PFA Team of the Season – voted for by players in England – as well as clinching the young player award. “He could go on to become a great goalscorer for Tottenham and possibly England as well,” said Gary Lineker, an iconic player for both.

Alongside him in white, the Everton duo of John Stones and Ross Barkley have broken into the England squad, while the latter was in tow as England fell at the first hurdle in Brazil. Faring better in that respect was Colombia's Juan Quintero, who after shining in 2013 got his chance a year later, even scoring on his World Cup debut against Côte d’Ivoire.

This year has already seen a selection of graduates impressing on the international stage, too. The Iraq squad who finished third in the AFC Asian Cup peppered with those on show in Turkey. Dhurgham Ismael played every minute of that run, while Ali Adnan – something of a revelation two years ago – also made five appearances.

While in Africa, Baba Rahman and Frank Acheampong went one better. The former played all of Ghana's six games on the way to a CAF Africa Cup of Nations silver medal for the pair.

The Copa America and CONCACAF Gold Cup will likely bring more exposure for some of those on show two years ago, you can be sure that the Class of 2015 will put forward more stars for football's biggest stages.

I think we should be careful how we expect so much from this team lest we have unexpected hbp should they falter. Brazil might have come fourth in the South American qualifiers but they still pose lots of threat.

I like many others wrote them off not just because of their qualifying position but mainly cos of Flying Eagles talents, preparations and results but after watching the Brazilians, I had a change of mind about them. They have tall players like the Germans and could pose threats aerially and physically. They can shoot and score goals from long distances. I think we should be wary of that.

The flying Eagles might have lots of talents but they haven't kicked a ball yet in New Zealand. I still think that under17 is different from under20. It might not be so easy walking in there and coming out with results just like that. While we focus on Brazil, little is known about Hungary or North Korea whom I believe might parade over aged players.

Let's continue to pray and hope that everything works well for these boys. I don't know how much the impact of visa hitches and blending of the duo of Simon and isaac might have on the team. I would have dropped the two if I was Manu and concentrate on the boys who won super6 and AYC. Simon might be a huge talent and experienced but I believe that he could easily be replaced. Same as success.

Nice observation ! But this team has grown from been the under 17 we used to know ,most of us are loyal to them cos they play beautiful football .and the Attacking prowess of the team gives me joy ,as If am watching and playing a Play station game. Although the team is not perfect yet , but they re doing very well and they will keep improving . I will repeat it again ,I want them to go ahead with their unbeaten record , they can do it . Sit down rate them individually ask look at the impact each am every player have on the team , u will know they re bunch of talents .forget the size of the Brazilian and physique , " if they play rough them go collect red card" if u remembered the Senegalese team in d AYC u will know that size doesn't play football ,it's technicality that matters . Also their performance in the super 6 tournament .The best the Brazilian team will get is a draw anything better than that is a win in favor of the flying eagles .

You're right Sir. Brazil keeps struggling. To worsen the matter, Kennedy had been replaced by Malcolm in the final 21 due to a medical operation he's to undergo. But all d same, they're still at full strength(they beta be coz I no wan excuses on their part... I no wan anytin wey go take the shine off our victory ova them) with Jean Carlos of real madrid(reason mosquito was dropped), Andreas pereira of man utd(reason nathan was dropped), Boschilia(bronze boot winner at uae 2013) among others.
Brazil have stars but as a team they aren't too cohesive but they'll still be tough. But in all, I know Nigeria will carry the day with a good dominant win...

Depleted Brazil tackle Australia for Flying Eagles

Five-time U20 World Cup champions Brazil will take on hosts Australia on Wednesday in their final warm-up match ahead of a high-profile group game against Nigeria without top star Kenedy.

Fluminense striker Kenedy, who featured at the 2013 U17 World Cup in the UAE, has since been replaced by Malcom after he suffered appendicitis and had to be operated on in Australia.

Australia did not qualify for the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup.

The Brazilians fired a serious warning to African champions Nigeria after they pipped highly-rated Portugal 1-0 in their final test match ahead of the World Cup in New Zealand.

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will open their quest for the 2015 World Cup when they take on Brazil on June 1 in New Zealand.

But the Brazilians, who failed to qualify for the 2013 tournament in Turkey and barely managed to qualify for New Zealand 2015 as the fourth best team in the South American qualifiers, showed they have to be taken very seriously after they saw off one of the most consistent teams at this level on Sunday.

Second-half substitute Judivan was the match winner for Brazil with a 67th minute strike.

The Brazilians, who are now under new coach Rogerio Micalle, made six changes with Danilo to be booked in the 49th minute.

Before this loss, Portugal had smashed past Uruguay 3-0 and edged Ghana 1-0 in other test games in readiness for the forthcoming World Cup.

Nigeria and Brazil have played out draws in their last two meetings at this level.

They drew 1-1 with the Samba Stars at the Toulon Tournament in France prior to the 2013 U20 World Cup in Turkey.

Erik Lima put Brazil in front after 40 minutes before Alhaji Gero drew level for the Flying Eagles in the 53rd minute with a superbly taken goal.

They also drew goalless in a World Cup group game in 2005 in Holland.

I dont think predicting a 5-0 win for Nigeria shows an underrating of brazil. I beliv those fans predict these outrageous scorelines based on a deep knowledge of the strength and abilities of the Super Flying Eagles. Though I dont endorse such scorelines, remember they hv a rite to be confident based on the boys' potentials. At uae 2013, mexico were defending champs and came in as concacaf winners. Nigeria ignored their impressive C.v. And bashed them 6-1 and the boys who did the job then are here again...

THURSDAY ARRIVAL FOR SUCCESS AND MOSES
Granada striker Isaac Success and Moses Simon from Belgian champions Gent will join the rest of the Flying Eagles camp in New Plymouth Thursday ahead of the U20 World Cup, officials disclosed. “Both Success and Moses are on their way to New Zealand after they set out from Frankfurt, Germany, Monday night. They will stop over in Hong Kong before they fly into New Zealand,” said Flying Eagles team secretary Aliyu Auwal Ibrahim. “The arrival of the two players will give us a complete squad of 21 players who are ready to do Nigeria proud.” Club engagements have meant both Success and Simon could not be part of the Flying Eagles three-week training stint in Nurnberg, Germany.

Kia Motors kicks off New Zealand 2015 with vehicle handover ceremony

Kia Motors New Zealand officially handed over 112 vehicles to support the transportation requirements of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2015. Kia vehicles, including the all-new 2015 Sorento and 2015 Carnival, Sportage, and Cerato Hatch and Sedan, will support the transportation of LOC and FIFA officials and delegates from all over the world.

Todd McDonald, General Manager of Kia Motors New Zealand, formally presented Dave Beeche, the CEO of FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015 Local Organizing Committee, with the Kia vehicle fleet at North Harbour Stadium on Auckland’s North Shore. Also in attendance were Kim Yew, FIFA Marketing Event Manager, and Claude Hollenstein, FIFA Marketing Venue Manager – Auckland.

“We’re delighted to be providing a safe, reliable and award winning fleet of vehicles to FIFA,” said McDonald. “With these games happening here in our backyard, we’re also excited to be partnering with FIFA and bringing world-class football to our shores. All of the volunteers driving the vehicles handed over today have been shown by our dealerships how to setup the car to their preferences. They were chosen to move both people and materials to support the efforts of FIFA and the Local Organising Committee.”

This handover ceremony is an important milestone on the lead up to the games.

Dave Beeche, CEO of the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015 LOC.

Dave Beeche added, “We have been working closely with our partners at Kia Motors for several months having already used their Kia Soul vehicles for marketing purposes since the end of last year. It is fantastic that we can now extend this partnership and we remain hugely grateful for the support of the local Kia Motors team.”

In the lead-up to kick off, Kia launched a key programme that invites Kiwi football fans aged between 8 and 12 years of age to be a game-day Kia Mascot Mate and run out on-field with Wooliam™. Today the New Zealand 2015 LOC is also pleased to announce the child who will be running out on the field with Wooliam at the sold out final on 20 June. After a promotion which engaged soccer mums and dads across the country, Jack Glassenbury from Christchurch is the winner.

“We’d like to thank Kia for the crucial role they play in providing the best possible vehicles to transport our people in comfort, style and safety," Mr Beeche said. "Kia is vital to the operational success of the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015. This handover ceremony is an important milestone on the lead up to the games, it signals that the LOC, FIFA, Kia and the nation are now up to speed and ready to move the event forward."

The Next Messi? Nine future stars not to miss at the U-20 World Cup, Isaac Success Included

The FIFA U-20 World Cup, which starts later this week, is always a showcase of tomorrow’s stars.

Here are nine young talents to keep an eye on through the tournament.

Angel Correa, Argentina. A former San Lorenzo teammate of Montreal Impact star Ignacio Piatti, the exciting forward joined Atletico Madrid in 2014. However, a heart tumor discovered last summer kept him out of action. After surgery and a six-month layoff, he has returned and already has four goals in eight matches with Argentina’s U-20 side.

Godfred Donsah, Ghana. A powerful and quick dribbler, the 18-year-old became a regular for Cagliari this season, contributing two goals and one funky celebration.

Bradford Jamieson IV, USA. The LA Galaxy teenager (pictured right) with the silky skills and the bleached hair opened his MLS account in his second career start (after prepping for the first team by scoring goals in USL with Los Dos) and will be expected to do similar things for Tab Ramos’ team.

Marcos Lopes, Portugal. Potentially the next big thing for Manchester City, he holds the club record for youngest goalscorer when he scored in an FA Cup game in 2014 at the age of 17 years, 9 days. He spent this season on loan with French club Lille, where he scored three goals in 18 appearances.

Hirving Lozano, Mexico. Joint leading scorer at the CONCACAF U-20 Championship in January, “el Chucky” is an established starter for Pachuca and had eight goals in 34 appearances in the 2014-15 Liga MX season. Dutch giants PSV reportedly recently offered $7m for him.

Hany Mukhtar, Germany. A flashy and relentless attacker, the 20-year-old is the only player on the German squad not playing in the Bundesliga, after transferring to Portuguese club Benfica from his hometown Hertha Berlin this past winter.

Andreas Pereira, Brazil. Born in Belgium to Brazilian parents, the 19-year-old No. 10 (pictured right) was recruited from PSV’s academy by Alex Ferguson personally to join Manchester United in 2011. This season he was voted Man United U-21 Player of the Year and made his EPL debut in March.

Diego Poyet, Uruguay. The son of former Chelsea player and manager Gus Poyet, the West Ham 20-year-old represented England at the U-16 and U-17 levels before joining Uruguay’s U-20 set up in March. He is expected to shine in the midfield.

Isaac Success, Nigeria. On the books with Udinese but on loan with Granada, the 19-year-old forward remains the youngest player ever to appear for the Spanish club. He scored twice, including a goal-of-the-tournament nominee, to help Nigeria win the 2013 U-17 World Cup.

Siasia: Brazil Match’ll Determine F/Eagles’ Progress at W/Cup

Former Flying Eagles handler, Samson Siasia believes that the match against Brazil will go a long way in determining how the Flying Eagles will perform at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

The National U-23 Eagles coach who led Nigeria’s U-20 team to the FIFA tournament in 2005 in Holland says if the Flying Eagles can beat Brazil in their first game at the tournament, the players would not have problem qualifying from the group where they will also play Hungary and North Korea.

Speaking from the United States of America where he is currently holidaying, the former Nantes of France forward said the players would have to believe in themselves and have confidence that they can beat the Brazilians.

“Yes, Brazil will parade good players but that does not mean they are not beatable. The first match is very key and they must do their best to make sure they are not defeated in the game and if they can do that, the confidence to qualify from the group will be an added advantage to them”, says Siasia who told Complete Sports that he is going to devote his time to make sure he watches every game the team will play in New Zealand.

Meanwhile, the Flying Eagles who were in Germany for some weeks are now in New Zealand where they will participate in the tournament.

“It was a good move that they traveled to Germany to prepare for the tournament and I am sure that the training camp will help the team to excel in the tournament”, Siasia concludes.

The Flying Eagles had their first training session at 12midnight Nigerian time.
