The probe on NNPC has not even been commissioned yet and they are squealing already!

Its amazing how the operations of NNPC that had always been shrouded in secrecy is being openly and generously shared with the media. NNPC seems to be over-willing to talk to the press and release info after operating like a secret cult for years.

Note that the combined capacity of our refineries happens to be 445,000 barrels per day. 1bbl = 151.4 litres. (445,000 x 151 = 67mil litres of locally produced fuel).

If our refineries work at full capacity, we will turn out 67mil litres per day, use 40mil litres for local consumption and still have surplus 27mil litres to export.

So when president Buhari said he doesn't understand the concept of 'subsidy' he knows exactly what he is saying. NNPC knows this and that's why they are now willing to do the right thing. It would have been business as usual if GEJ had won. They would have continued their unending promises of fixing the refineries to no end.

I keep saying, subsidy was and still remains a scam.
the combined capacity is 19million litres p/d but Nigeria consumes 40million litres p/d which means the shortfall has to be imported and there is still need for subsidy.

I want Diezani prosecuted for the mismanagement she did

Liters of crude oil does not automatically equate to Liters of petroleum derivative.

That woman call Allison should rot in jail for her wicked behaviour. How can someone be so cruel like this? Her behaviour has pass more than "the love of money". I think she was just been wicked, if a director in the NNPC can be secretly be performing an overhauling of the refineries without his minister been aware, that means that the minister was been evil. And I assumed she was/is not a good mother.

Wrong calculation.

At full functionality, we will be getting between 22-32m litres of PMS . . . depending on what the distillation process is optimized for.

BTW, we do not consume 40m litres/day. That's a big fat lie by NNPC!

there are oda products apart from petrol dat u get while refining crude, nd also waste products. these are what accounted for the short value of gaining 19mil litres pd.

Despite the subsisting contract, the operator was not allowed to lift crude oil to the refineries since last year but continues to be paid by NNPC.
#freemoney shocked shocked shocked

This are the only type of people that can be yelling 'GEJ till 2019', that I can relate to.

However, to have same set of people that their lives are being mortgaged yelling 'GEJ till 2019' for sentimental reasons, is so sooo sad.

It's not the entire 445,000, barrels that would be distilled to PMS, you seem to forget that

Infact.....PDP lost the election because they sabotaged themselves....not because of any born to rule story.

People are just making noise. It was the same Jonathan that ordered for the probe of Swap/OPAs. It was the same allison that wrote EFCC to institute the probe. We are yet to see Buhari's input. If anything comes out of the probe, we shall know who the perpetrators are. APC cannot use propaganda to shout when GEJ was determined to purge NNPC.

Extensive interviews with officials of NNPC and industry operators revealed that contrary to the perception that has been created for some time that the nation’s four refineries were operating at suboptimal capacity, thus necessitating the massive importation of petroleum products, certain elements within the system, with endorsement of the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, ensured that the refineries were starved of crude oil.

That's why Abacha, Obj, Yarauda imported fuel, because GEJ and Diezani wanted to pay subsidy on their behalf. This will end up like 99% of APC propaganda stories, Nigerians you people are in for 4 years of hell. July is less than 10 days away, we will be waiting for the petrol coming from the refineries. grin grin grin grin grin grin

Reading through this entire story, from ThisDay,a pro PDP newspaper, leaves one speechless.
,What that govt did to this country is pure wickedness because in all honesty there are a lot of ways to make money in the Nigerian type of govt administration, without this deliberate attempt,to ground operations of a major Nigerian corporation.
For all those calling for the head of Diezanni alone,I liken to playing the ostrich. If anybody understands how executive govts work,it would be quite obvious that GEJ was neck and even foot deep in the grandtheft of our resources. That man was a curse.
I believe PMB would be having sleepless nights on how to deal with GEJ with the revelations he would get from the man's grand corruption. Its a tough call.

I am sure if the refineries are fully functional....we just need about 20% importation.
