all of you that is blaming police if your father is a policeman will you advice him to stay, which type of gun are the police using, or if you see death you no go run, lets forget the issue of police run, the main problem is they were caught unaware by the robbers, from the story the robbers fired at their station first b4 making way into the bank and if na you hear gunshots suddenly coming towards you will you wait, police are also humans like you and i so blame them not... but let us pray for this country that God shud help us be free from robbery, terrorism and corruption cos if there was job some of this robbers wouldn't have turn criminals..... My people perish because they lack knowledge. A policeman without any spiritual protection, are u expecting him to face a spiritual armed robbery gang ? Come to think of it,unemployment is not a positive excuse for one to venture into any social vices.
You are right and come to think of it from estimate they got about 160 million max, let assume about 20 people where involved in the operation, that's about 8 million each. That is not enough money for the risk involved. But wait a minute is there any risk in this type of robbery when they have the audacity to Rob opposite a police station, the time to even call the person that will pick them up. We need to demand action, The Nigeria police has to start making it more difficult for these robbers, if not the rate of this kind of robbery will increase. Have not seen any special planning or tactical acumen except that they were armed to the teeth. What happened to following them with an helicopter from air if you can't engage them on ground, maybe they will panic. Nothing was done, they just got away like that,It is so disheartening, Nigerian police need to by overhauled. Sorry I am ranting, just pouring out my mind

Now I know the reason why thousands of nigerian graduates are struggling here and there looking for the latest aptitude test where they can try more luck for contract low paid jobs. Why comparing Europe with Africa? We are talking about complete armed robbers loaded spiritually with support from the under world, some people are putting blames on police? Only spiritual policemen can confront such kind of criminals, especially the anti robbery squad.

Everybody is blaming the police.blame the government and corruption...some of those policemen earn 50'k/month with a large family, that means almost zero savings.who is gonna take care of his family when he goes fighting sophisticated armed robbers with his archaic weapon..blame the government that honors criminals and terrorist but don't take care of family of servicemen that die on duty...blame the government that fails to understand that the health and security workers should be well paid..instead na politicians dey chop hefty allowances.

We pray that the victims should get well soon.

Meanwhile, I think the police inaction then was ok. Security challenges go beyond physical and immediate/swift response base on the contingency.

If the Police had attacked the robbers, definitely, there would have been death causalities in which its numbers might not be predicted.

However, our security forces should have been able to trail the robbers immediately they were escaping. I hope our security forces did that even if we citizen might not notice it. This may lead to ultimate arrest of the robbers.

That reminds me of a bank robbery incident in Ilorin way back 1996...or 97 there about. The security forces were not visible, just like the case inhere, but already mobilized and positioned themselves in many strategic areas of the town.
While the robbers were about escaping from the town to highway, the police gave them full force of attacks within the outskirt area and the robbers abandoned theirs vehicles, ran into bush, trying to escape. Fortunately & kudos to our forces, they have laid siege in that area as well which immediately became "war zone" or better still, battle ground. To God be the glory, our forces overwhelmed the robbers.....killed some, arrested 3 or 4 thereabout and only 1 escaped with serious bullet wound. It was a triumph to our police then even though some officer sustained bullet wound and other degrees of injuries.

Dude you have been spitting rubbish all over the thread that am forced to believe you are a policeman.. Which stupid spiritual protection are you talking about? Must everything be spiritual to you guys? This is a well planned robbery aided by the fact that we have loop holes and lapses with our security forces... This thinking of spiritually won't help us in this country at all... Those boys should go and pull that stunt in Europe or US let's see if they will live to tell the story... Our police force is weak.. The earlier we admit it, the better for us.

People who think like you are the real problem with Nigeria. People like you sign up on contracts with no intention of keeping your own end of the bargain, just like those policemen. They draw salaries monthly, they extort money from illegal sources, prey on civilians and abuse them daily for personal gain, but when it's time to do the real job pf policing, they run away.

A big shame you and everyone who thinks the way you do.
yes have no problem with you oh.my only wahala is,if the government gives me catapult to fight an ak47 holder, bros name tree I go climb.you know the neglect the Nigerian police has suffered over the yearsy don't you join the police so you could help curb armed robbery..
