Hundreds of traders in Anambra state on Saturday June 27, shut down all markets in the state in protest of Federal Government’s alleged plans to relocate Boko Haram suspects to Prisons in Anambra state.

The traders under the union of Amalgamated Market Traders Association of Anambra (AMATAS) are carrying out a peaceful demonstration in collaboration with Campaign for Democracy.



State Publicity Secretary of AMATAS, Chief Dede Uzor, confirmed the protest saying no market will open in Anambra state today.

He said the planned relocation of Boko Haram suspects to Anambra state poses a security threat to the state.
