According to a Twitter user, the people below above were protesting against NYSC Bayelsa + Bayelsa State Government over the non payment of their allowances. Apparently force (tear gas & gun shots) were used to disperse them. More pics below

That how they land themselves in trouble, I suppose corps member aren't permitted to stage protests,) according to NYSC code of conduct. Besides state allowance(which I think is the reason for thier protest isn't a right but a privilege.

thats the same thing rivers state did to me when I served as 2011 batch b corper.


6months after passing out amaechi was yet to pay one full year allowee to corpers (one hundred and ten thousand naira). and ex corpers had to do small riot at the ph secreteriet.


they finally paid after 8months, though I couldnt collect mine because of work.

I just wasted my 1yr in ph sha

Served in this state back in 2011, and I can understand the plight of this youth Corp members. Bayelsa is one state where things are on the very expensive side. Food ain't cheap yet the useless government pays 3k to corpers. It's really pathetic, considering this is suppose to be an oil state. Mtcheew.
