I know the 30 day rule, meant the housing issue, whether to go 3wks or 2wks before time considering the fact that other students would also go 2wks before hand cos of orientation happpening a wk before classes
3Weeks sound good to me, the earlier the better. It's always good to sought out house issue before school starts.

So I have finally filled and submitted my DS-160 form. Available dates are from August 11, I stayed all night to find an early interview date, it paid off, my interview is on 22nd of this month. Thanks to all the info gotten on this thread, it's worth it. I have complied my mock interview, should I paste it here for review?

I am not a doctor but my friend who is a doctor asked me the possible cheapest tuition fee for mph per year, Lille he asked if he can get like 5-7k tuition per year
it would be difficult unless after some form of aids like scholarships or graduate assistantships. I advice in addition to his GPA which would be converted by WES, he should also have good standardized test results, recommendation letters, and statement of purpose. He needs to thoroughly go thru the schools in "www.ceph.org/accredited". However some unaccredited schools could be cheaper... University of Kent and one other. Will post when I confirm.

Which 1 is better off campus or on campus housing?

Because off seems cheap but I think the house might be empty

Then getting a double room on campus with a roommate how is ?
check for privately owned apartments on campus, on-campus is slightly cheaper in overhead costs wink

Better write GRe and get some assistant.

You'll get cheap mph programs you can even write usmle, if you pass and get residency position you're made for life.

Write gre, pass WELL and get some tuition rebate.

Pls how soon can someone reapply after a denial. I was denied this wednesday and i reapplied today but someone said its wrong. Though i chose aug 11 sha. Any opinion

U can be denied today and reapply today if possible. But the thing there is, ur appointment schedule must fall on a date which is at least seven days later than the date of denial. That's to say that u will appear before the CO for ur interview after 7days of ur refusal.

It's not advisable for anyone to attend an unaccredited program just because it's cheap.
It's the persons loss after graduation

@Ctemi, Medicine is a 2nd degree program in the US as u hv to do a bachelors degree in Premed, or other basic science courses. Medical school is however very difficult to get into as u have to maintain and graduate with a very high GPA. Some schools do not admit non-residents to their program. Most Nigerians that go for their first degrees so that they can do medicine afterwards don't end up being medical doctors. I had about 8 friends in secondary school leave to the US, only one got in. I dont want to discourage u tho.

I am a doctor but studied in Nigeria bt I will advice u go directly to medical school in the Caribbean or Eastern Europe then take the USMLE exams to get into residency which would be quicker and more economical since the final price is working as a doctor in the US. I am going for my masters in Public health bt will switch into a residency program when am through with my exams. Good luck on ur choice tho...

Got friends currently doing residency through this route.
Their advice might be helpful. PM me.

It's not so easy doing residency in the US, honestly I know what they went through before getting placements. And not all of them did. But those that did, are big boys grin

I have a question about this b1/b2 visa. I am a 33 yrs old US Citizen and my girlfriend of 6months is from Nigeria. she is 24 yrs old. She currently has a b1/b2 visa that is valid until 2017 and visit's me in Texas often. We would like to get married here in the US during her next visit in December, she will be here for 3 weeks and will return to Nigeria in January 2016. I know that it is ok for us to marry in US with her passport as ID as long as she intends to return to Nigeria and not stay in US. When she returns in January I will like to file for CR1 spouse visa so I must do the I-130 petition and I-864 affidavit of support correct? I make more than enough and meet the 2014 hhs poverty guidelines. I know she has to do medical exam and vaccination as well and I also understand she has to file an I-485?

My other question is, she was once married before when she was young, she was 24 years old and got divorced only after a year at 25years old. She have my divorce certificate

How difficult can I expect this to be to obtain a GC for her ?Also when I file for the i 130 and it's in processing how does that affect my Girlfriends b1/b2 visa? Will she still be able to visit the US while the petition is going on ?

Nope, thats why I want to go right on time but not too early. Its not being sorted, seen some reasonable fees quoted but I believe I can get something better if i go in person and do more research about the apartment
That's why it's advisable to go earlier. 3 weeks before time won't be bad. You will be glad you left early, you wouldn't wanna joggle study and accommodation wahala at the same time. Make it there in the best posible time. Good luck bro

I don't see any reason why she will have to go back to Nigeria only if she has something profitable to do there. Let her come to Texas, get married in texas and in a month she will get a work authorization and in 5-6 mth she get her green card. I think that's the fastest process since you guys have evidence of the relationship.

A studio is sometimes expensive depends on the state but a 2 bedroom will be cheaper and you get to share bills. Depends on how private you want to be, a studio gives more privacy And finally your pocket matters

Most school don't add meal plan to rent. So confirm from your school. Plus some don't even allow you to cook
