I am surprised that someone actually got time to type so many verses of the Bible claiming they contradict one another. Please be rest assured that that the Bible remains God's true word. All these are distraction by the devil from focusing on the most important thing. These are perilous times. Whether you like it or not, the end is near and while we are busy finding faults in God's words, many are accepting Christ into their life's and are being safe. Never avail yourself as instrument of confusion only to lead few unknown ones to perdition. Hell is real and so is heaven and if are telling ourselves the truth, we will have known that there's no aguement when it comes to authenticity of the Bible. Many more learned persons before you put such aguement before only to later realized their errors. More people will still continue to ague and question so many aspects of the Bible, but it will continue to stand the test of time.

RaptorX:
But I think I you said before that Jesus has presented in the bible does not exist, so if Jesus does not exist what about all the other characters in the bible do they also not exist? And what is the purpose of writing the bible has an allegory when the vast majority of Christians and their pastors believe it's written as literal stories, is God supposed not to be the author of confusion.
ahhh but you see the general myth is that the bible is supposed to be understood by everyone. that is a myth. the LORD does not want everyone to understand the bible. the bible is never supposed to be understood by everyone. this is why the LORD always says stuff like the secrets of the kingdom are not given unto them but only unto the disciples which is why the words are written in symbols and parables. so your pastors are not supposed to be able to understand the bible. they are not ordained to understand the bible. the bible is only understood by a few and these few will emerge when the kingdom of God is established on earth. this is when the deeper understandings of the bible will be unleashed in the world. right now the world is in darkness. but the light is here. at the door. the light is the second coming. only then will you be introduced to what the bible is really about. until then ? everyone is reading it from a darkness perspective. and Jesus Christ does exist however i dont want to get too deep into it to confuse people. and if you read a few posts i made before this that should explain to you if the characters in the bible exist or not. in fact let me quote the post for you. and read the post critically and your answer is in there.

when i say literal, i do hope you understand the meaning of words. when i say the bible is not to be read literally. I do not mean the incidents in the bible are false. God is real. i mean do not read it like a novel. i give you an example. the story of biafra and nigerian civil war based on the igbos thinking they are not getting a fair shake. now this is a real story right ? now let me present the story to you allegorically-symbolically. two twins named ikechukwu and ademola were born on the same day ( ikechukwu is biafra and ademola is nigeria ) but ademola was older by 7 minutes and was much bigger , taller and stronger. when it came time to choose rooms in a new house their father built, ademola picked the bigger and better room and this pissed off ikechukwu who didnt think he was getting a fair shake. so they started a war between each other and fought for a very long time.

now thats symbolism. is the story of ademola and ikechukwu literally true ? no its not. however did the story that was presented symbolically happen ? yes it did. i hope you have been edified. thats how the bible is written. its true however its not literal. which is why it takes special people with the spirit of God in them to be able to understand the bible.

pring:
Religion is an opium for the masses.
I dont know why people still believe in religion.
Ask your self all this questions,
Why do God allow bombs to go off and kill innocent people, yet his omnipresent?
Why do God allow innocent children turned to suicide bombers, sex slaves n killed.
More over, Christianity is just one out of so many religions on earth. Are all other religions and its followers going to the so called hell fire?

bad things happen because there is the devil, remember as long as u are in christ u will experience peace like a flowing river

Re: List: 30 Pairs Of Bible Verses That Contradict One Another by Eze2000(m): 8:11pm On Jul 12, 2015
Mr OP u are looking at things in a way that is horribly wrong.
(1). Can u open a text book on an advanced course like engineering or medicine read, understand, project the knowledge outwardly and give yourself a degree? The words of the holy scriptures has been made easy for the common men to understand to some reasonable degree but its interpretations and projections are by no means easy.
(2) No man can properly analyze the bible without God's blessing of knowledge, understanding and the holy spirit.
(3) We sctually live in a kingdom and God is the king. He can do and undo as he likes but rarely does that. Complete freedom is a gift he chooses to give, we misuse it in all kinds of ways of course but he doesn't revoke it which will mean oppression. God is no bully or tyrant. He is love and delights in being loved and worship by freewill.
(3) Ever visited the site of an accident or an unusual event before? There are a thousand versions of the same story, all eye witness accounts. By the time the story is told and retold .......well the same story developes brand new heads, tails and wings to fly away with the imagination in style.
Man has been a lousy gossip and story teller since creation and sin, did't you know that? God know which is why he allows the of multiple bible books telling the same story i.e the gospel. Read it all and as a layman you get the bang of what took place in the time of Jesus but if you wish to know the real deal then you need a gifted man of God.
(4) Like someone pointed out earlier in this thread lots of mistakes are created by so many translation and retranslation of the bible. in most cases what you are results is what the individuals or groups doing the translations think and believe. However if you get your hands on a direct translation of the Holy scriptures you will realise at once that most of the authors of the Bible books were not men of scholastic excellence hence the origin of most mistakes and misspellings.
Lastly it is not easy to translate a lot of languages directly into English. certain key words simply do not exist.
I could go on and on but the above is word enough for d wise. god is not of chaos and confusion and no one or law can judge him for he created then all and set them forth according to his pleasure.
Yours truly a Prophet of God ( but a doubting Thomas before)

Mr. A argued dat der's no God(in Christ) and Mr. B argued der is. Before the panel dey both argued seriously wit such brilliance. It was time 4d judge to give d verdict and he sed " Paraventure der's no God and d gospel of Christ is false which includes; d end time, heaven n hell den mr. A n B will virtually be loosing nothin xcept 4d time mr. B wasted believing in Christ. And wat If d gospel of Christ is d truth den it won't be funny for you mr. The good thing I like about GOD is dat ur unbelieve of HIM doesn't change wat HE has written and HIS outcome for sinners wen the world ends, I didn't hear of CHRIST or I didn't believe of him won't make u xceptional. Op you must be a very confused, and careless being! You didnt understand the scriptures instead consulting spirit filled belivers who are skilled in the word of truth to obtain clearer insight you allow your ignorance to drag into searching out answers from unverified and atheic source... yet you dissauding Atheist from commenting while you coied down their Athiec publication!
how Ignorant you are, little wonder God cried out in Hosea 4:6 that His children are perishing not due to their SIN but due to their IGNORANCE! Its obvious you are still a babe Hebrew 5:13
Every single post up there are FALSE.... Why not you response to these challenges pointed out than resulting to insult? Somebody is confused about what you so much beliefs in and is crying out for clarifications, yet the only thing you could do is to turn around attacking other's beliefs? Can you see your life? Check out up front how some responded intelligently to some of the issues.

I think this inconsistencies might hv resulted frm the fact that different people translated different portions of the original hebrew scripture. And latter bible publishers didn't actually worked with the original hebrew text, but only tried to breakdown the first english version. To all intent n purposes, God might hv allowed this so that those who would stumble will stumble. Remember blessed r those who did not see but believe.
I thnk in this christian race we hv got to a point whr we hv developed unwavering trust n belief in God nt only because of wht we read in the bible bt cos of our personal experiences concerning God whc further confirm the main message of the Bible

What is not real will always contradict..

The only consistent holy book on earth is Al Qu'ran which contain all the teachings of the true gospel of Jesus and Torah of Musa..

More than 1400 years since it revelation and NOT a single WORD has been compromise or change..Its the same all over the world.A chinese muslim can lead a prayer in a german mosque with a Ghanian among the congregation cos their mode of worship and saying is uniform..

Millions have memorised all the chapters, verses, words, punctuations, exactly as in the book cover to cover..What a miracle!...Many cases of 10 years old memorising the full book,Even the pope doesn't know the whole bible by heart!

ShakurM:
Your verses are taken out of contexts and paragraphs now

When we take text out of their context we are stripping the meaning of the verses and give them a different, and usually a wrong meaning.

Example 1 ;

Matthew 5:39 “if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.”

Jesus is not saying that we shouldn’t defend ourselves but He is using hyperbole or exaggeration.  What He means is that when others insult you, don’t retaliate.  Just turn the other cheek, not to have them slap you there…but to turn the other way and to leave vengeance to God (Rom 12:19. ).  Even Jesus “When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly” (1 Pet 2:23).

Example 2;

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Paul is not telling the church at Philippi that they can do anything they want or can do all things that they want to do.  He is saying that we can do anything “through Christ” or “in Christ.”  The context is saying that we can do anything that is in the will of Jesus Christ because He is the One who will strengthen (enable) you do to it.  Paul is not saying that you can do anything you want or anything in Christ that is not His will but he is saying that we can endure all sufferings if we are in Christ because just before 4:13 Paul writes “Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:  I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need” (Phil 4:11-12).  Paul was writing this in prison and he was likely cold, hungry, and alone, yet he learned to be content in whatever state he was in…but only “in Christ.”  It might be better to think of this as saying “We can endure all things in Christ.”

Example 3

First John 4:16b “God is love.”

Yes, God is love, but that is only one tiny fraction of the manifold attributes of God.  This is like someone saying something about me to another person; “Jack is a cousin.”  Yes, I am a cousin, but I am also a husband, a father, a grandfather, a son, an uncle, and so on.  You cannot elevate one attribute of God to the exclusion of His other attributes.  Many say that a loving God would not send someone to hell because “God is love.” Yes, God is love but love and discipline go together.  Their “God is love” is a God created in their own image.  First and foremost, God is holy.  He cannot even look upon sin and that is why He turned away from Jesus, His only Son, at the cross.  I love my children and my grandchildren and I would discipline them if they ran out into the street to play because they could get hurt, or worse, killed.  My love comes with my discipline. It is exactly because I love them that I do discipline them, just as God disciplines every one of His own children (Heb 12:5-7).

The initiator of this thread is obviously either totally ignorant or mischievous as the argument is baseless. If you have an open mind, a boy with sound sunday school background would handle your observation.

It may however seem to be a waste of precious time to try to explain here as you biased and willingly ignorant.

May the Lord open your eyes to the truth in Jesus' name

SuperSuave:
This is not the first time I noticed some bible verses are actually saying the opposite of another. Isn't the gospel supposed to be preached in one accord? I first noticed that Jesus Christ actually turned water into wine(alcoholic wine not fruit wine cos my Yoruba bible says "oti wine"wink which means Jesus somehow endorses wine. In the same Bible again I saw in Galatians(can't remember the chapter and verse), where the fruits of the flesh were listed, drunkenness was listed also. undecided

Another thing that ultimately made no sense was the whole Old Testament/New Testament conundrum. God actually changes his mind? In Leviticus, God lays down a bunch of laws and calls them “everlasting.” Then in the New Testament, we suddenly hear this:

For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second. —Hebrews 8:7

Another one was when God brought a sheet unto Peter which contained various four-legged and two-legged animals and beasts of different kind, then God told Peter to arise, kill and eat. Peter refused saying he cannot eat unclean things, God rebuked him by saying how can he(Peter) call the things He(God) created unclean?

And later I read another verse where God outlined the forbidden animals, birds and beasts we should not eat. undecided

I was confused, so I went online to checkout if there are more Bible verses that contradicts one another, the ones I found are listed below

One important thing is that we keep our eyes on the ball as it were and not miss the important things. Christ has saved us, we believe in God, God loves us and hears us and see us, we fear God, we are expecting Jesus. Keep these in mind and as priority above all else, whatever may want to rock your boat. The Word of God is Life, its not a piece of paper, it is something God breathes into.
Joh 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

The flesh and letter is of no profit. Let's not lose the substance chasing shadows. The life is not in Moses's rod or Aaron's rod or Paul's handkerchief, it is God. Let's not leave God, and be chasing papers and alphabets.
That been said, most of what words mean depend a lot on context. If you miss CONTEXT, you miss everything. A simple "I am coming" may actually mean that you are going, it's context. Also, the right leg is not the same as the left leg, in fact they seem opposite but they are one in the body.
Jesus Christ actually turned water into wine, however the Bible does not say that it is alcoholic. Words or vocabulary do not necessarily fully or perfectly describe everything.
Old Testament/New Testament is not a change of God's mind. It is simply two different covenants. While the two covenants are everlasting, one is plainly/clearly better than the other. Peter's dream also has to do with the covenants. Peter was in the new covenant. IBM's mainframe computer and present day computer are different computers. They may both have different/differing manuals and fine print agreements.

Bible was not initially written in chapters and verses, Bible is more of stories than laws, follow it story by story you will see the independence of the stories and instructions. Drunkenness is taken wine to excess, Binging. Jesus didn't say you should avoid alcohol, but don't abuse it.
Modern illiteracy is when you do not have a dictionary. The writer is canal so the Bible is not for you. God said only the Holy Spirit that can make you understand the Bible.

There is no contradiction in the bible. It all about your understanding of the bible message. You don't give direct meaning to some bible verses, u have to read the preceding verses before getting the actual meaning of some bible verses.
