forgiveness:see the lies you were spreading. He was not made head of state. Ironsi merely asked them to surrender the reins of power to him so he could restore peace in the heated entity called Nigeria. Dipcharima and his fellow northern supporters of Balewa had no choice but to surrender for they feared use of force. Do your research. I won't spoon feed you next time you run posting nonsense. 1 Like |

lastpage: Why are you warning me?. I am as yoruba as they come. So if one says the truth, he is no longer yoruba again. You didn't address the fact that fulanis see our land as a war booty and Junaid mohammed(who is no longer blowing hot air since the daura man came aboard) once proclaimed that the calipahate will not ceed any inch of kwara if Nigeria breaks up, this is slavery. You need to address this facts instead of covering your face with your wife's panties when the truth is shown to you. 3 Likes |

logica: We obviously can't ever be equal, I think the best thing is for us to go our separate ways. A Yoruba cherishes his name, an Igbo man wants money at any cost an Hausa man prefers his cattle to his own child. We all have different goals and idealogies and can't totally integrate not even in the next 300 years! Let us divide, it is the best thing for us. Nature divided us and we should accept it as God's plan. 1 Like |

klevjey:Exactly! this was what i said earlier in a thread today. Yoruba are so self centered and self conceited, they feel they are to smart and are so arrogant, otherwise who wakes up one morning and arrogate the title of most sophisticated to himself? On one breadth, they say ND oil belongs to all Nigerians but Lagos belongs to Yoruba only in another breadth. useless, hypocritic leeches and double-faced cowards 3 Likes |

Largas: Since all ironsi wanted was to restore peace to the country, he should simply have provided strong support for Dipcharima to take over as the prime minister as at that time. As the GOC, he was effectively in control of the military and since the coup already failed, he should simply have helped the elected civilian leaders to stabilise and restore order in the country. But instead, he forced them out and took over government. He even went ahead and promulgated the stupid unification decree that was the basis for the near unitary system of government we practise today. You people should stop defending what is obvious, Ironsi was well aware of the plot before hand and he supported it covertly. He emerged as the major beneficiary of the plot and was justly killed in the reprisal attack. 1 Like |

SUBWAY101:you have been running amok lime a lunatic on this thread spewing thrash. Why do yolobastards always scream that oil belongs to Nigeria? but will never admit that Lagos also belong to every Nigerian? Lagos state is our commonwealth, it was built by the oil proceeds from oil producing states and the sweat of hardworking Nigerians, hence is a no mans land. Deal with it. 2 Likes |

Largas: Hmmmm! @ the bolded is interesting. Do you mean Ironsi was not made Head of State by the coup plotters but HE merely made/asked them to surrender to him? How did he make them(Democratic Government) to surrender to him(millitary officer), at gun point or willing? because you said they had no choice. Are you saying they had no choice to handover to a constitutional next highest Government ranking official after the demise of the prime minister? Or was it constitutional for Ironsi to become head of states? Infact, does Nigeria have a Constitution as at that time? and if yes, What does the constitution states about the rightful person to be made interim Prime minister or whatever? 1 Like |
