It obviously performed flawlessly. I love this Namibian vehicle, it has this Ugly-Beautiful feel to it. It's like a better looking casspir.

That had better be a police vehicle. Transporting troops on that in a combat zone would be a dereliction of duty. The seat configuration for starters! Seats on a genuine APC are mounted on an individualised basis and NOT floor-mounted! Basic physics.

It is mainly for police and law enforcement Agencies. It is a Light armoured personnel vehicle.

However, I support the use of these vehicles for frontline COIN operations. They are light, fast, easy to maintain and provide considerable protection against 7.62mm and grenades.

For COIN they are significantly better than using soft-skin vehicles for operation. The Turkish Army use the Otokar Tuplar for extensive operations against the PKK, the Ukrainians use the Streit cougar for ATO, the mexicans have a similar vehicle, the Egyptians, and a host of other countries use similar Light Armoured Personnel Vehicles for COIN.

I see absolutely no problem deploying them.

thermal or night vision sights ? undecided

Sweet, finally the Nigerian Army now field proper rifles like the Navy and Airforce.

It seems like a thermal sight. This is the only logical sight to get.

The U.S that refused to sell you Cobra Helicopters, suddenly has now had a change of heart, and instead would now sell you Apaches......... LOL!

If you believe this, then I'm the next in line to the British throne.

The globe trotting president and his traveling band of circus clowns have wasted their time and tax payers money in fruitless trip to the U.S.

That's a Eurocopter EC645 the military version of the H145. Its a scout Helicopter. Great find!

All the Scout Helicopters Purchased by the military are from Eurocopter, the Fennec, Gazelle and now the EC645.

Before the Year runs out, the Ship should be commissioned into service, so, there's a probability the vessel is in Nigeria, however I'm not sure.

What is certain though is, 3 Navy ships are currently in China receiving an up-grade. They sailed into wuhan a couple months back.

NNS Andoni 2, the Nigerian Navy's second domestically built 40 meters Seaward Defence boat/ Inshore patrol vessel at the Dockyard receiving a sand-blast.

The vessel is almost ready for commissioning into NN service.

I mentioned the Chinese rocket MRLS Mike. Got the diameter wrong though. They're 107mm. Forgot the 40mm AGL, the Milan ATGM, the 2-tube Ingwe and the 3-tube Starstreak. Not bad for a golf cart size, eh?
Of interest, their Supply Unit guys tested some Navistar vehicles not too long ago. Personally I think they should complement the Hornet with the RG32M.

A single Dshk Round into that vehicle......... And it's "bye bye black bird"!

Those vehicles(Special forces Vehicles) do not provide any real advantage to the Soldier, especially the average soldier from a developing country. I do not have an idea how much the South-African vehicle costs, but the Panhard SPV, Supacat Jackal SPV, Dutch AATV costs up-wards of €800,000 a unit.

€800,000 for a vehicle that seats only 3-4 men, has virtually no protection, and is armed with only a 50 Cal. Man gun and a secondary GPMG is a waste of money. The sort of comms equipment they carry isn't enough reason to cost that high, neither is there AAT capability.

The only reason i like these vehicles (SPVs) is because of aesthetics, they make the SOF/SF look cool, asides this no actual practical use for them.

First world armies usually have dedicated attack and utility helicopters attached to their SF units, hence firepower isn't much of an issue.

Its easily air-transportable mobility that they bring

As well as mobile weapons platforms

You can sling a Hornet with 120mm MRLS under a Oryx... you cant do that with a Bataleur

Plus, ours stop 7.62 on the frontal arc and provide a degree of mine protection.

They also bring organic transport to airborn units (see Chinese Pic related)

Everything is, including an F-16!

12,800 tonnes LAV-25's are also Air transportable. Those things u mentioned above can all be carried out by MRAPs( Oskosh M-ATV, Sandcat) and LAVs.

These vehicles are just Jeeps that are un-necessarily expensive.

For airborne operations or air-assault operations or SF operations there is no way that an MRAP is suitable

Just talking about paratroopers and logistics alone, MRAPS are in no way suitable.

Those vehicals provide mobility (which an MRAP does not have in comparison), versatility and enough protection as well as a significantly reduced battlefield signature (sight and sound)

You are thinking about normal infantry operations where supply and logistics are sorted... with SF or Airborne, unless you can drop it out a plane or sling it under a blackhawk/Oryx its useless

Yes you can paradrop and MRAP (actually, I dont think anyone has done that)... so theoretically you can do so, but one mRAP will take up a whole C130... you can drop a number of such light platforms from one C130. And easily extract them under a medium lift helo when the operation is over.

Even if you are doing a TALO operation... MRAP's arent suitable
