@ferdimako: pls does it mean you only need 50 points to assess for 489 Visa as opposed to the 60 points? pls i need clarification undecided
d region donates 10 points to u, making it 60. just read up, bro.

.

Yes its on assessment level 3. His HND was in the 2000 and he also completed his MBA last year 2014.

Pls can he filed in his assessment with the MBA (2014) or he should only file his HND. If he filled in with HND upper credit (Estate Mgt 2000) & MBA (2014) Will Vetassess start counting his work experience (Date deemed skilled ) from 2014 which will give zero score on work experience or only is HND which will give a maximum marks of 15points. His age range is (33–39 years) and already has over 13years experience as a property manager.

Pls kindly advice

Using only HND gives 10 points if judged equivalent to their two-year advanced diploma but when u bring in his MBA, it could be judged as aussies's Masters degree and u get 15 points. But since bachelor or Masters degree equivalency is not needed to nominate that occupation.. no need. If u do bring it in, u lose the 13yrs of relevant work experience migration points before the MBA...but with only HND u get 10points + 15 points from work experience which sum up to 25. It's logical to know that 25>10!

Age gives him 25 points. All he needs now is competent level of an English test (zero points) unless the region wants more than 60 points to nominate. I read somewhere of a state or region that needs 80!

Ferdimako has answered you.

Yes, his MBA can be used here without assessment. Although some ppl start afresh when they get here, and get Aus certifications in other areas/career paths.

Australians are not crazy about certificates, it is purely what you can do. So, having an MBA as a Property Manager to me is not an added advantage when the quallification required is Cert 3 or IV. Getting into the unfamiliar terrain is another issue entirely. You might just prepare your mind to do some Aussie certifications that will enable you to practice.

I think what hee means is if he can use his MBA in any career that requires it, not that he wants to use the MBA for a property manager job.

Hello ladies and gents. Please since Australia would not grant me visa,I have decided to do my undergraduate programme here in Nigeria and my sponsor has agreed to that then later i would go to Aussie for my msc degree by God's grace. So,the snag i am catching now is that,my sponsor tried sending me some money last week from Australia through Western Union, and to my greatest surprise, they denied her access to that, disparaged and insulted her for trying to help an African, they even called her a scammer and they cancelled her WU gold account. She felt bad likewise me,but she is determined and asked me to seek other ways. Please guys,is there anyone in Australia who has ever sent money home or someone who is experienced about this should pls enlighten me on how to go about this. Is there no other ways to send money from Australia to Nigeria apart Western Union? Thanks all. Stay blessed.

hello everyone! pls i just got my permanent residency visa to Australia, myself and my family actually. pls i need the following information to make our relocation successful.
1. where in Australia are some blacks and a few immgrants resident? so that one can have that sense of 'family-community'
2. i will really appreciate what rent in those places are like to help me budget
3 how soon can i get a job as a graduate of English Language and a Masters in Counselling (education). my husband is an IT auditor with bot CISA and ICAN qualifications.
4. is there a particular time school children must arrive to make resumption in primary schools?
5. Lastly, i need a supervisor for a doctorate research. does anyone have any idea how finding one can be easier?

i will really appreciate good responses. thank you.

Congrats! Seeing that you have been silent for a while, i would have loved to see you share your timeline. Well from my research.

1. In terms of multicultural exposure, from the highest: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, .....Sydney would have been first but for the higher real estate and cost of living.
4. Schools in the Southern areas, all of NSW resume in January.

Just my two cents but I stand to be corrected. I'm sure folks who are already settled will have more to chip in.

Immigrants are everywhere. I would advise you dont restrict yourself to blacks. Mix with the locals. They are really nice people, even though you do get the occasional numbskull. But if you insist, the capital cities in Australia have a high number of immigrants....but you will end up paying more for everything. Since your husband is in IT, a capital city or a near-capital city like Wollongong/Geelong in NSW etc, will be fine to settle. Only that you will have to commute to the city for work. I guess you have a 189.

2. i will really appreciate what rent in those places are like to help me budget

Check realestate.com.au.

3 how soon can i get a job as a graduate of English Language and a Masters in Counselling (education). my husband is an IT auditor with bot CISA and ICAN qualifications.

Everyone is different. I started work after a month of arrival, and all I did was apply through a regular job advertisment. My hubby on the other hand, took a bit longer, and he got his job through man-know-man. Which brings me back to you mixing with the locals, and not just immigrants.

4. is there a particular time school children must arrive to make resumption in primary schools?

This I'm not sure of. You will need to contact the schools directly. They should accept mid-term entry.

5. Lastly, i need a supervisor for a doctorate research. does anyone have any idea how finding one can be easier?

Have you gotten the admission yet? Dont think getting a supervisor is hard, people here have gotten supervisors while they were still in Naija sef.

i will really appreciate good responses. thank you.

My answers are in bold. You should be able to get a job as a teacher...not sure tho. Congrats. Victoria is the multi-cultural capital of Australia, that I can tell you. So you guys can choose that state.

Your hubby's job might likely determine where you will eventually settle. You should be able to fit in in any of the city. He should not wait to arrive before he starts to apply for job. www.seek.com.au and www.indeed.com.au will be of great help. Considering his qualification and experience, he might likely end up in Sydney or Melbourne, so prepare for high cost on rents although it is relative.

Children can be enrolled at anytime of the year once they have reached school age. Your children must be 5years old before they can start primary school in NSW. Every state has their own school age. So, where you will eventually settle should determine that.

Getting a supervisor for your PhD should not be an issue. As a PR holder, your PhD is tuition free.

Yes, straight to the recipient's account and within few minutes (2-5mins) the money is in the account. You could also buy recharge cards for someone through it. Very effective way of transferring money. But unfortunately, you cannot transfer money from Nigeria to Australia through them. Is there any way one could transfer money from Nigeria to Australian's bank account apart from inter bank transfer?
