The wait is over and we say Welcome to Windows 10

Who knows whether Windows 10 will finally come up to win back its lost glory and compete favorably among android, iOS and blackberry OS.

Now here are all the major things you need to know about the Windows 10 Operating System roll out as maintained by Microsoft.

The full version (built) of Windows 10 will officially start rolling out to 190 countries in 111 languages on the 29 July 2015.

Free update to the Windows 10 will be available to Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users for the first one year, however, Windows 8 users will have to upgrade to Windows 8.1 before they can receive the free Windows 10 upgrade.

Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users can pre-register for their free Windows 10 upgrade by clicking at the Windows logo that will have appeared on the right hand side of their task bar and indicate their interest and wait till the day the upgrade will be made available to their system.

As a mark of appreciation to the 4.4milion people that participated in the Windows 10 insider program earlier before now, Microsoft has made it known that the Windows 10 will be delivered first to those set of people from the start date of Windows 10 roll out before it will gradually go round to other Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users on desktop PC and tablets that have reserved their copy.

For those that have reserved their copy, once a copy becomes available, Microsoft will check their device for compatibility and deliver Windows 10 to them for automatic download.

Systems requirement for the 3GB size Windows 10 upgrade on 32bit desktop and tablet PC includes at least 1GHz processor or faster, 1GB RAM, 16GB Hard disk and 1GHz processor or faster, 2GB RAM, 20GB Hard disk for 64bits systems.

Also a DirectX9 or higher versions of graphic cards with a WDDM 1.0 driver are required for both 32bits and 64bits system, together with at least 800 X 600 display.

Why do Windows 8 users have to upgrade to 8.1 while Windows 7 users get to upgrade straight to 10?

Microsoft and their overpriced software, this ain't 1995 where people queued up just to get Win95. Linux with its various distros is the future...

That Win8 was a complete disaster in my opinion..

I'm using win10 rtm since about 2weeks now. Its promising and still need plenty of updates

I wouldn't say Windows 8 was a total flop. but rather, the changes were too radical. For what it's worth, Windows 8 is still the fastest Windows os ever.

I don't know why you have to answer him, you should have tell him to use Google. People have been using the technical preview since last year. The (RTM) build 10240 is awesome, but still needs some touch. Though some of that have been fix with updates rolled out after the released of the RTM

You can just download the .iso file with simple server and burn to a disc or usb.

it was initially made for touch screen devices...why the brought it out for all? idont know ...if only the kept it that way tho..and another for their pcs. God bless em anywy
