Hi Virgokobi, that's too harsh, this thread is full of credible people with purposeful life. You should have read this thread from some pages backward. And what tola73 said is for your own good. The guy really deserve an open apology.
There is no point sending PM's. Let them share any help they have so that others can learn from it. If everyone sends PM, then what is the point of having this thread
Nairaland is indeed a faceless forum where you don't know who you are dealing with. Some people also have multiple ID's used for dubious purposes.
Although virgokobi should have not called tola73 a 419. He could have simply requested that any help should be rendered and discussed in the open.

Firstly forget about the land and the cars, they need to see unencumbered cash or fixed deposit except you sell the properties and show the proof of sale before you apply. The land is even in your wife's name and if you're the principal applicant that won't cut it. Now the 1.5m, you'll have to get a sworn affidavit from your family members explaining that they've given you the funds as a gift (not loan). You'll still also need to show the bank statement from your paid job though so they'll see you're working hence will make your case strong and credible. Goodluck!

thanks
my wife is the principal applicant and I have a paid job.

well it is funny if CIC states on their website that landed properties can be accepted and they refuse applications.

If I have to use a Fixed deposit how long will the money have to be and do I also have to show proof of the funds.

With my case as stated kindly give me further options I can use because the fund is not really an issue is how to present it suitably.

17.07.15 - ITA received.

Hello all. My wife just received our ITA as dated above.
The challenge now is the POF. I have a paid job but my account balance cannot be used to apply for PR.
The good news is that we have funds available from family members (1.5million) and my wife has a land in her name with C of O valued over 3 million.

Also we have cars worth about 2 million and other house hold items.

Can the pros kindly advice how we can show proof of funds with all of this.

I believe another language they used was that the money should be 'accessible' . so the items you mentioned won't cut it except they are in your account.

The fund can be in either of you folks account. In this case, fixed deposit should be a good option which will accompany your bank statement and, it doesn't have to be there for long(I've actually heard of people who terminate it after like 2 or 3days and please, I'm talking authoritatively, don't let anyone discourage you). You didn't however provide us with your wife's employment status, that can have helped our judgment better. Finally, I know you have apologized for the statement you made about tola73 but, try and restrain yourself next time. You may have chased away one of our resource persons here who has been helping lots of people long before now and others who would have benefitted from his wealth of experience may have been denied by that action. It might also interest you to know that you will likely still need guidance after this period so, it's instructive to be careful how you address people.

Actually the funds have to be either in his wife's account (since she's the principal applicant) or a joint account held in his and his wife's name. Now CIC asks for 6 month's average balance although the funds don't have to be there for the duration of the 6 months.

Is that a new rule?
Back in 2011. My wife was the principal applicant while I solely had the pof in my account since she wasn't making much from her job. She even applied with her maiden name. We got our visas without any issue or further request of pof.

This is the new rule regarding assessing EE applications in the link below. If you look at the POF section it says that the principal applicant should submit the POF. I also know of someone who confirmed from CIC that the POF should be in the principal applicant's name or joint with spouse.

You are not required at the point of registration on EE to forward your language ability test resut, but you'd need to fill in the test details and result when registering.

I've been in this thing for a little while and active in other fora, that Virgokobi issue usually comes up. It's usually discussed in private, nothing illegal but issues like that are worked out in private. Tola73 was just trying to help.
To the issue, those assets must be liquidated with credible evidences to back it up. That 'family' gift aspect has to be carefully handled. Not to scare u but I have heard of a case where the PA submitted evidences of cash gifts and deposits from liquidated assests yet he was rejected. Another person was asked for something like that after MR was done, some experienced peeps gathered and assisted, the person is in Canada now. So, the issue of POF is a very delicate one.
Wish you the best

@zeelo2014,

Thanks a bunch. I am a November applicant and I was surprised to read that some of the November applicants have been issued with MR already. I thought it was gonna come in like September. Looks like AVO is expediting stuff.

Cheers.

^^Yes, that's true. There's a November 9th applicant with MR. you should be expecting as well. Looking forward hearing from you this week.

wrote mine June 27th and 28th, yeah Saturday and Sunday. some had theirs 26th and 27th. generally and officially, Speaking test is done on a separate day. ...but per chance, you could do all the same day if you wanna save British council some sweat, and invariably yourself, time. (i advise different day though)

you will receive your test details latest 4 days prior the exam date, by Tuesday. no cause for alarm.
all the best

Hi house,

There are several designated ECA bodies but personally I believe the best is WES. Simply go to their site (see link below) register, pay the fees then go to your school and ask them to please send a copy of your sealed transcript to WES. You also need to download a form from the WES website for your school to complete, sign, stamp and send along with the transcript. Furthermore you need to separately send a copy (not original) of your degree certificate to WES yourself.

http://www.wes.org/ca/fswp/

Don't forget that all correspondences sent to WES must include your WES application number which would be provided to you after you've made your payment. Just to recap, the documents you need to send to WES are your transcript and WES form (sent by the school) and a copy of your degree certificate (sent yourself). On receipt of these documents WES will then contact your school via email to verify the transcript and after successful verification assess your qualification. Hope this helps.
