Serving in the military in exchange for U.S. Citizenship in less than 10 weeks sounds like a good deal to me.

You should book a 1-way ticket. But someone had mentioned recently that the 2-way ticket he had found was actually cheaper than 1-way, which is strange anyway. But if you do find a 2-way ticket actually cheaper than 1-way, go ahead and book it however you would only utilize the one-way (destination flight) part of the ticket and ignore the return part.

I think we discussed this yesterday. You have every tool at your disposal to enrol in school and get a US degree. Majority of college students you see walking around on campus pay their tuition and fees on loan (FAFSA) and some begin to pay back once they are done with school and are working or some begin to pay back before they are done with school, depending on the circumstances or terms and agreement of the loan.

Go for it. Do what you have to do to graduate. After you graduate you can start paying back that loan month by month until you finish paying it off.

I only mentioned that majority of college students utilize FAFSA, the majority which of course are residents and citizens, to buttress a point that he is not alone in going to school on loan as majority of college students do so.

Use Emirates and you won't need a transit visa for most airlines since you won't be leaving the airport anyway during your stop-over at dubai or doha etc.

With all these rush people have for citizenship, citizenship isn't favourable for americans when it comes to taxation. Be aware of the double taxation requirements for US citizens. As a US citizen, if you happen to be working abroad, say in Nigeria, you are required to pay taxes to the Nigerian government as well as to the US government - you are taxed twice. Now, this is in full effect for american expatriates working for the US government but in countries abroad such as a visa officer, for example, but now I am not too sure if this applies to a US citizen who happens to be working for a private company in a foreign country or a US citizen working for the Nigerian government in Nigeria.

Some people are renouncing their citizenships because of the double taxation of US citizens by the law, the most common examples being facebook co-founder, Eduardo Saverin, Jet Li etc. Double taxation is even worse for business owners as they would have to pay a greater part of their profits as taxes.

There is a business man based in Nigeria who is quite wealthy. This man's children were all born here in the US and are citizens and his spouse is a citizen but this man chose not to pursue residency or citizenship in the US so as to avoid the very burden of paying taxes on his business profits to the US government after paying taxes to the Nigerian government, which does not make sense to think when his business operations are not based in the US at all. Instead, he visits his family regularly on B1/B2 visitor's visa.

This is to just let everyone know of certain requirements of US citizenship.
