El-rufai is good 4 KD

True, I don't support illegal structures. But the issue is that people buy lands, not knowing they are not for residential buildings.. embarassed

If I were Elrufai l would have converted those properties to students' hostels instead of demolishing them

Those that sold those illegal lands should also be prosecuted.

Even if its sitting on a road or a drainage Thats why its always advisable to visit government office after acquiring properties to verify things instead of bitting your fingers when things like this happens

What he did in Abuja as FCT minister back in the days is while we are not having flooding in Abuja. He should continue, we need many of his type in Nigeria.

Is it legal structure? If it's not then it's not and must go down, let's stop building slumps.

since these are illegal, cant he just kinda reach an agreement with the owners and use these properties for the school that the land originally belongs to?

Demolition of this =5,000,000+cost of fuel for caterpillars+waste of focus and time total=10million worth

cost of now setting new foundation+school or hospital structure=100million

reach formal agreement and place a warning to these owners, now they know its on govt land, these should just give them something and leave d structures=5million

zealous fire, hope it burns still.

What's it with el rufai and demolition? He did same in abuja few years ago rendering a lot people homeless without providing alternative to them.

Actually i dont think Ei Rufia is to be blamed,if a reasonable person to lay that kind of structure he/she have to make enquiry i mean a good one at that.nw this is a waste of TIME,ENERGY and RESOURCES.

this is what one governor did in Rivers state and could not build again till he left to abuja

Let's look at this in a different perspective. Why destroy already built properties worth millions when you can make extra cash on it. It's waste of resource's and citizens hard earned money.

In my opinion, I'll rather he set a different property tax regime on properties already built on government lands because the reality is that even after demolishing the properties the land will just be empty or probably have flowers planted on it hence "zero economic value".

But by setting a different tax regime on such properties, the state could generate more money across the whole state. Demolishing properties will be seen in a different perspective by others who may think he is on a vindictive drive.

Why does this satanic El-Rufai loves to inflict pains on people
Same way he was demolishing properties worth Billions when he was minister of FCT
Even if those people built houses on government owned land, there is provission for ratification

Not surprised. He meted out similar treatment on Abuja residents when he was FCT minister. The people of Kaduna should have seen it coming.

I'm not from the state and I don't know what obtains there so I will not be biased.

As long as the governor is not using it to settle political scores with his enemies , opposition or certain tribes, if the demolition is for the benefit of the entire populace, and the lands illegally acquired, then he should go ahead but compensate the owners properly.

But if it is meant to witch hunt and destroy his opponents or targeted at particular set of people or tribe, then God will judge.

El Rufai is daft and I have no apologizes for saying that. His excuse for demolishing them is that they are zoned for Hospitals and Schools. Can't he build the hospitals and Schools in other areas? Kaduna has a land mass 5 times the size of Lagos, so why can he focus his development there. If the lands were committed lands for bridges, dams, pipelines etc or hazardous things I would concur with his reasoning but schools and hospitals that could be established elsewhere is not a reason to demolish their houses. It's crazy and criminal and I advise the owners of these houses to sue the Kaduna state government if he ever attempts it. What's wrong with this man sef? In Lagos if such a thing happens and so many people build on Government land, the penalty is ratification and all parties are happy. Why can't he use the same format his fellow APC brothers in the South west are using. Did they know they were buying government land? Who would build a house in a restricted zone? The only thing he knows how to do is demolish and demolish. Short man devil angry

Nigerians and double standards.
We want the right things done and yet are not willing to let them happen.
We are talking about multi millions forgetting the fact that the structures are sitting on the wrong places.
What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong.
We can't take laws into our hands and expect the law not to take its course.
Multi million naira or one thousand naira house, let them give way to serve as deterrence to others who always feel they have connections.
