Rooney, Ronaldo and Messi are in the same goals bracket for national team. Berbatov is a nothing but a weak opposition specialist. You cannot even find some of his national team matches in data base. Perhaps he scored then against Oman.

2000/2001 Iceland 2 goals.

2001/2002 Malta 2 goals.

2002/2003 Albania 2 goals.

2003/2004 Lithuania 1. Estonia 1. Andora 2.

2004/2005 Iceland 2 goals. Malta 2 goals.

2005/2006 Iceland 1 goal. Hungary 1 goal.

2006/2007 Belarus 2 goals.

2007/2008 Luxembourg 2 goals. Albania 1 goal.

2008/2009 Georgia 3 goals. Malta 2 goals.

Goals against quality sides :
2001/2 Denmark 1
2002/3 Germany 1. Croatia 1. Belgium 1
2003/4 Russia 2. Cameroun 2
2004/5 Croatia 1.

Go and list them. I have put some energy in this. You do some work.

Rooney has goals against Argentina, Brazil, Ukraine, Scotland, Uruguay, Switzerland, Slovenia, Norway etc. Even some from Euro 2004 I have forgotten the oppositions.

But you know England is a top country too, so you'd expect Rooney to face these countries in tournaments or friendlies. Bulgaria hardly qualifies for top tournaments, so the chances of Berbatov meeting top countries are minimal. BTW, Norway and Slovenia no follow for top footballing countries jare.

The major problem is the balance of goals between big oppositions and small oppositions irrespective of tournaments/qualifiers /friendlies played.

Another problem is that I could not get all Berbatov matches. Perhaps too weak to be captured. grin

Norway and Slovenia are not weak. If you have then in your group in world cup or Euro you won't sleep.

Erm....bros take a look at these records for posterity...."scoring 50 goals in 124 games
across all competitions for psv....emerged dutch league top scorer with 22 goals in 30 games, helping psv win the 2014–15 eredivisie title...Depay was a key part of the netherlands Under-17
team that won the 2011 european championship and already has 19 caps and 3 goals for the oranje"...

So he is already "a league champion, dutch golden boot winner and a european champion, and member of his national sides senior team" all at just 21 with a lot of time on his hands to get better!

Now I don't know if this your bitterness is as a result of hazards horrendous league form, or maybe coogar is owing you and you never see alert! But abeg he is right! Memphis depay is a very good footballer and on current form THIS SEASON he has outperformed that thing you guys call eden! Don't belittle the boy over bantz! And coogar abeg pay this dude so that his "soccer myopia" gets cured for good!

Wijnaldum was the best player in dutch league,he won the award even though Depay was the golden boot winner....That tells you something, Depay is a good scorer and that's it about his game ...
The argument was really if Depay is good, its comparing him to Hazard.... Only certain United fans in the delusion world will tell us A PLAYER WHO ISNT THE BEST IN DUTCH LEAGUE IS BETTER THAN THE BEST IN ENGLAND.......
Its a sick talk really,a talk that only exist in United's world.. Outside of that,no one see it as a debate cos its soo rubbish......

Depay is good,sure...but so are several others including Wijnaldum ...But to say he is better than Hazard? Eden is soo above that level....

The truth about hazard this season for the shekpes to ponder.....

Exhibit A:

"He [Hazard] was the worst tonight. I thought
about substituting him, but in the last 10 minutes
he always has the ability to do that. At the World
Cup, this was the case. I obviously expect more
from him, but he will grow as the season
progresses" - Belgium manager Marc Wilmots.

Exhibit B:

"If you are the best player in the league, I think it
should be a good responsibility to have a similar
season than in the previous season. I don't want
to analyse individual performances. In general
terms, it is difficult to have a consistent
performance when some of the players are not
performing at a good level" - Chelsea manager
Jose Mourinho.

During Chelsea's league campaign of 2014/15,
Hazard had a shot on target every 102.2 minutes and contributed a goal or assist every 146.6 minutes. So far this season, he has had two shots on target, 0 goals and 1 assist. He is also dribbling past players with the ball at a slower rate, averaging fewer touches per game and fewer passes too. There are plenty of candidates more deserving of criticism than Hazard for Chelsea's pathetic situation, but there is no doubt that the Belgian is currently falling far short of potential.

Dazzol!!!

Impressive stats when compared to Berbatov. But you have to admit if Rooney was a Bulgarian, he wouldn't be much chanced to square off against top teams like he did with England. Anyway, my anger with Rooney is only on the club level. He can go on a 30-match goal-less streak for England, it's not my fùcking biz; but for ManU, he must deliver. £300K no be moi-moi.

The 300k will soon go to a younger player. It looks like Rooney needs a miracle for a turn around because his greatest asset is missing. That is energy and speed in his game. His football now looks more like that of Benzema. When he played against Italy last season, he gave a good performance, even though he didn't score he made Buffon work and hit the wood work with good attacking play. I wonder why he doesn't do it every time.

I still pray he turns it around so that I can say I backed him. If only he could go back to working extra hard to toughen up his muscles. He is not even as old as Arjen Robben. Luke Shawn would have just been a waste if not Gaal's intervention. It looks like when he heard he was on his way to United, he went partying.

* As for Berbatov he also faced top teams in group qualifiers. Every team in Europe faces small and big teams in qualifiers. The difference though is tournaments and friendly matches. England will play bigger friendly matches for sure.

I was the one who started calling Berbatov a flat track bully...with good reason.
All the skill in the world but he underachieved BADLY with what God blessed him with.
The guy will be loading goals against yeye teams but when the kitchen gets hot he runs out through the window.

# As for Berbatov he also faced top teams in group qualifiers. Every team in Europe faces small and big teams in qualifiers. The difference though is tournaments and friendly matches. England will play bigger friendly matches for sure.

I think what's wrong with Rooney are two main problems.

1. Lack of confidence. This factor can ruin any footballer!! It totally ruined Torres' career. Rooney is no longer confident up front or in front of a keeper. The fans, the press, football pundits scrutinizes his every move. He is always looking for a perfect chance to score and doesn't even attempt to strike from all angles. I remember against Aston villa or so, Níhilist pointed out a dumb move Rooney made with the last chance of the match. Rooney was in the 8-yard box near the by-line, with the last kick of the match, instead of Rooney to take a shot at the goalie since he has nothing to lose, the Idíot shot at throwing to avoid the moving ball going in for a goal kick. I mean at 94 mins!! He couldn't even take a risk!! It was at that moment that Níhilist finally gave up on Rooney. I wish I can show you the moment to paint a better picture.

2. And finally, Rooney has lost the essence/knowledge of what it takes to be a lone wolf/striker. I wish I can blame Rooney solely for this, but I can't. Gaal caused this presently. Over the years Ferguson mastered the act of taking the pressure off Rooney and allowing Rooney drop into midfield or behind the main striker by pairing him with an out and out striker. It kept Rooney relevant and no-one could blame him for not scoring much because the main striker did majority of the scoring. Rooney-Persie and Rooney-Saha comes to mind. Ferguson knew Rooney had lost the ability to lead our line and made sure he got Rooney a lethal partner. But moronic Gaal thought it wise to give Rooney the sole striker position and we are paying gravely for it. It was already late when he realized the truth hence over-paying for an unknown Martial. Gaal is a natural bastard!!

You once posted pics showing other strikers like Klose and Aguero coming outside the 18-yard box to look for services in your defense of Rooney, but what you failed to understand is that those strikers unlike Rooney don't stray too far to the midfield and always double back on time to drag away defenders in order to create chances for others, while also staying off the shoulders of the last defenders in order to grab any through ball, crossings and keep the defenders busy and on their toes. Against Newcastle, Coloccini and co were never troubled because Rooney was busy residing in the midfield. Drogba would have made Coloccini sweat by constantly disturbing him. Rooney has lost the essence of being a lone striker over the years.

I am here to always expose your football analytical twaddles. Every sane mind know depay underperformed in Swansea match and majority would validate my view. But your own monkey will call orange, banana because of severe hunger. All your efforts to defend scamming depay's woeful epl performances are claptraps and further showed, you are a spurious fellow. Hazard's past is what depay is dreaming of. Asinine, keep shifting goal post to paint depay in wonderful colours; from Tottenham is harder to play than Swansea, to Swansea was playing at home, to fake player rating web link, to players ratings were done by cricket fans. Next , you will say Depay could nt perform because of bad weather in England and most importantly he is not wearing red boots. Dimwit

you are comparing depay that has banged in 2 goals in 6 games for man utd to hidden hazard that has 0 goals in 5 games. yet, you claim to always come here to expose analytical twaddle when you keep shooting yourself in the foot like a paraplegic nuisance with poop for brains. every sane mind knows underperformed against swansea? how did hazard perform at home against swansea? like a balon d'or winner? grin grin grin grin depay is a bloody good player.......his record speaks for itself. hidden hazard keeps getting pilloried by the managers of his club and country. the best player in the premier league has now fired blanks in 5 games in a row for his club......may your destiny deteriorate like hazard's current form in the name of jesus.....amen! grin

I think you will have to agree that Depay has not lived up to the hype and expectations yet... He is running out of time!
Hazard has proven himself in this league, and I expect him to get it together.... Early days for both regarding this season!!
Only Manchester City has hit the ground running..... We know what Hazard can do... Depay has a lot to prove, a lot more than Hazard!

I thought it was only shekpe fans that had shekpe/ogogoro for brains, and are good at being dumb, I didn't know shekpe fans are brainy when compared to gayners fans. I mean, gayners fans are not only useless trolls, but their cranium are as dry as their trophy cabinet. Imagine what someone with a functioning brain typed below. The world is coming to an end finally. sad cry lipsrsealed

Whenever Walcott gets this right he will be the best striker in Europe, because honestly I rate him as one of the best finishers in the game, better than Ronaldo and Aguero.

He was suppose to have most of his confidence back after scoring three against Brugges. May be he ruined it the moment he missed his first against Swansea.

*That last minute added time happened when we were one nil up. Given he had lost scoring opportunity with his lack of pace to catch up the ball, the most sensible thing was to put the ball in touch for throwing instead of a goal kick.

Gaal is a natural bastard!!

.

You have some point but it's more complicated. Ferguson also admitted blame for not specializing Rooney. He said so in summer of 2008. He said it was his fault for playing him in many positions which have affected his goals return. I will look for that interview.

It's complicated in the sense that Rooney could play many roles and he arrived at a time we had a specialist sole striker in Nistelrooy. Somehow, it kind of defined already how SAF was to use Rooney from then on. I think SAF also loved his workaholic part of him where he could chase an attacking midfielder back and disposes him, and all his Barkely/Oxlaid-Chamberlain energetic part of his game in the deep capped with his goals abilities.

Rooney requested he played as CF in 2009/10 and he got his wish and delivered. Again, Ferguson failed to build on that but brought Chicharito. Rooney wanted to continue there with a player like Ozil behind him.

But I still cannot blame SAF, he probably always wanted Rooney's energy in part of the build up play. As a sole striker, all his energy (when he still had it) goes to waste.

Drogba and Rooney don't play the Centre forward the same way.

I will recommend you pay more attention to other strikers during matches, also watch Rooney's past goals even in 2009/10 you will discover so many things. Even under Moyes when he had many goals from his CF matches, he always drifted in and out of the opposition defence area.

There are many ways of playing centre forward. Take last season Benzema vs Chicharito. Benzema looked quiet and played far from the opposition defenders, involved in build up play, but he find pocket holes to slot himself to score. Chicha on the other hand always looked busy even without the ball, played in and around the box always but he never really troubled when the ball came to him.

Also do Giroud vs Berbatov/Robbie Keane.

Giroud always stretching his legs to reach every ball into the box, jumping, running, agile. Berbatov calm and calculative. 'No stain me' striker.
