What is the argument about again?

The rich will live in nice houses in nice areas and the poor will live in overcrowded and substadard buildings . .

Is this not the same with every single state in Nigeria? undecided

Does every state not have slums and posh areas?

I ask what is the argument again?

Yea u right but this is it

In the SW. You have the rich, upper middle class, lower middle class, the averagely poor and the extremely poor

But in the SE, you have the rich, upper middle class, lower middle class and the avergely poor.

The extremely poor can only be found in the deep villages and they are minor because even in the villages they have a high standard of living. you dont find people living in mud houses in the village.

Mind you the cost of living in the SE/SS is second to none in the country

Its hard you believe but drive down to the East if you can

The fact that you speak Yoruba doesn't make you one. I know lots of Ibo boys that can speak Ibadan dialect more than the indigenes themselves.

Besides, you know this thread is not about the trash you posted. There is poverty and lack of adequate development everywhere in Nigeria especially in iboland and that's why they keep on flocking in to the SW. Anyway, that's discourse for another day.

This thread is about the proud heritage of Yorubas nothing more, and don't dare derail it again

We don't need to toast them to fuckkk them. Just step in with your N500 and in after about 30 minutes, you're all set and good to go...conji relieved. I swear, I cannot count the number of Igbo babes I have yanshed. 100 is an understatement grin

I can show you a few select pictures
But is that the reality?

You are also missing out the cultural aspect
I built property in Lagos before building in Ibadan
I am actually from Ibadan
I also have my eye on Abuja & will consider buying property in Abuja before even considering Ibadan again.
My father built properties in Lagos before building in Ibadan our home town
People from the East generally speaking build in their villages first, so you will expect to see more modern houses in the villages in the East than villages in the West.

What I am trying to get to is that I dont understand the hatred between the 2 tribes. We are one Nigeria
Peace!

Orlu is like that: untarred streets that are nearly fully-built with houses, no gutters;
except the urban roads tarred by Udenwa administration and by NDDC; plus a few 4,or 5 roads done by Okorocha government in 2013, before Okorocha started to take Orlu for a village - till today.

The point am making is that the East does not have slums as you have in the West which is as a result of poverty and lack of personal hygiene.

The slums you see in the East(that is if at all we agree they are slums) are as a result of government neglect eg bad roads or littered refused dump but not due to individual poverty.

Stop using your perception of slum and poverty in the West to perceive the East because you will be getting the wrong picture.

IGBOS ARE NOT POOR, THEY COMMAND THE HIGHEST STANDARD OF LIVING BOTH HOME AND ABROAD.

The point am making is that the east does not slums as you have in the west which is as a result of poverty and lack of personal hygiene.

The slums you see(that is if at all we agree they are slums) are as a result of government neglect eg bad roads or littered refused dump but not due to individual poverty.

Stop using your perception of slum and poverty in the west to perceive the east because you will be getting the wrong picture.

IGBOS ARE NOT POOR, THEY COMMAND THE HIGHEST STANDARD OF LIVING BOTH HOME AND ABROAD.

Okay I have heard your argument
The West is poor and the East is rich
What next?
Does that change anything for you and me? undecided
Some arguments are not even worth it
The rich get richer and the poor poorer
Instead of us to fight for a better life for everybody
It is well
Im late for work
Have a good day

lolz! Why do u guys always focus on south east? Do u knw who are talking with? Do u knw if am frm the east? In my comment i never compare d two region, so why are u bringing the east pple here? Funny pple.

Goto biafran threads, you will notice that they are all quick to attack and attribute their woes to Yoruba people, hence my assertion.

Besides, Yoruba has no major qualms with anoy other tribe in Nigeria except the Igbos

I honestly see no reason why a thread created without any tribal prejudice, highlighting the contrast between the beautiful ancient brown rooftops and the sprawling new development taking place in one of the largest cities in Africa, IBADAN should be derailed by ethnic bigots.

It's clear that the OP had no malicious intent to any ethnic group when he created the thread. I'm sure it was purely meant to be an educative n enlightening thread to introduce/reintroduce the city to Nairalanders.

I therefore wonder why some people who are obviously intelligence jaundiced, myopic and plain silly decided to start hauling insults at the inhabitants of the city and their ethnicity.

@vicadex07, good job man. But next time please don't join issues with all these Internet gangsters and social nincompoops who don't see anything good in others.
