IPV and OPV are the same...just the method of delivery is different.

No ma'am. As part of the Polio eradication endgame, the WHO is trying to phase out the Oral Polio and replace it with the Inactivated IPV which is what will be used after polio eradication. IPV is now available in Nigeria as part of the Polio endgame plan.
They are trying to phase out OPV and replace with IPV for the post polio free Nigeria era.
Its ok to get the IPV even after taking the OPV

If it is going and coming back then it might be a fungal infection. I suggest you guys check it out at the hospital.
My opinion though.

Yes ure right. We travelled last week and i accompanied my sis to the health centre for her baby's one year immunization. My Baby was given IPV despite the fact that he had taken all his OPVs and he was 10months + .

hello mommas, pls i would like to advise you all on measures you take that adversely affect your babies health in the long run e.g using skineal or sudocreme mixed with whatever for daily creme is wrong. the makers of skineal/sudocreme know why they made it for rashes/skin infections, its meant to cure not prevent. another example is using paracetamol before immunization, why not wait to find out if your baby eventually runs temp then u administer pcm.......... pcm is a drug and we should mind how we give it. the drugs some of us use to prevent teething wahala eh meanwhile some babies don't even experience teething problems or would not have experienced. when i had my 1st doctor, i was told that teething powder is fine but some other drugs e.g piccan can cause stomach abi na intestine issues in future. i no dey spoil their mkt o. just my advise sha. i wish all our babies/kids good health always.

I totally agree with this..

Kimoni:

Mamas, I won't advise anybody to use sudocream as a permanent cream - either on its own or mixed with petroleum jelly. Sudocream is a special formulation made for treating nappy rash and other light infections. It wasn't design to be used on children bodies permanently.
One mama just said her pead. stopped her from using it while another mama said it contains zinc oxide which can be absorbed by the body system when used for a prolonged period thereby causing something else in the body.
Seconded!!!

You are right o. As per the teething stuff, people should stop believeig all those lies, any sickenss , it will be termed teething. My son was recently sick and I was told, don't worry, it is teething, it will go. Ni bo (for where), I told hubby, we need to take him to the hospital. After test, It was discovered that he has malaria and infection. I am not saying teething doesn't cause discomfort to babies, but we should be more vigilant.

No, what is happening is very common really. It happened to me and other moms in my daughter 's crèche way back.

She already identifies you as 'mummy' and she knows you are not as stern as the crèche aunties so she takes advantage of it. I am not sure what the solution is but you could get firmer with her during meal times or you can decide to wait this phase out. You could also give her something she loves very much when it's you feeding her.
TX ma'am

Totally agree with u. I didn't give my son anything except paracetamol and even d paracetamol sef, at times when he is running temperature I just wear him light clothes and d temperature goes down on its own. It's when I av done d needful and d temperature is still a bit high, I check with thermometer and then I give paracetamol.

Hope this helps

I use it sparingly too. I noticed if my baby's head is hot and I breastfeed, he sweats it out and that's all , I only use pcm when d temp persists.

I made this for my baby Last night and he wolfed it down.

Age: 6m+
Ingredients: Sweet potato, apples, carrots, turkey and cabbage

How-To**

*Peel sweet potato, apple, carrot, wash and dice
*Remove skin and debone turkey, wash well and dice
*I used d innermost part of cabbage, noticed d leaves thr are softer and fresher, wash and cut

**In a pot combine carrots and cabbage, cover with water, reduce heat and steam till tender.
**Put d turkey in another pot cover with water reduce heat and steam, 15-20mins into d cooking, pour sweet potatoes and apples, cover with enough water.
**When all is cooked, scoop into a blender, discard d carrot water, use d sweet potato water to puree into the consistency u want, if d left over water isn't enough simply use previously boiled water.

****I cooked d carrot and cabbage separately cos of nitrates
