Don't need to answer any quiz! But suffice is say they source for foreign currencies through many channels, such as deposite from oil coy, central bank, govt. agencies, investment in multi-national deals etc. Hope you are satisfy now..... Can you now please answer my own quiz?
and all the sources you mentioned sometimes deposit fake currencies in their domiciliary accounts or give banks fake currencies? Your question irrelevant because it is outside the scope of this topic. The scope of this topic is about ppl accusing a bank of giving fake currencies where you are asking me how fake currencies are made . You have answered my question and that should be enough to those falsely accusing the bank in this particular case . The best way to ask your question will be to ask whether it is possible for a Nigerian bank to accept and give out fake foreign exchange currency

Like the way you tackle the issue bro! Source of fake currencies could be through the bank staffs, this is valid claim. So the bank hands are not totally Clean because the way the handled the issue here.

ok .let's get the whole scenario.most likely the situation got tense and maybe the mob or crowd were about to get violent and lynch the Hausa man.if the bank had pushed the Hausa man to the crowd and he was killed everyone will blame the bank for not doing anything to save the situation. So the best thing was to bring the Hausa man into the building but note that the article said the trader was shouting and causing a scene ,no sensible bank manager will allow such person into the banking hall to disrupt their business. Secondly the trader knows the name ,and office address of the Hausa man so there was no point causing a scene at the bank since he neither bought the currency there . The question is when the trader bought the dollars he agreed that it was original dollars and that was why he paid and went home .so how can he come back after 24hrs to say the dollars are fake. Will you accept the money back if you are the Hausa man?where the trader went and what he did within those hours is unknown to anyone except him.

You have a valid point. But please re-read the story again. The bank should have detain the hausa man and hand him to police that later arrested the victim, letting him escaped through their back door after he openly implicating them in the deal, is a no-no situation bro!

Funny story. If The Hausa truly confirmed the fake dollars, why did he not transfer back the victim's fund and settle scores with the bank undecided

I wonder ooo. The bank didn't sell the currency, the transaction wasn't done inside the bank, the Hausa man is not even a staff of the bank and yet some ppl are shouting bank bank bank

The matter tire me. If this case gets to court, the way FCMB would remove themselves from the case would do some people like filmtrick.

You did a transaction with the hausa man in his office wherever, then came to bank to shout, and the bank should be dumb enough to release the Hausa man, so that they can lynch him?
Why they sprayed teargas on the man is where I have a problem, but then I can imagine what an irate customer he must have been.

Let them be shouting bank, bank...sometimes Nigerians think they know their rights on banking operations but they know nada. That's why they would keep 'guying' them. grin

If this story is true, then its injustice ... Enough investigation must be done to know the truth of the matter!

Seun, lalasticlala, ishilove, obinoscopy, what do you think?

This is injustice and whatever should be done must be done to bring that bank and their hausa accomplice to book!

The Aboki should be held responsible, arrested and and made to confess how he got the fake dollars...he's even luck that he still knows the aboki's shop!

After intense torture I'm sure he would confess if the bank was involved in the whole scam then something needs to be down!

Chai! Dis is wickedness oh
BTW most people who get duped are either covetous greedy or are after cheap things......

The bank wouldn't be blamed if, they had handed both of them(mallam and victim) to police.

But they allowed the man to escape and handed to man over to police. That's totally wrong.

from my own point of view the trader is a scam. He never wanted the Hausa man arrested but just wanted to make some noise in order to cover up his crime. Because if truly he lost 30k dollars he would have created a scene at the Hausa man office and called the police there and not at the bank

why should they detain someone involved in a personal or business dispute with someone and which doesn't concern the bank

Detain for what?

The police will conduct normal investigation.

The police is in the best Position to handle this disputes.

The victim should have gone to the mallam's office with the Police. This issue would have been resolved.

The good news here is that the Mallam is not denying knowing the victim.

The mallam willingly went to the bank with the guy.

The bank's action created more suspicion.

The emboldened is exactly why I said lots of Nigerians are not enlightened on banking operations. The bank has no right whatsoever to detain either of them(hand them over to the police). The dollar exchange didn't take place in the bank, neither did it involve a staff. It's not the bank's business.
They didn't allow the Hausa man escape, they only refused to allow harm befall him within their premises, which is perfect.

I've read the story over and over, nowhere did I see the man(victim) was detained, he was pushed out for constituting a nuisance and disrupting banking services which is totally allowed.

If he wants to arrest the Hausa man, he should go organise his own police or whatever he wants to use, and pick up the man IN HIS OFFICE, right where the transaction happened.

Dude....the minute the bank said no money.....you should have gone to another bank.....AT ONCE.!

Of course....they would deny it.....NO DOCUMENTATION FROM THE BANK OR FROM THE HAUSA MAN....NOT EVEN A CAMERA PHOTO....since you went to do business outside the bank with another man.

Sorry my man.....but you were the one who caused your problem. You should have gone to another bank....and you should have not done forex business without DOCUMENTARY PROOF!...AND WITH SOME GUY WHO IS NOT LEGALLY ALLOWED TO DO BUSINESS IN FOREX.

Nigerians!

Nigerians!

Blame master, Mr perfect, analysing foolishly. When things like this happened to others, we are quick to chip in rags. There is more to this. There is a cctv in the bank and also a proove of any transaction that occured between the hausa man and the bank. The Hausa man was bold enough to still come to the bank. He wasnt running. The investigation is on going. Truth may be delay it but not denied. We all learn lessons from every action, both good or bad.
