What exactly do you know about Ndokwa cosmology?

In Ndokwa

God is Chukwu, Land is Ani, sky is Enu, water is mili, the market days are Eke, Nkwo, oye, afor.

Are you sure you are alright?

How can you group Ndokwa with Itsekiri and Urhobo?

Even Ijaw is not Edoid.

You can celebrate your Edoids get together party, but try as much as possible to keep Igbo speaking groups out of your great Edoid party.

And what has your cosmological rants proven other than the fact that Anioma is different from the people of the Niger Delta?
The Ndokwa share the same cosmological stand with the Niger Deltans as reflected in their dressing (George Wrappers), their social life, their view of the spirit world and patrilineal ancestral worship, their myths and legends which are largely connected to the itinerants myths and legends of the Niger Delta people. Even their language seems to be more diluted than mainstream Anioma people. That is not to say Ndokwas are in anyway kith or kin with the Niger Deltans but simply to assert that they seem to have more cultural ties than main stream Igboid cultures such as Anioshimili people.

Ijaws are Edoid but the language itself is not in the Edoid family. It forms its own Ijoid category entirely. I say they are Edoid because of Cultural affinity and on the grounds that these people were long time inhabitants of Igodomigodo(Ile-Ubinu, now Benin) before the time of the Ogisos. Please instead of insulting people on Nairaland, kindly update your knowledge of History and make good use of Historiography.

I wont insult you as you have insulted my person. It'll make you always remember that some people wont ever stoop so low in intellectual engagements where meta-analysis forms the basis of any argument.

Says who? don't know why some less exposed idiots would keep poking their nose into what they know nothing about. Yes, the Anioma's are part of the larger Igbo group. But, nobody made you the cultural spokesman of the Anioma people. Some of you proud bigots from the SE must understand that the Anioma's and most Igbo subgroups share a lot in common with the Edoid groups. A fact you can never take away.
So, please allow the Itshekiri, Urhobo, and Izon of Delta state enjoy their thread.

And you just assume everyone who writes on Nairaland is a South Easterner? Smh. Such a fallacy of hasty conclusion, the hallmark of one with a faulty intellectual acuity. I wont even bother to trade insults with you because I have seen that your problem cannot be solved with words but with a cage, a table, some books and possibly Diazepam.

There is nothing like Niger delta people.

And no, Ndokwa share no ancestral myths, worship and legend with the people of Itsekiri, Ijaw, Isoko, Urhobo any more than they share with the fangs of Gabon.

Ukwuani is Igboid in culture and everything, they share same riverine culture as the Ogbaru communities of Anambra.

As for the dressing, well almost the whole of west Africa dress alike in so many ways.

Yes, Ndokwa are Isoko/ Urhobo neighbors, but that does not give you the right to separate Ndokwa from Enu ani, just to expand your Edoid Influence.

Ndokwa remains part of Anioma, together with Enu ani and Ika, and the culture remains strongly riverine Igbo, and continuous with those of Ogbaru communities in Anambra state, which are part of the greater Anioma area.

Not that bad at all! Nigeria is culturally superior to South Africa indeed, most especially, to the xenophobic Zulus.

Are u an ijebu man? If so you should be able to understand it cos there some similarities in our spoken language just like the Owos.
There's a linguistic called "Edekiri". If you read up on this, you'll understand the link btw us.

wow. is that Itshekiri language? sounds so close to the language spoken by Ondo people.

History books and our forefathers told us that the Itsekiris are descendants of the Yorubas.

So, its not unusual if the language is similar to Ondo people and also the Ilajes in the riverine areas of Ondo state.
