I live in America but i must confess, there's no place like Nigeria.
If i can get a job that pays like the one i have in America, I will be in Nigeria the next day.

Nigeria is the best country on earth.
People who lives in Nigeria may not understand this till you move to that country you think is the best.

Nigeria is a great country to live but no security, you're not safe.

Finland or Denmark or switzerland. Not only do they rank on a higher pedestal as the happiest folks in this part of the planet, lead a comparatively better life and value every individual life, they also deem education as forming the fulcrum and core value of their very existence. Since, I'm a sucker for quality education, these countries are my preferred choice.

Additionally, imagine being paid for just breathing, for just staying alife and for doing absolute nothing. That's the new bill that has been passed into law in switzerland.

It's only Nigerians I have seen complain about paying taxes, how else do you expect things to work functionally without taxes? You want constant electricity, but you don't want to pay taxes? You expect motorable roads, and want to evade the only means government would make money to provide such amenities?
. It's your type of person that Nigeria should avoid; physically indolent, mental shiftlessness that you possess. Wanting the best in life without working for it. Awuff lovers.

Better kukuma stay there, Nigeria doesn't need your type

In my neck of the woods, we call them skivers.

What happens after getting your citizenship?
I know tonnes of people who already became US citizens and can't even use their US passports for anything. They are simply buried in their bills to think of traveling anywhere.

#10 is just the beginning of the journey bro. All the homeless people we see in the US no be US citizens? It could have being from their choices though, but even those that went through the steps you highlighted to become US citizens and end up with good jobs still know modern-day slavery when they see it. They just don't complain because their home country aint any better.

Well i can't help "those" people. A lot of people come to the U.S thinking they are still in Nigeria. Financial responsibility is key to survival. When i first arrived in the states, my first port of call was chicago. Trust naija people, there was always one owambe party every weekend or another. I used to get confused as to how they could do it. Till a trusted Ghanaian friend broke it down for me. These guys used to max their credit cards just to impress other nigerians. This is a sure way to disaster. He further told me to stay away from them. Thank God i listened. America is not Nigeria where you can spend anyhow you want and be broke for long periods and survive. You have to think before you spend. A lot of Nigerians don't. There is no hiding place here. It's all about personal responsibility and making hard choices. It did not even take me one year to stand on my feet because i made hard choices. A lot nigerians told me not to apply for my present job because of safety but i ignored them, now they are asking how i am surviving so well. I tell them what i am telling you; HARD CHOICES BRO. Leave the Nigerian mentality behind and the sky is the limit. Think like a regular Nigerian and you'll surely fail.

Nigeria where real Nigerians are living: in the heart of Abuja like Maitama and Asokoro, in the Lung of Port harcourt, in the liver of Lagos like VGC , where I am now is not Nigeria but an annex.
well plan on moving from the annex to the heart where real Nigerians are living,, that's my own plan settle in a part of Nigeria and make it my own paradise.....

That's one thing I've observed in every state in Nigeria there is that hidden, nice place where you can settle down, live your life and Impact on those who don't have enough.. I'll pay my dues to my father &mother land..

I wanna commend everyone's decision in the country they Av chosen. However I love Nigeria to a fault, a country where u build your house and move without cementing the walls and people congratulate u whole-heartedly. U buy your first toks for a car n feel fly. U watch An EPL match in a wooden shack with strangers and ur team scores a goal,u hug a total stranger.

In all these big countries however non of the above listed is achievable or seen as worth celebrating.

I will choose Nigeria any day. However if given a forced choice I will like to stay in the Caribbean(Barbados or Antigua). Ghana too

Glad to hear you're doing great so far. Things tend to change with time though. When certain life events like family, layoffs etc sets in, most people tend to wake up more to understand the system more. Knowing that daycare cost for a single child for a month will pay some people's rent for a year in Nigeria wakes a lot more people up.
Now, adding all that cost to paying back student loans at the same time makes a lot of people feeling more broke than Nigeria. A failed marriage and getting stuck with child support and alimony practically would makemany useless, and the whole 10 step outline you had would appear to be a scam to them.
Not saying it's like that for everyone, just saying I've seen things people have been through that's not necessarily their faults.

You got that right. I still cannot fathom how anyone can complain about america. This is a country where you can literally close your eyes and envision anything you want to be and you can be that thing. The tools, resources and infrastructure is there to guarantee your dreams will become a reality. All you have to do is just want it and take the first step. But no, Nigerians want to come here and be big boys overnight and party. Well, like it was said in the wizard of oz, "you ain't in kansas no more". You'd better act right and get right or get the phuck out.

Like you have rightly said, to really make it outside of Nigeria especially in the western world one needs a good education over there, without that, it may not worth it.
Whoever is planning to travel there should be prepared to study for at least two years then he will never regret taking that decision if he is smart enough.

As for me Canada or Australia is the place.
My last resort will be USA

Daverytimes:

Its ignorance, they all think the grass is greener on the other side until they get there. If people researched what it takes to survive in the US or many western nations they will understand and choose to make something of themselves in their country of origin. Most Nigerians don't know what taxes are, nor do they know mortgages nor the massive amounts of bills one has to pay just to survive. They don't know that in order to be something in any western society you first have to go to school, spend years and tens of thousands of dollars acquiring adequate education. Its just sad when i here how people salivate at the thought of coming to the US or going to the UK or Germany, they have no bloody idea.
