Is it their responsibility to give portfolio to whoever? This 'nations' called Nigeria is a mockery of a nation. Even why should senate full of questionable characters screen candidates after DSS an independent and infallible body have cleared such candidates. |

as if that will deter them from being made Ministers... as far as this whole country's politics is concern, the Senate will not screen anybody out, not talk more of them EFCC and ICPC. they should let us be joor.. |

This ohabunwa of a man just wanted to grab his 5 minutes of fame and he has got it. Spewing thrash all over. At least he has been sufficiently tutored by Na'allah on his limits and the limits of the senate. If efcc is involved, their report at this stage will be allegations no matter how weighty. An accused is presumed innocent until the court decides otherwise. The precedence was laid in the past including clearance of Obanikoro by the senate just few months ago. Many governors stood and won re-election in 2007 despite efcc publicly listing them as corrupt at a presentation to the senate by ribadu. He should also realize that senate has only 3 weeks from the date of receipt of nomination to decide otherwise the president doesn't need their confirmation again [section 147(6)]. What does he think efcc will come up with in that time unless their files was already built up. If senate intend to reject any of the nominees, it better look for something political to hook on to, allegation of corruption at this stage may be too late. |

This is the beauty of democracy and independence of the Legislature. If it were a puppet on the seat as Senate President, it would just be 'Take a bow'. |
Re: Senate May Involve EFCC, ICPC In Ministerial Screening by 2n2k(m): 9:26am On Oct 06, 2015 |
Episteme2: There will still be 'take a bow' if there is former senator among the nominees. It is a senate rule. Ignore the gra-gra by those publicity seeking senators |

So much noise everywhere, nothing will happen. The whole screening exercise would go so smoothly and hitch free for all the nominees |

Re: Senate May Involve EFCC, ICPC In Ministerial Screening by eph12(m): 9:40am On Oct 06, 2015 |
Sanchez01:Nah i don't think so. I will tell you why. The president spent the last two months or so investigating these names he has sent to the senate according to the report from different media house so i believe he is satisfied with the result he got. This senate phase we are waiting to come and pass is just formality. If the names are rejected then can we say the president has been wasting time since or he is not serious yet in appointing his 'noise makers'? |

Empty threats from the senate. They can't shake Baba Buhari. Sai Baba. If they stop Amaechi or Fashola, Baba will go for Orubebe |
